  1. if 2 DUI's weren't enough to keep Nebraska from hiring him, I think he keeps his job with a 3rd.
  2. One thing is for sure... He'll be satisfied with his combine results if he does well in at least 9 of the 13 drills.
  3. Watch the films... I like Easton Stick too, but he is not the athlete this kid is. Well, hopefully he can catch if that's the thinking.
  4. I dont get how this kid would get an offer over an in-state kid like Easton Stick, but I guess that's why Pelini makes the big bucks and not me...
  5. This class still has plenty enough pieces to win 8 games in each of the next Forever years.
  6. If the kid is a Christian and his faith is important to him, I'm pretty sure Ron Brown bats .100 in those conditions. oh yea, because Jesus lives in Lincoln. I forgot
  7. What if it was Bo HIMSELF????!!!!! then the university could profit on a movie version, with an ending like Fight Club

I boo'd and left early. 2 first for me
  9. I would guess we'll stick with him, injury or not. He can go on a medical exemption if he needs to (I believe). They'll have a decent idea in a couple weeks as to what the doctors suggest. Just have to wait and see what they tell him. If it's iffy, I'm sure we'll do some more looking. I agree that we will most likely stick with him..... But is that always the smart thing to do? They need to start looking at if this is his first Concussion or injury like this. I think our QB position is in good hands for the next 4-5 years. So we will see what happens we could (easton) stick with him. or not..
  10. he was pretty far below average last year in Arizona
  11. saying "agility doesnt really matter in a running back" is like saying "throwing doesnt really matter in a quarterback".
  12. why dont we just call him a mixture of Barry Sanders, Bo Jackson, Emmit Smith, and Jim Brown?
  13. Lets be honest here. Nebraska's running game will not change one bit without Heard next year. If you really are a fan of his, you will support this decision so he can get some playing time somewhere else, and maybe a shot at the pro's
  14. I think it was fairly obvious that Callahan was after offensive stats as oppose to wins in his last days in Lincoln, which to me, means sabotage.
  15. I read somewhere that Tim Brown was down to Nebraska or Notre Dame.
  16. The board is in desperate need of a big commit to calm things down around here. Grown men dont call people "pussies" online.
  17. saying that it's a win to simply get him on campus is like saying it was a win since we at least got to play in camp randall and the big house last year....we're better than that.
  18. if people are worried about their draft stock, then we made a mistake in recruiting them.
  19. That is unfortunate and rather selfish to be honest. one could just as easily call the player selfish for taking a visit during the season. (if it interferes with games or practices) But high school is high school. It's a stepping stone for your future - for all students. It's not a job and it's not permanent. Kids should be taking these opportunities to visit and I agree with EZ completely here. It is no different than any non-scholarship athlete that takes some time off of high school to visit colleges, or misses multiple days of college to visit graduate schools. The coach IMO should be giving his kids as many opportunities as possible, not restricting them in any way. But of course, I don't know the precise circumstances. He may have his reasons. yet , the only person with an actual job here is the coach himself. i agree completely that it is a coaches job to promote your kids as much as possible for future possibilities, but he's the only person who can get fired here. I'm willing to bet that 99% of high school coaches frown upon their student athletes missing school and practice for personal school visits that could be made when school is not in session. A suspension (one game or one half) in the kids next game would be completely justified in my opinion, if the kid misses enough time. It should all be the coaches personal choice depending on the circumstances. ...so, if I understand you correctly - you agree that it is the coach being selfish, because he's the one with his job on the line worrying about #1. When you look at how a lot of official visits are structured, the kids don't miss any games or practices. They either catch a red eye late that Friday night, or they catch an early morning flight. They then fly home that Sunday afternoon. So they miss no games or even practices. EZ's post is exactly correct. I was merely pointing out a possible negative situation that a coach would have to deal with. It would be putting words in my mouth to say that i called anyone specifically "selfish". I can see the kids point of view as easily as i can see the coaches point of view.
