Sadly, I called it in November. 5 wins in conference. Nailed it. I think NU will be a lot closer to 5 conference wins than they will be 11 conference wins for the years to come.

If you are a Husker Basketball Fan...you 100% should want him back. Look...I know the guy is a super spaz and a turnover machine...BUT...that is on Miles to coach that out of him. Calpo gets SUPER high ego guys with all sorts of craptastic attitudes and he beats it out of them...so does every other coach that is recruiting and getting high level players. With that said...if I am TP...I do a grad-transfer and get the hell out of Nebraska where many fans have already kind of soured on him. I transfer over to Baylor...get on a real team...make the dance and head off to play in the D-league or overseas making 5K a week with no expenses at all.

This should not have been a huge letdown but that 8-1 run last year got people so excited. You have the entire team back so it looks like they are going to be really good but I think a lot of you guys knew, deep down, that it would be a struggle to hit 20 wins, right? I think that most of you knew it would be difficult to get to .500 in conference games right? I think that it was the non-conference that set the tone.

That was the right call. 8 seconds is plenty of time to grab the rebound and go the length of the court. Just didn't execute (or was fouled on the rebound). You always extend the game.

The Tinker Case...Supreme Court ruled that if the speech is NOT disruptive the students can stay...if it is disruptive the school can do what they need to do. Skokie Case...Nazi's had the right to march in Skokie IL, even though that town has a huge Jewish population. Judges look at each case individually...in school cases (most of them) the general rule is that if it is not disruptive it is okay... Interesting side story: 16 year old boy at a high school near a marine base (where most of the boys had Marine parents and were planning to enlist themselves) decides he wants to start wearing a "Marines Are Dumb" shirt to school... The principal pulls the kid aside and says "Son, I am gonna want you to change that shirt or turn it inside out" The kid, of course, being a jackass says "I don't have to, it is my right to wear it, the Bill of Rights protects my freedom of expression" The principal replies "Yep, I know it does...the problem is...I can't protect you once you walk off the school property and about 15 soon-to-be marines decide they want to beat the piss out of you" Principal made him put a new shirt on...did he "infringe" on his rights? Sure...did he save the kid an ass beating? Yep.

Isn't that the very reason it's in the constitution. I'm talking from a legal aspect. Yes it will have consequences outside of the courts on personal levels, but as a public institution as OU is, I would find it hard to believe that the student couldn't win a legal battle of sorts. Any lawyers on the board help out?? Could he make a colorable argument that this "hate speech" might be protected? Yes. And the University's defense would be "we were harmed by his speech" and that would be the end of it. It's not that he's not allowed to say it. He's facing the consequences of damaging someone for having said it. Yep! He/they are more than welcome to apply and attend other colleges/universities.

If you do, and someone is injured as a result of your actions, you can be prosecuted. In much the same way, this person's actions injured the university. You can take your pick of how they were injured - reputation, loss of students enrollment... whatever. They could come up with a list if they chose. That damage is real, and has consequences. This idiot is suffering those consequences. The First Amendment does not give us carte blanche to say anything we want, wherever we want, however we want, without consequences. There are limits to everything. Mav is correct...

Praise and excitement for the new staff does not have to be taken as a knock on their predecessors. It doesn't have to be. There are plenty of examples where that may be the case but we don't have to go making up more. It wasn't a knock on any coaches...it was a joke about the fans.

I think some of you guys are acting like the last staff was telling the RB's to take hand-offs with their feet.

Miles gets a lot of T's (if you consider what he has as a lot) for this reason 1. He is a nice guy so when he "goes off" it seems out of the norm

Come on Hammond is a Freshman who needs to add muscle and Michael can shoot the ball & rebound. You are expecting way too much from a freshman, we are not Kansas or Kentucky. No, I am not expecting anything from them...Well...Not Hammond or this guy. Morrow will end up playing a ton in his career.
