  1. First time I got high I drove up Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park. All it did was make me extremely paranoid and careful. Yeah, I've driven when I was high. And I've driven when I've been drinking. Neither is a good idea. Probably true, but there is no comparison. Being drunk is far worse than being high when it comes to driving. I dunno. It depends on how high you are. I've seen people so high that they couldn't remember their own name. Never seen a drunk that couldn't remember his (or her) name. Just sayin.. Shoot, they are saying that texting is more of an impairment than being drunk while you drive. That's against the law in many places too. And it should be. And I do it like crazy...
  2. Bingo on the bolded part. It is rather annoying reading some of this dribble considering everything that went down a couple of decades ago. I don't know how "protected" the athletes are today by the police in Lincoln, but back then they were rather protected. Anyone remember Farley's first DUI? He got caught earlier in the night and taken home. He'd have never even gotten a DUI if he'd just have come back in the morning to get his car. He went back later that night and was then pulled over again before even getting a DUI. Until I read about Riley going and interviewing sexual assault victims questioning their testimony, I'm not going to buy into this hack reporting about accountability. From things I heard the Lincoln Police started cracking down more about 15 years ago, not sure if they got a new boss or if that is just a bunch of BS. I am sure some cops enjoy busting players and I am sure some hate it.

Gin. I used to love the taste of gin. Now it just doesn't do anything for me. I can take it or leave it.

  5. While I was in college there is only one of my friends that waited until he was 21 to drink. Other than that we all drank or smoked weed Maybe not every day maybe not every weekend but still a lot. I'm not saying that makes it right and I'm not saying that the rules don't apply I'm just saying that's what it is.
  6. Exactly, it's not a problem it is just being in college.
  7. This is 100% true...and it scares the hell out of certain people
  8. How many recruits do you think give a verbal just to sort of troll the school?

I think other schools get in their ear. I'll be a lot of sh#t goes on in recruiting that we never hear about.

I love reading the shady recruiting stories… I wish more would come out

None. I think when they commit they are aligned, then they get woo'd by someone else. Honestly I commend Goodrich's dad for trying to slow him down and take a breath before jumping the gun. And Keyshawn saying that once he commits it's locked. Nothing good comes of backing out.

  9. Man, there is not much worse than a sick pet. You do all you can to help them out but you have no clue if what you are doing is helping.

  10. It is a pretty common theme these day.
  11. For our older posters...was getting in trouble for pot even an issue on college campuses 30 years ago?

  13. Like I said...I don't use it at all but I just don't see why it isn't legal. I might use it from time to time if it was legal in my state, I am not really sure. Probably depends on the price!
  14. I totally agree and I actually brought that up a long time ago in another thread and you seemed to not agree at that time (different topic) It is nice to see that people can change their minds. You'll have to pull up the conversation you're talking about, or you're talking out your ass. I haven't changed my opinion on pot in a long time. I said it was a different topic, not pot, but about laws and how some laws maybe should not be. I applaud you for it! I think the odd thing with pot is that people of all ages seem to be okay with it being legal.
  15. I totally agree and I actually brought that up a long time ago in another thread and you seemed to not agree at that time (different topic) It is nice to see that people can change their minds. I, at one time, would have been totally against legalizing pot...I have tried 1/2 of an edible once...it made me tired...I went to bed. That was it. I didn't really care for it one way or another. But I am all for legalizing it. For the non-users...like myself, do you guys care if it is legal or not?
  16. while I agree with you teach, and have no problem with Keyshawn consuming the herb personally, there are probably other things Key could do for fun besides getting high that is not football related lol Ha...I know... I almost feel for some of these players now. They have almost no privacy anymore. They go to a bar...have a beer in their hand and next thing you know it is all over twitter.
  17. Can we start a "The players should be robots" thread? Because some of us seem to think they should be lifting and when not lifting they should be looking at film and when not looking at film they should be studying their playbook and that when they are eating they should also be lifting.
  18. I bet you were the life of the party in college. What so many people here forget is that college is a place you have fun. It's not like he's getting caught smoking meth for Christ sakes. I get the importance of putting the team first but let kids be kids I agree...and lets face it...the team is doing this...the guys on the team are drinking, partying, smoking... How many times should most of us been ticketed while in college? I bet mine was well into the 100's for underage drinking and then later buying for minors when I was 21 and had roomies that were 20 You always say this, but were we or you on the football team on a full-ride with a different set of standard and expectations? Sorry but it's different. It isn't different. Those guys party all the time. What % of players on the team do you think drink/smoke even during the season? Be honest. Is the expectation different...sure. Does it stop them...nope

Ha! Well...I guess we know the real reason he was "taking notes"

  21. online at the test sites, instead of fill in the bubbles and read from this test booklet. Instant results. Easier for alot of students not just ones trying to skate by. Yep! That is what I meant. Heck...even online at school not just at testing sites. Seems like a no brainer to me.
  22. Since the end of 2016, we have upgraded to a top-flight defensive coordinator (and are paying him handsomely), switched to a defense that better fits our bevy of linebackers, and also picked up Donte Williams, who has been recruiting like a madman since he arrived. Not to mention we now have a QB that not only fits Riley's system, but also had a year to redshirt and develop chemistry with teammates like JD Spielman. That doesn't sound like a team on the decline to me. That sounds like a team making moves to get better. Exactly! A better and more experienced coaching staff with the players they want. 10 wins or canning.
