  1. The bounceroosky! Oddly enough, I think that was the last game I went to before I moved. I'm lucky.... I've seen some cool things at the games I've gone to. Yep, I was at that Kansas game the next week too and I think it was 49-7.... then we went and lost to Iowa State (LOL).
  2. Oct 31, 1992 - Nebraska 52, Colorado 7. Where were you? Great article in the Weird-Herald about this one. This game might be somewhat forgotten, if only because of what happened soon after, but at the time, this was a really, really cathartic victory for me. I had grown up being disappointed by losing to Oklahoma every single year and just at the time the Switzer machine fell apart, then all of a sudden we couldn't beat the damn Buffs. I remember watching this on ESPN through the drizzle and just kicking their asses up and down the field, running the last legal fumbleroosky (Will Shields!). The other thing I remember is that this freshman kid named Tommie Frazier was SMOOTH. I really think the seeds of the 60-3 dynasty were planted this night. As a 15 year old, it totally pumped me up, because we had tickets to the Kansas game the next week. My cousin got married on the Friday night and we drove from Wisconsin. That was the first live game I'd seen since I'd moved out of Nebraska several years before. It still probably ranks in my top five satisfying wins, behind only the '95 Orange Bowl and the Texas Big 12 Championship revenge game ('99) and probably along side the '88 Oklahoma game.
  3. Now that I've lived in Denver a few years, I've seen just how little attention they get turns to basically none at all if they aren't any good. They get about 30 seconds on the local news and that's it. They like to take credit for bringing down the Big Red monster.... I like to think this is their punishment. Oblivion.
  4. Watched '96 game on 8th floor of Cather Hall with about 30 guys..... for most of the second half, you could hear a pin drop. That was a nightmare. I'm still trying to convince myself it didn't happen. Ordered a Domino's pizza at 11:30 and ate the whole thing by myself.
  5. We're worried every week. Nice to finally have won the turnover margin, but we still put a couple on the ground.... and the penalties, the penalties. As long as Nebraska continues to play this fundamentally unsound, every game is a fight.
  6. Good things happen when you blitz?
  7. OK, this thread is not allowed next week.....
  8. Here they come! Score here and it's only a seven posession game.
  9. Gotta love-hate with these guys. Huge Packer fan. Lived in that state for 14 years. We all hate each other on Saturdays and love each other on Sundays. Plus I'm a Cardinal fan, not a Brewer fan, so I have fun with that too.
  10. Maybe they should declare Oregon a "rival".
  11. As long as it isn't the guys from the Packers-Seahawks game, or the fat guy with the glasses that screwed us every time we played against a team from Texas, I don't care.
  12. That was my freshman year.... I picked a good one to have student tickets. Everyone was panicking cause the Phillips thing had just happened and Ahman Green hadn't emerged quite yet.... Childs scores on the first play and all around me, people were saying "you know, I think we're gonna be okay."
  13. I think "play like an Osborne team" is more directed at playing clean, inspired, disciplined football and less about the plays being run.
  14. If they want this season to mean anything at all, then I think they have to win it. Otherwise, just treading more water.
  15. Not the victory but the action. People are upset because Nebraska is playing stupid, sloppy, fundamentally un-sound football. Every week. They got away with it yesterday, but it doesn't make it right.
  16. Good to know they can win games like this. Again.... Taylor..... he just tries and tries and tries until good things happen. Yeah, we got some big issues..... the same issues we've had all year, and maybe some new ones (*cough* SPECIAL TEAMS *cough*).... we're fortunate to have gotten away with it a couple of times (today and vs. UW).
  17. I love Taylor Martinez.... I love him not......I love Taylor Martinez.... I love him not.....
  18. Normally, I'd never fire a coach mid-season. But if players are gonna revolt, what chance do we have? I don't care if it's Bo or not.... I just want somebody to be held accountable. It could be Cotton. Program needs a shakeup.
