  1. My memory is a little different on the subject. Berringer's only D1 scholly offer to play football was from Nebraska. He never even would have been given a scholly except for the fact that he attended a football camp at Nebraska where he lit it up. When Mike Grant was struggling, I don't recall there ever being any discussion whatsoever who was going to come in and relieve him. If there was any question at all, redshirt freshman Berringer would have been given the nod rather than true freshman Frazier. Had Frazier not gone down to bloodclots, most NU fans wouldn't even have known who Berringer was. And ganz never would have played except for a collar bone break....this conversation is dumb.
  2. The process if fairly simple, you call and place your name on the waiting list for tickets. Slowly over time they become available to the list. Now tickets are given to current season ticket holders first if they want them and they can make the donation. The donation for any ticket is a minimum of 150$ per seat on top of face value. This is the list any ticket holder will be on. Example being I have my four seat when the stadium expanded, two years ago when I called about an away game, they offered me two tickets right across the isle from my set of four, this was before they were available to the list. I took those tickets as well. Your best course of action is to get your name on the list. Plus it never hurts to bug them that's how you can get single game tickets sometimes. Second you start to build your "points" based on donations over time, these points allow you to get premium away seats and single game tickets before they are available to the public. The hardest part is to get your first ticket, then after that you get way more opportunities, what I would do is try to get 1 season ticket or buy single tickets from the ticket office so your account starts to see activity and points, if they know you will buy then they will sell to. I actually used to only get away tickets and single tickets from the office which is wayyyyyyyyyyy cheaper and easier.
  3. I bet you 1000 dollars that does not happen at safety.
  4. All I have to say is you sure are nuts, the two Missouri passes to Niles were not wobbling or him waiting and they were perfect and by the way it was the middle of a monsoon, I was there. Bud your boy Cody got rocked in the OU game, and he struggled against a Baylor, who is the worst in the league, is there no coincidence in this start? And Martinez has never seen the field, and no we still would have lost to Iowa state and texas tech. Is it Zacs fault that Roy fumbles the ball 700 times, or Niles drops a ball and doesn't go after a fumble. Nope, you sir are funny.
  5. It doesn't matter where your seat is man, any freakin seat is good, cause your in the Stadium. People are so concered with where they sit. When I sold soda when I was kid I had the best seat because no one could tell me to sit down. The best seats at the Gator bowl were all the way at the top where no one would yell at you. By the way if you can't see something there is a TV the size of aircraft carrier there to. And your left arm is worth a game ticket. You need to get some lift my man!
  6. I agree, anyone who says black is gets a huge , its red and if the other team wears red to then ok. You always wear red always always always. I never wore black for the blackouts when i was a student because its stupid, end of story.
  7. He knows more about football than most of us here at HuskerBoard combined. Don't kid yourself that he's a moron - he's a very sharp, very talented guy. He's not a natural radio host and his show was raw. But if you'd rather hear football from broadcast school graduates, that's your thing. I'd rather hear it from the guys who actually played, and if those guys are former Huskers, all the better. He never talked about football just how badass he was when he played, and no his knowledge of the rules is not good. He had no idea the Halo rule was not in effect 2 years ago. I'm sorry hes not a good radio host, to proof pretty sure he got fired for low ratings because all he did was yell, like I said if you want good stuff listen to Omaha. I'm done with this.
  8. Who cares he is freaking MORON, his knowledge of the game of football and its rules is horrible. I hope to never have to listen to him yell and berate another radio co-host again, "Well when I played...." "Shut up NANCY, did you play football? Huh? What was that? I'll break you right now.....", boring and terrible radio host. Now Shick and Nick those guys are HILARIOUS. That is NOT NICE!
  9. How in the world can you put Joshua Mitchell on the roster without him playing? And you do not have Andrew Green who will play some good time this year in a backup capacity.
  10. Quit critiquing everything and just have fun with it, no one is losing site of any game. Let them pump it up. let everyone talk let them be jealous of the love we are getting, let them hate us once more, I LOVE IT, make it the biggest game of the year, the year we have to play in "two" big 12 title games, to take the rights forever. Sit down, crack the beer and wait for a great party. Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesh. And the Draake marketing company makes great promo videos, Husker Experience Room is something you all should do on a boring Tuesday at lunch or something.
