Hard to compare. Both should be taken into a field, handed a shovel, and told to start digging. Once they're done, the penal system then only need to waste a bullet and the time it takes to fill the hole back in.

I had a hard time justifying an answer to myself. You kill someone, they're dead.. it is a horrible action but by molesting them, that could be a slow death. I would say Holmes, but Sandusky mentally killed a lot of young boys.
