  1. Is this post raising awareness about the inefficiency/pointlessness of raising awareness? My favorite part is the Wikipedia source telling me everything I need to know about "slactivism."
  2. My two things that don't involve the consumption of adult beverages: Husker Nation Pavilion. They usually have something down in track area, (NE of the stadium) before the game. This is a great chance to mingle with fans in a family atmosphere. The Band. Check out the band's drum line. They warm-up outside about 70 min before the game outside the music hall. (East of the art museum). Nothing says college football like hearing the drum line! Watching them march over is also pretty awesome, but I am usually in the stadium by then. Here is a schedule of the activities and when they start: (pregame, prior to kickoff) 7 a.m. - Stadium Drive closed to vehicle traffic 4 hours - Ticket Office opens, North Stadium Lobby opens (closes 30 minutes before kickoff) 3 hours - Husker Nation Pavilion opens, West Stadium Lobby opens 2.5 hours - Unity Walk- Football Team arrives (East stadium plaza) 1.5 hours - Stadium gates open 45 minutes - Band marches to stadium (gates 3 & 11) 20 minutes - Field cleared for pregame activities If you need any more info, check out the Husker Football Fan Guide! - http://www.huskers.com/ViewArticle.dbml?&DB_OEM_ID=100&ATCLID=205496957
  3. He's officially out for tomorrow. https://journalstar-dot-com.bloxcms.com/users/login/?source=sync_paywall&cfsv=0.44610700+1411141837&referer_url=https%3A%2F%2Fjournalstar-dot-com.bloxcms.com%2Ftncms%2Fauth%2Ffederated%2Fresponse%2F%3Fcfsv%3D0.44610700%2B1411141837%26return%3Dhttps%253A%252F%252Fsyncaccess.net%252Flee%252Fjsp%252Fsocial%252FExternalLoginCallback%253Fprovider%253Dbloxcms%2526returnUrl%253Dhttp%253A%252F%252Fm.journalstar.com%252Fsports%252Fhuskers%252Ffootball%252Fhusker-kicker-hurt-in-motorcycle-crash%252Farticle_6e59b912-1d1d-5ced-baca-abe0d72ee037.html%253Fmobile_touch%253Dtrue
  4. 2). It's entirely possible to love the University of Nebraska and not Bo. He is not bigger than the program or the program. He appears to be a unfortunate blip on the storied history of Nebraska. I have no doubt that you love the program and intensely dislike Bo. My point is that if you are unhappy....take action. Withdraw your support not just emotionally but also financially. Change WILL happen if there is others like you. It has happened this way before...it will happen again IF you are right. I simply believe you are not. 😄
  5. I get that people are emotional. I too am disappointed with the play of the team. Two things: 1) Those of you who are ready to fire Bo do no respect how good many FCS teams are. Should it have been this close? No. Was McNeese far better going in than anyone in Nebraska gave them credit? Yes. 2) If you as a fan are frustrated and want Bo gone. That is fine! Turn in your tickets to the athletic program in protest, cancel your donations to the college, and put the sellout streak in jeopardy. If there enough other fans like yourself change will happen. As for me I will be at the Miami game, in the new Husker shirt I bought when I got to town. And I will support my team. You can DO something if you are pissed husker fans! Sniping and trolling a message board is not action.
  6. Don't get me wrong, the Phil Steele preview magazine is about the only college football preview mag I buy these days...but his "accuracy" is not nearly as good as they advertise. In tough divisions it is not uncommon for Phil to tie team creating a 1-2-2-4-5-5 formula. At the end of the year he then boasts how he got it right when teams tied on record, but one was in fact better due to league by-laws and head-to-head match-ups. Keep in mind that he had BOTH Auburn and Missouri finishing 6th out of 7 in their respective divisions, but did list Auburn as a potential "surprise team" (a.k.a - no where to go but up since they finished 0-8 in the $EC the year before). Steele produces a great magazine with great historical detail (as many others have pointed out), but the fact he proclaims to be the "most accurate magazine the last 16" is a bit frustrating to me. http://hailvarsity.com/2013/05/which-preseason-magazines-are-the-most-accurate/
  7. Ouch! I am so sorry. I moved last two summers ago and got stuck with Cable One, they do have BTN2Go but you'll have to do without Comedy Central, MTV, Spike, and CMT. I'm getting so desperate here in Fargo we are actually excited about Mid-Continent!
  8. This took longer than I expected. Honestly...I thought Michigan would have started these comments the second we started in the B1G. I guess it is tough being tied with Indiana for 8th in the Big 10...ouch.
  9. I try not to get upset about accidents, but when it is due to a corporation's lack of maintenance & your $$$CEO$$$ made $9,676,420 in 2011...I get pissy.
  10. I was asked this the other day, and I legitimately came up with another 9-4 season. I would definately still call myself a Bo backer, so another 9-4 (which I think would be respectable) would make for another long year.
  11. College Football News predicts 2nd. http://cfn.scout.com/2/1366886.html
  12. Here's hoping that the improvement in defense continues through the spring and into next year...if they can do that I see no reason why a berth in the B1G championship shouldn't be expected.
  13. The thing that worries me is that he is labelled by sportswriter David Ramsey as their best recruiter, and then in the same article talks about how they lacked division one talent. I believe in his abilities, but there are some contradictions. http://m.gazette.com/article/1512864
  14. I don't know. He looked incredibly slow, and his pocket awareness had to be good because he held the ball too long. I think SEC defenses would tee-off on a guy like that.
  15. Don't think I saw this posted anywhere else. http://www.schoollockers.com/blog/lockers/top-college-locker-rooms/ The Nebraska Cornhuskers are one of only ten teams that have won more than 800 games over their entire history. Since their beginning, the team has won 864 games with only 357 losses, making them the team with the fourth highest victories of all time… These wins can in large be contributed to the players, the coaches, and the incredible resources in the locker room. The Cornhuskers’ locker room consists of 123 individualized stadium lockers. Each one of these is customized with a nameplate and a picture of the player in action on the field. No expense was spared as each wood locker is made from solid maple. In addition to these, there are resources in the locker room that can guarantee the success of the players on the field. One of the best weight rooms in the country is located in this locker room. Here athletes spend time training for upcoming games. For those who need to relax after a grueling match, the player’s lounge is the perfect place for the team to congregate together. Here there are big screen TVs, video games, and more team building aspects.
  16. I would love them to be, but....no.
  17. Both OSUs for me. Muck Fizzou and down with Dabo!
  18. It's too bad. At least Wiscy and Iowa are hanging tough. It just seems like B1G just has lousy match ups
  19. yes. They were terrible but Beth Mowins is still worse. Imagine how bad a Mowins & Cunningham team would be.
  20. I think this game proved that Bo needs to go. It was embarrassing watching the Huskers play hard all game against a Georgia team that was not as beat up as they made them out to be.
