  1. Seems like less than a year ago there were people worried about Watson getting hired away to be a HC. Funny how things change in such a short time. Wouldn't surprise me to see Wats get the ax. I don't think Bo is the type to hold onto his Cosgrovian OC until the regime tumbles.
  2. Score TDs. That would be a change.
  3. Can he catch? Well sign him up then. Seems to a shortage of Husker WRs who can haul in the ball.
  4. True. Personally, I think Gabbert saw a lot of Lee in himself and got scared. He will excel in mediocrity at MU...... True. But only after big brother graduates.
  5. Slauson and Hickman were both in the 2005 class. At signing time that class seemed to have pretty decent OL recruits. Roark was coming along nicely until injury, right? And Rodney Picou seemed to be a stud. Slauson and Hickman were both solid performers.
  6. Stewart Mandel recognizes that the best player in college football is often somebody other than the QB of the #1 team. Too bad those old codgers at that little club in Manhattan NYC don't understand this.
  7. Charlie Weis? Ha ha! Charlie Frontbutt Weis heads back to the NFL if anything. Besides, if, IF we were going to take on a grossly obese former HC I would rather have Mangino. Weis is too much of a pu&&y. Mangino would eat him for lunch. Well, lunch and supper maybe.
  8. Ha ha! Funniest thread ever. Hey, instead of leaving the Big 12 we should just kick out the four Tejas teams. The we would be the Big 8 again.
  9. It’s not like this offense is a couple of little tweaks away from being good. We got many problems. Our offensive line stinks. We don’t have a QB who can throw the ball with any accuracy. Which doesn’t matter much, since none of our receivers can catch a ball worth a crap. Our RBs seem to fumble at the worst possible times. And when we don’t fumble you can count on a lineman or TE to jump offsides. You can’t pin *all* these things solely on Wats. But between Watson, Cotton and Gilmore, they damn well better figure how to fix some of the offensive crapola that we put on the field this year. It was pathetic.
  10. It would be a great move for Gill. But having him at KU would weaken our recruiting in Texas a bit. Hard to say how much, but it would have an effect on us.
  11. Start with a burger at Rocky’s. Then hit the bars on Mission Blvd.
  12. That drive was McCoy’s last chance at the Heisman. Gomes took it from him like candy from a baby. A baby horse, that is.
  13. $88,000??! Wow!! Hard to believe Cowherd could manage to save three years salary. I guess it doesn’t cost much to live in your mom’s basement. Colin Cowherd. What a tool.
  14. Hey, maybe we should start a thread about how we are the greatest fans in the history of the universe. Instead of some boring subject like whether Jordan Shipley plays tomorrow or not.
  15. A win tomorrow over Tejas would put us in position to grab 2nd place. Michigan is about a decade and two more bad selections at HC away from being in our sights for #1.
  16. I had to re-read that 3 times until I made sense of it. My mind kept getting really confused reading "start rubbing our...in...friends and family members". I hope we don't have any common friends. If he is gonna be rubbing friends members, that is. Ha ha. I'm just kidding. I don't care how much the family and friends members get rubbed.
  17. This is the radio guy the forum is talking about in your link. Could be some legs to this rumor. I would never *hope* that Shipley sits out. But I'm not losing any sleep over whether suits up or not.
  18. Pay $30 cab fare to get home. I’m gonna be celebrating waaaay too much to drive.
  19. ND already spent a fortune decking out the coach's office with extra large furniture for a fat guy. Mangino would be a much better choice than Bo. And he is available. Almost.
  20. Anybody catch this during the MNF Saints v. Patriots game last night? The announcers were talking about how strong the Saints’ O-line is this year, and singled out Carl Nicks for “outstanding play” this season. For an offensive lineman that’s about as good as it gets. Way to go Carl!
  21. The guy was probably pissed off at losing. Once again. That was not Memorial Stadium. Looks like Ames, probably last year.
  22. We could use another invited walk-on kicker. Like the one we got now who’s won a couple of our games this year.
  23. Ha ha! Funniest. Post. Evar. Asante plays hard and hits hard. We need MORE guys who hit like a freight train. Guys who make the QB go into his slide a couple of yards early.
  24. I am unaware of this "T.U." thing. Can you enlighten me? t.u.: Derogatory name for The University of Texas at Austin, normally abbreviated UT, the main rival school to Texas A&M University. Aggies maintain that UT is "a" university in Texas not "the" university of Texas. The t.u. therefore stands for "texas university", with the lowercase letters being an added insult. t.u., whorns, sips/t-sips, UTerus...all "insults" from inferior schools. It's like me saying "Texas vs. The Bugeaters" Ha ha! So you are saying that calling UT the whorns, sips/t-sips, UTerus, etc. is like others calling us the Bugeaters? Dude, the Bugeaters was out MASCOT in the early days of NU football. We embrace the Bugeaters. I am a Bugeater football fan. On every Husker board some person has the Bugeater moniker. So does that mean UT wants to be called whorns, sips/t-sips, UTerus, TU, short horns? Are you getting any of this whorn boy??
  25. Winning, walk-on program, I hear you. Sprinkling option sets? That's what I don't get. Put a product on the field that works. Why are style points ever so dear to Nebraska fans? Why can we never be happy unless our offense has a little bit of "the old days" in it? You all see how well the option is working for us now. I don't know why style points are so important to the rank and file NU fan. But they are. And it seems like a lot of NU fans have the notion that NU simply has to run the option. HAS to run it. Or it's not Nebraska football. This sort of thinking is baloney. Sure, I enjoy watching an option play unfold. It's a thing of beauty. But I thought Shawn Watson fielded some great offensive schemes back in 2006 and 2007. Didn't see many option sets back then. And we seemed to find the endzone quite regularly.
