I would like to applaud Maryland and Rutgers for approaching their bowl games in true big ten fashion. The Domers and Marshall? Ouch.

Is it August yet? Oh Good Lord this is gonna be a long off season.

Fargo is in absolute meltdown over this.

There are rumors in Fargo that he is one of the top 3 choices of the AD for the North Dakota State position now that Bohl left for Wyoming.

I sincerely hope that many of you are staying away from tall buildings, sharp objects, excessive amounts of pain killers, and Futurama suicide booths. I worry about some of you!

With that in mind, here are some of my favorite examples of false reasoning... Ad Hominem – attacking the person who questions your argument. (A Huskerboard favorite, though the moderators do a nice job of policing...thanks!) Ad Populum – why waste time with evidence when “everyone” says it is right? (I have no opinion, so I am going to repeat what everyone else says with vigor!) Ad Ignoratiam – appeal to ignorance, no one here can prove it is false, must be true. (I have a friend/cousin/friend of a friend/made up nobody, that knows X member of the team/organization, and he tells me that Bo ritualistically murders four goats before every game.) Ad Vericundium – an appeal to inappropriate authority. Usually leads to non sequitur fallacy. (Since I was SUCH a great high school football player, who likely sat on the bench, I know what I am talking about!) Post Hoc – causation simply because one followed the other. (I know, I mean I KNOW, that false start early in the second quarter, led to another Iowa score late in the fourth. Dog-gonnit Cotton!) Hasty Generalizations – a conclusion is reached with too few or isolated examples. (After K-State: T-Magic WILL lead us to a big win over Texas, and a national title baby!!!! What's that do you smell Heisman!) Slippery Slope – that taking a step will lead to serious and undesirable consequences. (Popular as of late: If we fire/retain Bo, we become Kansas. Mediocrity!!!!) Red Herring – intentionally or unintentionally misleading or distracting from the real issue. (The reason I am so mad is not because my wife left me and my father never loved me, it is because the Huskers lost to Iowa!!!!) No True Scotsman - arguing that a true "native" would never allow such an action to occur. (Read any of the posts in the last 4 days). Now I will be the first to say that I have engaged in my fair share of these on the board, but I really think it is time for Husker fans to try and come together. I mean come on...we all still hate Missery right? Let's wallow together, swallow our pride (along with a healthy portion of whiskey), and cheer on Auburn this weekend. When that is done, we will likely find out that we will play Texass and we can all get behind that one too. If you don't like Bo, get behind the team. If you are a Bo-liever, smile when a Bo-leaver says something cranky about Bo...they want the same thing as you. They just believe in a different method!

I am completely okay with some of these "fans" quitting. Grab a beer, sit at home, listen to Springsteen sing some "glory days," and think about how great things were when you were masters of the universe and the Huskers dominated the 80's-90's. Enjoy retirement oldtimers!

I sincerely hope the "true" Nebraska fans will find their way to the door ASAP, manage to get off my bandwagon, and SHUT THE F UP!

I for one am glad Bo was retained. All the rest of you can cheer for Iowa. Go Big Red!

Living here in Fargo, there is a fair amount of hand wrangling going on up here about the same issue. I don't think he should be hired, I don't think Bo should be fired...but here are the reasons NDSU people believe Bohl won't go to Nebraska. 1) Bad blood. He is still upset at how he was treated in Lincoln and won't return. I have seen this personally when he was asked if his time at Nebraska influenced the type to success he has had at NDSU and he said "I choose not to talk about my time at Nebraska, let's talk about these kids." 2) Family. Rumor has it that Bohl's wife has said that she will never leave Fargo. This is a rumor...take it for what you will. 3) He's a God here. Bohl is viewed in the North Dakota community the way Nebraskans view Osborne. He might now get paid a ton, but his son is getting free school over in Moorhead and he is revered in ways I have seen few coaches be revered. 4) The system. Having watched NDSU play multiple times, I am not 100% sold his system would work in FBS. It IS solid, but it took him 8 years before his first championship. Would he get that time in Lincoln? I don't think his system would reach maturity before he was run out of town.

I really feel that is not a good move to fire Bo. It is true that there are many things he needs to work on...but he did make progress this year in my opinion. That said, I think the ship has sailed and he will be fired. Too bad.

What exactly is Gilmore's problem?

At first I wasn't sold on the idea of the recording game clips on the XB1. That said, it does work very smoothly, and I have uploaded a few videos from Ryse and Forza. Forza for the record is awesome...the drivatar system will be in every game before you know it. That good!

I've been very happy with the one since release. Ryse is amazing, and quite fun. Forza blew me away with the graphics....and I too thoroughly enjoy battlefield. Overall quite happy. One area of frustration is spending an extra 100 for a kinnect...and there are not games which primarily use the kinnect function.

Just a pipe dream, but someday I would like to be a Husker fan that didn't have to deal with the "put in Armstrong...Martinez sucks...wait Armstrong sucks...RKIII...wait fire Bo. Actually fire them all. Start over!" crap. I long for the day when we simply get beat on occasion, and don't have to fire the whole staff when we lose.

Enjoy the season people! Like many other teams...we have experienced a number of injuries. Do losses hurt? YES. But I do firmly believe that we are doing things right here at Nebraska. Sold out stadiums = check. Rabid fan base = check, check. A coaching staff that graduates players and stays out of NCAA trouble = check. Winning seasons and bowl games = check. Fans that understand and accept that sometimes you get beat = .......... If you don't want to be on the bandwagon, that is fine. But you are not getting my seat when things "magically" turn around.

I struggle here. I want desperately to support Bo, but we got outcoached by an interm head coach at Minnesota. This is pretty hard to overlook. That said, everyone calling for Bo's head better be ready to fork over some serious money. It will take a boat load to get the type of coach that people want.

I'm just as disappointed as anyone, but I'm not ready to give up. There needs to be some firing, but I'm not sold that it is Bo. That and Minny doesn't suck...

We fired him for a reason. Plus he has no desire to leave Fargo. Save the embarrassment.
