  1. We all want to win the big one. A BCS game. A national championship. But we want to do it with our integrity. If it involves waiting for years where our schedule sets up favorably and a few break hopefully go our way (like 2013!!), that's what we'll have to do. I'm perfectly content being in legitimate NC contention every handful of years as opposed to 3 times in 4 years or every year or what have you... If it means we have to become dirtbags and start treating the young kids we bring onboard as members of a family like numbers instead of people.
  2. Well, they didn't. Arky can back the f#$* off. They're still bitter about losing Seisay. Hope they're ready to lose again.
  3. I seriously want to know what is eventually going to put an end to the SEC's bullcrap recruiting tactics. I know it's all about money, so it's unlikely to change. But it's honestly destroying a lot of the parity in college football. Why do people think Bama whooped on ND so badly on Monday? It's NOT because Saban is THAT good of a coach. He's a good coach... but not THAT good. It's because they've been taking all comers as far as recruits go and figuring out the numbers later. It just really sickens me and I'd imagine a lot of other fans to hear ESPN and the media at large suck the SEC's nuts so bad when they're so blatantly cheating in order to build depth and talent that other teams can't. I just hope somehow we find a solution to this crap... and SOON!
  4. I felt he wasn't going to be commiting to us anyways. We can bring in the TE from the SEC country that Alabama is showing interest in as well and see what he can do. Maybe he will be commiting on Sunday or next week? Hopefully anyways. It will be interesting to see what kind of tweets come from Vandenburg if we do end up taking Carter after we told BV that we would not be taking a JUCO TE. Bear in mind Carter is a HS TE. But it'd still get underneath my skin a bit if I was Vandenburg. However, it is much better to pull the offer before he's committed than wait to do it. This way can play out his recruitment fairly.
  5. Hoping for the best on Dan... He's a really good lineman and we need depth on our lines in the worst way. That said, if he bolts for Michigan I wouldn't waste one ounce of energy worrying about it. We've got to have kids who want to be here, and want to be a part of the great Nebraska family. We've seen too many players leave lately because they weren't happy here. If Dan is happy here, great. If not, let him be somewhere he wants to be. Let's just hope he realizes that NU is really the best place for him.
  6. Agreed. She really got the RAW end of that deal. ANDDDD.... Gross.
  7. That was a whole different deal. Kid did not do some things that the staff let him know he needed to do in order to keep his offer (a lot like a MInter this year) and thus the offer got pulled. Turns out it was a good decision: http://espn.go.com/college-football/player/gamelog/_/id/521710/shawn-bodtmann
  8. I'd think Rose, Bando, and all the other guys along with the coaches should be able to keep him in the fold. BB is such a ******* ****. We need to form a lynch mob. Only, instead of lynching him, let's all go to Arky and kick him in the balls. Who's in Huskerboard?
  9. I don't think he has any BETTER chance of playing time here than LSU. Les Miles will put the best players he has on the field regardless of class. If Priest comes in that good, he will see a lot of time no matter which school he attends. Assessing his chances of early PT may be difficult due to the number of players (including Willis himself) where there is uncertainty about their ultimate position. Jackson and Rose have both been discussed as possible safeties or CBs. Willis himself could be a CB or a safety. There may still be some uncertainty as to whether Heard remains at RB or switches back to CB. If Rose and Jackson both end up as safties and Heard remains a RB, we will be extremely thin at CB come 2014 and Willis ought to get all the playing time he can handle. I don't think Heard is going anywhere. Most people have said if not for Heard's groin injury he would've stolen a lot more carries from Ameer this year.
  10. Hey, a one Prince Amukamara came to NU as an unpolished 3 star RB recruit. That worked out pretty well for our secondary... Just saying.
  11. I've asked this before: So what can they do about this? We were so close to beating Georgia-GEORGIA! The same team that was only .15 seconds away from being able to play for the national championship!! Yet to read some of the garbage on this board you would think we are the worst team that ever played the game! Our defense is NOT horrible. They played well against Georgia. If Ameer hadn't fumbled we could've very well upset them. We had them sweating for 3 quarters. I'm proud that we are in this group of teams that have won at least 9 games since 2008. That IS elite company. Ok, so we have a lot of work to do but it's getting done. Just think how much Taylor has improved since he started! I don't mind CONSTRUCTIVE criticism of our team but I get so tired of people coming on to the board and dissing our team because they rarely have suggestions as to who we could get to come here and do better and they seldom make any suggestions as to what they think would make this team better. So, I'm asking again: What can they do about this problem of implosion? I think you misunderstood me ladyhawke. I'm a big homer and want us to win every game. I was pleased with the effort against UGA. It was not a blowout as I feared, and I'm pleasantly surprise Ethan we parlayed into recruiting momentum. But To me the Cap 1 Bowl is not as big a game as the B1g Championship, so it didn't mean as much. I don't know what Bo can do to figure out this problem and eliminate the blowouts. I'd look really hard at getting more athletes on D and ball security. Two great places to start. I think he's got to make his system graspable to the point that frosh or sophomore that are superior athletes can get on the field and make plays within the scheme. And the fumbles and muffed punts HAVE TO STOP. Two years now we've been near the worst in the nation at this. But, truth be told, it's not my job to figure that out. I'm not getting the fat coaching salary. It's BO's job. And if HE can't figure it out I don't know how successful he'll be as far as winning the big one at NU.