  11. This game was extremely loud, there was a Colorado game in 2000 where Brown hit a field goal with no time left, after Carlos Polk had returned a pick for a TD and spiked the ball (which he called before the game). That was a 4th quarter miracle and it was super loud that day and Barrnett broke his clipboard. HA
  12. How about you come to a game and just witness the pageantry and glory and heavenly goodness you will find stepping into the most glorious stadium in the world, sitting next to fan that dislikes your team very much but will say please and thank you. And having your team in a 3rd in 10 down and 3 in the forth while your quarterback is trying to bark calls that no one hears while they are in the snake pit of south stadium. Might want to send your coach an e-mail too, don't let your team out onto the field before the tunnel walk if you don't want them to have to change jock straps before kick-off. RIGHT (By the way guys, the shoe thing? Done way before at other colleges)
  13. Glad to have you here. I'm not sure how many, but if I had to guess I'd say between 10-15k? That'd put us between 90-95k capacity. All the numbers I've heard floated around campus this summer have been between 5-7.5k. This would expand the east stadium seating to be on par with the west stadium and add additional private/corporate sky boxes. If you think about it, most games average between 85-86k, adding another official 6k would make our official listed capacity 87k, but games would then hold around 93-94k. Also the number stated by the ath department was that there are 3k on the waiting list for tickets? How is this so low? Most people I know wait years for their tickets, I assumed the list was at least 15-20k. When the hated man Steve built the new seats there were about 10000 people on the list. The stadium will not expand until the are absolutely positive the seats will get sold. Season tickets are expensive, and the cost of a street ticket has dropped dramatically since the new seats opened. Contrary to popular belief the street price of a ticket is very important to a university, they must remain high because ticket price on face value will have to fall if there are too many seats. Project also will not be done till about three years after they start. Even more off some of the new seats in the north are no donation seats, if you build more seats and ask for a donation on top I doubt you will have 4000 people paying face plus a donation. Lastly club seat ticket holders, i.e. docters, lawyers, rich turds and the like are never there at the start and leave before the forth quarter so who want those losers in the stadium anyway, it might hurt their legs if they have to stand for more then five minutes a game. Expansion will not happen for at least 5 years, and probably longer.
  14. No doubt in that statement about Zac "Ruthless Pump Fake" Lee
  15. Well we know you did NOT watch the Ohio State/USC game last year! 18-15 winning on a last minute drive...yeah that's HARDLY slapping someone around like a little bunch of girls. USC took it to us big time in the 2008 matchup when they beat us at the coliseum 35-3 but anyone who knows football knows USC didn't dominate last years game whatsoever. That game was lost by Tressel with his "kick a FG instead of scoring TD's" theory while Carroll went on 4th downs regardless of the placement. You might wanna get level headed and not become like Michigan fans who thought it was their' right of passage just because of the name of the University. Cause if you think you're coming in the Big Ten and just gonna own teams like Ohio State, Penn State, Wisconsin, Iowa, and Michigan(if they improve) then you got a serious rude awakening coming. These aren't no doormat teams. I know plenty of Husker fans who aren't thinking in this type of light and to them i say "Welcome to the Big Ten" and i'm esctatic for the future of this conference with Nebraska joining. Hopefully Mizzou, Kansas, and ND come join too...i hope Sorry to break it to you, but your slow players will have no chance against our speed, your defenses will have no stopping power because you will have to play one linebacker all the time. Second off try to score a touchdown against Bo Pelini, just see how hard it is when you face about 4 third downs on every drive. Welcome to the BigNebraska conferencek, and yes there are doormat teams in the league it will just be hard to realize your one of them. HA. Ok that may have been harsh, its all in good fun, don't take me to seriously.
  16. This sucks is going to be much more expensive to go to away games now. Hope we win the last big12 title
  17. I kindly disagree with assessment that Kinnie is better then Niles as a Junior. Just sayin that Kinnie won't have the stats this year that Niles had last year, and I do not believe he is as fast. Some game changing performances might change my opinion. And the big 10 sucks
  18. College kid and a beer? Never should happen. I hope all those skybox owners that somehow have a bar in their box take notice. No beer for anyone in the football program. Guys from the Osborne era would have brawls on O St. way worse than this.
  19. College kids like to party, whats the big deal, not driving not a problem.
  20. He will have to prove alot to be upper, examples of quick success like Larry Cocker ( I don't know if I spelled that right, old Miami dude) come to mind. Long term, long term, long term. Its like saying Kiffen is elite when the douche has done nothing, or Richey Rich, or Slick Rick or whoever. And no more personal fouls on himself ever would be great.
  21. Pretty sure the running backs mainly Roy Sissy Helu lost us the Iowa State game.
