  1. This years defense and last year's offense against 07 Kansas and 07 Missouri wouldve resulted in a couple of 45-10 wins. Those two teams in 07 were a joke. Missouri only lost to Oklahoma twice, and Kansas didnt have to play either Texas or Oklahoma. They were good teams with explosive offenses, but they did find out you still have to have a D to win the big ones. Not to mention the other 4 teams in the North that year were in the toilet.
  2. His 47 yarder would've been good from 62 yards. That had at least 15 more yards on it. 62? I say 70. After watching a replay of the game, the damn ball was still not on the way down when it went thru the posts. Just amazing.
  3. osborn was not too smart recommending solich as head coach..or have you forgotten...that was one of his few mistakes I don't think that Dr Tom was the AD when Solich was hired. I do think Dr Tom was instrumental in hiring Bo Polini two years ago. I think when Dr Tom recommended Solich as his replacement back in 2003 it was out of loyalty. Polini didn't have any the experience or tenure/history that Solich had. I have been happy all day that Dr Tom made this hire. I hope I don't get hammered for mis-spelling a word or last name. I'm not gonna hammer you for misspellings, but rather your facts. It was actually in 1997 that Tom recomended Solich as his replacement.
  4. Some of you critics are just stupid. Yes, STUPID. You can leave now and go run your head into a wall. I commend Zac for his toughness all year. Once this came out yesterday, I wasnt really surprised. We all know Pelini does not let injuries become an excuse (alla helu situaition mid-season) And honestly. go back and watch the first two games how Zach played, and then the rest of the season, and sunbelt or not, there was a problem.
  5. They're gonna be better. it's that simple, and yes, even the O-line.
  6. I've been sayin that since the Oklahoma game, knowin that with the defense "fixed", Bo and Shawn would tear into the offense. Everyone said I was an idiot, pretty much the same ones that said we'd be lucky to make a bowl game after the Iowa St. disaster. After these last two games, and seeing considerable offensive improvement in 3.5 weeks against a substantial defense, i think it's a definite possibility, if not a certainty.
  7. Just not good enuff to be nominated for a Ray Guy or Groza award, or even an all big 12 spot.
  8. Anyone notice Alex's field goal kick was still on the way up when it went thru the uprights, from 46 yerds. MY LAND I say we let him try a 70 yarder sometime, just for sh#ts
  9. Or when BArAck ObAmA gets his "f***meinthe***" care, football like many other physical sports will just be outlawed due to the risk of someone gettin hurt. Remember the movie "Demolition Man". That's what we're headed for.
  10. i havent seen one of these yet, and ive always wanted to be the one to do it first on a thread HERE GOES
  11. Personally, I'm kinda proud of Sam. You know the NCAA is gettin some money for the realistic looks in these video games, how is it they can copy every single detail of a player, sell it for millions upon 10's of millions upon 100's of millions of $ each year, but yet the player or university doesnt collect a cent (someone correct me if i'm incorrect on this). I THINK IT'S bullsh#t, and yet a player gets suspended and the school get tv appearences and scholarships taken away if he wipes his ass in the wrong direction. THE NCAA IS A CROOK FACTION AND NEEDS SOMEONE TO SUE THEM A TIME OR TWO.
  12. Wrong, the end of Nebraska's tradition came in the 99 and 2000 recruting classes, wasting numerous scholarships on walkon caliber cuz Frank couldnt "close the deal" by 2002 and 03 and even into 04 (say what you want about Callahan, i hate him too, but there was also a huge talent deficiency) the chickens had come home to roost. Colorado just happened to be the one to expose, then Miami, Penn St. and Iowa St. just drove it into the ground. Frank knows football. No one can argue that. But he is just not the guy that can walk into a room and bring a talented kid into this state. Recruiting to Nebraska is a big challenge of the job, and I believe Bo has what it takes.
  13. My family doctor has a 70 and 71 that he's shown me, funny we were just talkin about this the other day. Neat to see that kind of stuff.
  14. Congdon was a solid and accurate Kicker but I will never forget the 47 yard that he DID NOT get to try cuz Callahan "knew what his range was, and it was outside of it". f-you Billber. Lets just go for it on 4th and 17 then, odds are much better there.
  15. I dont know the facts of this, and I dont care. Bottom line is, theyre not goin. TOO DAMN BAD. You want a band, plug in your frickin Ipod (whatever the hell that is) and turn it to "Husker Song" and listen to it for yourself.
  16. So you meat to tell me that this Frank guy that coaches Ohio is the same Frank Solich who played fullback for Nebraska in the 60's? Wow, nice to see someone like that finally get into coaching.
  17. Asante would be a sh**ty NFL player, he's such an idiotic thug who does nothing to help his team in making bonehead plays. Just trying to figger out where all the Asanted Haters are, WHERE YOU AT GUYS?
  18. Who is this "Frank" guy everyone's talking about, and what the hell is "Fighting Frankies"?, and why are we so worried about Ohio all a sudden
  19. When they say spread, i'm pretty sure it's not gonna be a 5 wide Texas Tech throw the ball 60 times a game spread. It's gonna be a balance system, but the thing is, to run the ball 50 times a game these days and have it be effective and to do it 10 years are two far different philosiphies. Now-a-days, you just cant line up and run someone over cuz your stronger, everyone had figgered out the weight and conditioning secrets. So what he have to do now is spread the field and put the ball in the hands of a quick back like helu and force guys to make tackles in space but yet have competant receivers to provide a downfield threat to take pressure off. It's working at a lot of top programs right now. Problem this year was it was discovered right away that our personnel was too banged up and too inexperienced fromt top to bottom, and after the Iowa St. disaster it was decided to get the ball out the hands of our QBs, line up power sets, get our 14 points, dont screw sh#t up and get the W. I personally think this will work, it did last year, and it will again. This was just a bad year for the offense from injuries, and not just Helu and burkhead, but at one time, I think the Oklahoma game, 4 of the 5 olineman were fighting some type of aggrevation while playin. Things will be fine.
  20. just throwin this in there, at some point in time, Anthony Blue has to be healthy and start to live up to his potential.
  21. I like to spend time reading on boards of other teams in the big 12, and honestly ive never seen a fan base more envious of another program/fan base as i have Kansas St. of Nebraska. funny you go to ksufans and you see nothing but stories about nebraska recruiting this, that, turner gill this, that, Pelini this and that.
  22. It goes far beyond locations for football games and location of headquarters. When the Big 12 was formed and bi-laws were devised, Texas and some other Texas schools got their way, plain and simple. The most disturbing was pointed out in Osborne's last book after he retired, regarding academic requirements and recruiting, basically the Big 12 did not follow suit of any other conference and made their own requirements in full advantage of the Texas programs. I do not know the exact details of these bi-laws, but as i said, it is in Osborne's book, and they in every sense of the word made it easier for Texas, because of their location and way of doing things compared to the rest, to gain advantage in many areas. I have always believed in this favoring Texas crap, but I also believe that it is what it is, either beat it or leave. I say we just beat the f'ers.

  24. Yep, we packem in, if you dont like it, stay home and "sit on the rocks"
  25. That's who I was trying to think of earlier, I knew we had a better running back to choose from, and dont forget, Buckhalter and Alexander were seniors in 2000 along with Vandenbosch, so they should be mentioned a bit too.
