    I don't follow chess at all and Bobby Fischer is pretty much the only name (besides some Russian guy, the name escapes me right now) I have known but this, I think, will actually do some good.

    I was surprised that they take their title away but I guess if you think about it in a weird way that will help with the press/publicity.

    These 3 are what most normal people believe, no matter if they want to admit it or not. Now, on #2 I am more of a "everyone should pay a flat tax" but really other than that this is a A+ post.

    Wisconsin is getting better but I do think the magic of Bo Ryan is finally gone. PSU is odd... Iowa can score but they don't look all that great Illinois will turnover Nebraska about 25 times...the issue will be if Nebraska can turn them over too. Neither team has an inside presence Can't figure out Indiana at all.

    Is it that the movie isn't all that great or is it that the expectations are just so high? I feel like they writers almost need to consult star wars fans when they do their writing...There is just so much that they can cover that it must be difficult to fit it all in.

    I think 5 for sure...Just because there is going to be a team that finishes 5th in conference. But as far as guessing who, no clue right now. I could see OSU, like you said, getting in.

    With more and more "secret" scrimmages vs other teams in basketball I think it will just be a matter of time until it happens with football. My thoughts at NU...scrimmage (like you said) a lower school...charge admission for the "game" 1 dollar per ticket. During the game at the end of each quarter raffle off 1000 dollars in "husker dollars" or even real money to a lucky fan. Make it awesome for the fans I wish we changed our to a "Beer Scrimmage"

    Dang, 3? That is nice! Yeah, I never call them soap scrimmages, years ago an old coach on our staff always called it that. I never heard of that name!

    That is true but from a coaching standpoint using "live bullets" so to speak is usually the best way to see how things are going.

      I agree. He was exceptional in GWH and should have won the Oscar for Best Actor for Dead Poets Society.

      I did not think about that but you are right.  Was he nominated for Dead Poets?  I don't remember...wow so I just looked up the 1990 Oscars...WOW.  I personally think Morgan Freeman should have won best actor for Driving Miss Daisy but Williams winning would have been just fine with me.

       

      Then for best supporting actor...Washington winning makes sense, he was great, but Aykroyd in Driving Miss Daisy was sooooooooooo good.

      I don't watch the Oscars anymore. The crap Holkywood has been cranking out the past few years has been awful. All we get are tired remakes or yet another sequel to something that's been done to death.  I prefer some of the British films that are out right now. Foreign films tend to pay more attention to character development than domestic films do.  Just my opinion.

    Every year we do our "soap" scrimmage (I hate that term) and we have done it different ways. But my favorite way that we have done is is either with a captains draft or we (the coaches) draft the teams. We want them as even as possible, I would rather have competition. I think competition makes you better.

    Yeah, I agree...it is like when one head coach jocks up another head coach...even though the head coach he is jocking up is horrible. They stick together. I think S&C coaching is more about the attitude and accountability part...in the end a bench press rep at NU is the same as it is at every school.

    Ahhhh, the guilt trip followed by the nasty...I don't blame you for not wanting that. If it gets to that just leave.

    Good question, I am not sure how he did it but I would guess he will run it as close to a game as he can.

    I get that but it doesn't take "time and patience" to beat NW, IL, Minny, Purdue, Rutgers, Maryland, Indiana, Iowa...It doesn't take time and patience to win your crappy non-conference games. The 9 wins (our patience) are there...the rest of it...beating Wisconsin or Michigan or OSU or PSU or MSU (I don't think much of them actually) that is where there might need to be some time.
