  1. I could've swore the last two seasons, the Huskers were among the first teams they visited. So I assumed they only saw less than a handful of teams and didn't really look at Michigan, Ohio St. and Penn St. at all. Sorry for the assumption, I'll gladly eat my crow now.
  2. Practicing both LB and Safety? Nathan Gerry = Eric Hagg? Peso package? I like the sound of that.
  3. Jake Long might be ready to go by Aug 31st. Didn't practice today, but coaches feel confident he will be ready for Wyoming. Good news.
  4. Well, how many defensive fronts has Dienhart seen so far on their Big Ten Tour? and who are they?
  5. Is there such a thing has having too much talent at a certain spot on the field?

Its that reason Nick, that I have a feeling that Cross might transfer.

IDK, unlike Heard, this guy is proud to be a Husker. He loves it here, and it shows by his support off the field. I know it sounds odd or strange, but he is always on camera, and you can tell he is happy to be here based off his social media accounts. This is something you didn't see from the other players, including Heard.

Also, Cross doesn't seem like the person to back down from competition. He will get reps, and plenty of them for the rest of his career here, and if he stays healthy, he will get drafted.

  6. 6 carries for 31 yds rushing, inlcuding 1 run for 22 yards. He caught one pass for 7 yds and recovered a fumble from Johnson. He only played 2 series, one in the 3rd where he got 2 carries for 5yds, 3 and out on that series. Then he got another series in the 4th where he had the 22 yd and recovered the fumble.
  7. Kevin Williams probably would not be a starter, but he definitely should have fit into the rotation. So this hurts.
  8. I feel like our TE role has been changing, or at the least, trying to change as we moved from the Big 12 to the Big Ten. In the Big 12, the primary role of the TE was a bigger body to catch the ball, or setup the screen. Now, in the Big Ten we have asked them to take on a more blocking role and still provide options downfield. With a loaded receiving team, I don't see the Tight Ends getting very many catches this season, but I do expect them to play a vital role when it comes to blocking. Not only do we have a young offensive line this year, but we have new tight ends to break in as well.
  9. I heard about the Jared Blum injury over the radio, but Jake Long being out is new to me. Don't forget Sam Cotton has been hindered with a injury as well.
  10. To expand on the "we can barely handle winning" statement. It seems during the preseason, folks come out with their expectations of wins and losses, but once the season begins, it gets fine tuned to points. If we don't blow a certain opponent out of the water like we should, that is where we have a problem. Sometimes I think some folks don't respect other football teams and the fact that they are trying to win as well.

    Manziel

But not the hero America needs right now. I'm sorry, I couldn't help but make that Dark Knight reference.
  12. How many boosters did it take to get callahan and Peterson fired? How many boosters are ticked off with Pelini? Think about that.
  13. OF COURSE WE DON'T HANDLE LOSING WELL! UH DUHHH!
  14. Burkhead averaged 5.8 yds in his first preseason game and had the most rushing yds out of all the other running backs. Well done Rex, keep it up!

  15. Yea, I would like to see an end to the early season loss streak. Texas, Wisconsin, UCLA, V - Tech (2x). I would love to see us 7 - 0 by the time the cruel month of November hits.
  16. Johnny Manziel in trouble? http://espn.go.com/e...ting-autographs
  17. I would really like to see an investment into such a thing. They could make it red and call it Husker Gameday Train.
  18. The plan would be to bitch and complain about how it was a mistake to fire Bo Pelini and move on with our unaccomplished lives.
  19. You really have to wonder, in private, if Bo called him out on some of that sh#t. You know Bo heard some of the things he said, and Bo seems like the kind of guy that would confront someone who had issue with him. Dez is a b!%(h..... What did Dez say? "Dude, I'm sorry about all the crap I gave you and your team last year."
  20. Bo Pelini has to talk up the defense and remain optimistic about it. How would you react if Bo just came out and said "Yea, our defensive line is gonna suck this year" ?
  21. I'm sorry but predicting a starting defense for the beginning of the season and the end of the season is just damn impossible this year. I guarantee you that not all players that will start on defense at the beginning of the season will be starting at the end of the season. Beginning of the season : RE - Jason Ankrah DT - Thaddeus Randle DT - Vincent Valentine LE - Greg McMullen/Avery Moss ROLB - Zaire Anderson MLB - David Santos LOLB - Jared Afalava CB - Josh Mitchell CB - Ciante Evans Nickel - Stanley Baptiste Dime - Mohammed Seisay FS - Corey Cooper SS - Harvey Jackson End of the Season : RE - Jason Ankrah DT - Maliek Collins DT - Aaron Curry LE - Randy Gregory ROLB - Zaire Anderson MLB - David Santos/Michael Rose LOLB - Jared Afalava/Courtney Love CB - Josh Mitchell CB - Ciante Evans Nickel - Mohammed Seisay Dime - Jonathon Rose FS - Corey Cooper SS - Charles Jackson
  22. Trevor Roach was one of the very few who saw playing time at the LB spot.
  23. I kind of feel that Valentine could go either way. He has the best potential out of the all of them, but its potential that he needs to put in the effort to transfer that onto the field. I feel that Valentine could either become someone like Suh, or someone like Peat Jr. ( a highly touted recruit that doesn't work out).
  24. I'm gonna have to say Collins. I'm off the VV train. The coaches seem to favor maturity when it comes to freshman players. From what I have read and learned this offseason, Valentine has a ways to go, while Collins has been praised at being "a grown man". The last time words like that was used to describe an incoming freshman, it was Cross. If was is being said about Collins is true, I feel comfortable saying he sees playing time over Valentine. I really want to see a lot of defensive linemen get rotated into the first 2 games.
  25. I've known a couple of school teachers like that. In fact, in high school someone threw a book at the back of my head while I was "sleeping" and I threw a desk into a wall and slammed the door so hard I broke the glass.
