We know how this goes...in 6 weeks no one will care or even talk about it anymore. It is really amazing how fast these things happen, become a HUGE issue and then are forgotten.

No doubt. The past few years he's been really high on NU and we never lived up to the hype. I put no faith in his comments. Blah, blah, blah Yeah, he has usually been super hot on the huskers. I was surprised to hear him talk to the way he did today. Not that he's right or wrong about it just surprising.

How this post didn't shoot down about 90% of the posters in this thread amazes me. Great post. To the people that feel like this impacts them becuase they are such a super fan, well, wow. I'm also impressed with the amount of keyboard doctors we have… I can't wait to make a post one day about how I have a slight headache so that I can be told I have a tumor the size of a grapefruit in my brain.

I thought about this and thinking back to all the coaches I ever had it would not have bothered one one tiny bit if any of them had troubles with the law. I would not try less, I would not give less effort I would not tune him out. Now, if my coach was a horrible coach and telling me "when you make a tackle be sure to duck your head and exposed the crown of your helmet, sure you might get paralyzed but it is how I teach it" then I would have issues.

You could be right, but I sure hope you aren't. Personally I don't think I've ever even been above .08 3 times in my entire life, but I am always terrified of the idea of driving a vehicle if I've been drinking much at all and avoid it at all costs. If you are right, I hope something can be a wake-up call for people. If it isn't Erin Sorenson having to deal with physical/emotional scars for the rest of her life while barely surviving, if it isn't the potential dismantling of our recruiting class and loss of one of our best position coaches, if it isn't losing a loved one, what will wake people up to take this seriously? My mom would drive drunk all the time as a kid. Every weekend I'd wait on the apartment complex stairs balling my eyes out, convinced that this was the time that she got into trouble or got hurt. I'm so glad she never did, but that fear of always worrying about her is what did it for me. I hope people can figure out not to mess with this stuff without having something drastic occur. I'm well over 21, but haven't ever drank because someone in my family has negatively impacted me as they have also gotten third DUI this year. So yeah, Bugeater's wrong. Good for you!
