  1. They must be in Bo's doghouse. Lots of guys go there. Also, why do we burn redshirts on guys at a position where we're stacked - RB, and cling to redshirts on guys at thin position - DL. Seriously. Heard and Green barely play this year and can't redshirt and we need Peat, Guy, or Williams to play but are saving them for some reason. Nonsensical.
  2. That right there is the statement of the day. I honestly don't know if he is or is not capable of that. He works for Tom Osborne. What turned Osborne into a great coach was when he made big philosophical changes in recruiting and in scheme. Maybe it will rub off. I'm not real confident it will though.
  3. Bo doesn't fully prepare his players for every single game. Only some of them. That's not good enough. Bo doesn't fully recruit the best players he can at every position. He over recruits certain positions (DB, RB) while others are undermanned (DL, QB). Not good enough. Bo loves to scheme and yell. Hates everything else about being head coach. Not good enough. Bo is a good head coach, but will never be great unless he makes some serious philosophical changes.
  4. Jerry Kill coached me when I was in high school. He wasn't my high school coach, but was the coach at the D2 school in my town at the time and regularly volunteered and came to our practices. Great guy. I know he's not a Husker, but it's timely for this week.
  5. For our student section? The nosebleeds.
  6. Worst Solich life playcall: The decision to get passed out drunk behind the wheel of a car. Best Solich playcall: Stuntz pass to Crouch Worst Solich football playcall: All the rest of them.
  7. Just have to mention Zac Taylor. Tough as nails.
  8. I love listening to Jim Rome. I think he is excellent at what he does and definitely has good things to say about Nebraska. That said I wouldn't cosider him a credible source when it comes to college football news and recruiting. Great show? Absolutely. Deep analysis? Not really.
  9. USF would be a great job. I'd hate to see him go, but wouldn't blame him one bit for wanting to go to a place like South Florida. Haven't heard from Tyrone Hughes in a while.
  10. And then he was taken in the second round of the 95 draft.
  11. God is numbers. Not God is in numbers, but God is numbers. I'm no math wiz, but think about it. Numbers are perfect. They always equal out. Without numbers or math our world would not make sense. The advancement of mankind since the beginning of time is based on his ability to understand, make sense of, and manipulate numbers. The world is based on numbers. If the numbers don't add up, everything turns to sh#t. I'm still working on this theory, but I like it so far. I also like that it doesn't contradict the Bible as far I as I've gotten.
  12. This kind of diminishes the magic for me. I thought Tuffy was our very own. It's like finding out your girlfriend cheated on you with the basketball team. I like that he makes the rounds. Like a minstrel show for Columbia MU. Plus, you know he'll be back when it's time. You can't cage a bird like Tuff Tiger. You have to let him be free.
  13. I think he's exactly right. We've missed on a few offensive players with this class, but even those guys weren't all that exciting to me. Nebraska just doesn't have the national presence yet that brings in the elite skill position (QB, WR, RB specifically) kids. We need to be on TV a lot more. Not PPV, real TV. Bo's doing a great job getting some killer defensive players, but to take the next step he's got to bring in some big time athletes on offense. I'd say we're real close though, and a top 15 class next year would really put us in the top tier of teams in the country.
  14. Eh. That could just be a hookah and tobacco. When I was at UNL a few years ago that was surprisingly popular. (it probably is exactly what you think it is . . . but we'd be jumping to conclusions.) Wearing sunglasses inside while smoking doesn't necessarily mean anything, but...
  15. I listen to the podcast of USC, but I do need to take a break from it once in a while.
  16. His arm died. That's what he said after the game anyway.
  17. If you're thinking of Briscoe it maybe because he is a junior I don't know if they invite under classmen or not. I think the deadline to declare is this week. After they've all declared, the juniors then get their invites. Monday I believe.
  18. Sometimes the need to act fast leads you to the obvious choice. No need to overanalyze the candidates, Muschamp should be their guy.
  19. I bet Dillard gets picked on the first day. Dillard will have to have a huge showing to be a first day guy. He is listed as a the 15 - 20th ILB available. Not to be an ass...but he would have to be Superman at the combine to go first day... Remember, the format has been changed... 1st Round - Thursday Night 2nd-3rd Rounds - Friday Night 4th-7th - Saturday Oh yeah. Anyway, I'm betting he does have a huge showing at the combine. Also, there were NFL scouts galore watching Nebraska's games this year to get a look at Suh. I wouldn't be surprised if some of those scouts ended up with a very positive view of Phil's abilities. But probably not first round, so I guess not first day.
  20. Hunh? Miami had 3 different head coaches in that time span. Different era. The talent was more concentrated back then so different kinds of coaches were able to succeed.
  21. WOW and just four posts up. Obviously I didn't read your post. Did you want me cite you as a source now?
  22. its according to espns big 12 blogger tim griffin, who said this was discussed amongst all the big espn college football reporters when they met together at one of the bcs sites press happenings. they met up to hash out espns preseason poll, and #9 is where they collectively had the skers. Cool!