  12. We gauged his interest, he went to Oregon State. I wasn't a fan. There's a kid from Cali as well we are looking at and haven't offered. He's on the skinnyth side. Ofa Hautau was the name of th kid. Just saw it in rivals database when I was checking to see Collins' rating. Is the Cali kid JUCO or HS EZ? If its a reach and he's not a good get I'd think the staff would be good wit just Collins and Maurice this cycle. Is this not the case? As scary as our depth is right now, between VV, Curry, and th two Dom this year, we have finally gotten some really solid DTs for the future. VV was always a beast, but I personally had concerns about how soon Curry could contribute. Seemed a bit undersized at first to me, but hell we walked into his commit a** backward by hiring Kaz so can't complain. And if my memory serves he was mentioned to get PT before VV this year. What do you make of these four? Do a quick ranking of them? Know I'm not EZ but ranking these 4 I would go as follows: 1a. Curry 1b. Valentine 3. Collins 4. Juice Thx Hedley. Appreciate it. I'd personally have VV ahead of Curry probably, but until they play and we see it on the field. It is really a moot point. You don't seem to piss me off as much as the rest of the board. You did in the beginning, but you've gotten loads better IMO.
  13. Is it weird that every time I hear "Fat Bottomed Girls" by Queen I immediately think of Mike Leach??

  15. The Samoan kid. I forget his name too. Haven't heard jack after our offer... Maybe it was a feeler offer and he had no interest?
  16. All this statistic tells me is that we've been consistently good, but NOT great. Not elite. This season was thrilling, with all the story lines. TMart's improvement, Ameer taking care of business for an injured Rex, the receivers' dominance (specifically Turner busting out), EMart wreaking havoc, all the comebacks. But continue to pee our pants in huge games. We're starting to win some of them, like the game with Michigan for the division. But I don't consider that game on the same level with a showdown with an undefeated OSU or the championship game vs Bucky. Bo continues to let his team get blown out in those games, the ones that would get us over the proverbial hump. FACT. And what is even more disturbing is how sloppy the play is in those games. We're talking about breakdown of fundamentals, terribl angles on D, bad ball security..: you all know what I mean. And, the worst fact of all.. In those losses, the team straight quits. They quit in the Wiscy game. Now, This point is countered by how they would NOT give up in all the comeback games, but still begs the question... Why give up I'm thenB1G championship with all that was on the line? Giving up and loss if fundamentals are not acceptable and lead to blowout, embarrassing losses on national TV like we've all seen too much the last few years. I love Bo. He's doing all the little things, and is doing them right, the Nebraska way, to bring this team back to prominence. Our offense looks terrific (minus the fumbles) and I'm stoked to see what he can do with the influx of young athletic talent coming on the D next year. But we continue to be our own worst enemy and implode in the biggest games, the ones we most need to win to take the next step forward. And as much as I like Bo as a person and a coach, and for all he does right, if he continues to lose those games and in the fashion he has been, I truly don't think any of that will matter.
  17. That comment really had some people upset. In reality though a team does need many different personalities etc. Try to find a MNC team without a few people you wouldn't want to be alone in an alley with. Our team has too have as wide a range of personalities as any other team out there.... Given that we recruit nationally. What the announcer said is offensive, but probably true.... Yeah, but when the meanest players on our team have their DAD watching their every move from the box... Come on I think we need a few more Incognitos or Jason Peters on this team to give it some attitude. At the very least, get a few players that are like Bo on the field... Wear their emotions on their sleeve, get fired up, hold other people ACCOUNTABLE when they screw up (god we need a few of these!), and don't take no sh*t from no one. It was good to see Taylor mix it up and not back down from that asshat safety from UGA. We need more of THAT on this team.
  18. If this guy starts lighting it up with threes in March Madness, I swear I'll... Oh, wait.
  19. Man, at this point we seem a real longshot to land Priest. Yet another big big time player we've come down to the end on and whiffed. Really too bad, because we need playmakers on D no matter the position! He could walk in and compete at safety from day 1 and probably start at corner after a year! Plus Bo would make him into a quality human being and is the best in the biz at putting DB's into the NFL. Meanwhile, Miles is a lying douche who doesn't care about his players (OVERSIGNING-- hint hint Priest), and Mora is gonna bolt to the NFL in the near future. And ASU is ASU-- a football nobody, pretty campus, but a good place to catch the clap. It's such a shame. I think we lose out on PW, though I'd love to eat crow...
