  1. Not to sure but I think his sister goes to Florida. Don't think that's a really big part of his recruitment, but hearing how your sister is enjoying college life at that school can't be a bad thing for Florida. It's hard to say but I think his recruitment comes down to us, Stanford, and Notre Dame.
  2. First question, what was your sign? Second, anyone have any information on Kenny Bell? It looks like he'd be great back there from his recruiting videos, but I also know that he at least pulled something in the summer. Know he's redshirting, but would like some more info.
  3. I think it all depends on how Dennard is graded out and where people have him projected to go in the draft. I think he needs to get stronger and better in his run defense. He needs to learn how to better get off a WR's block, have seen that he sometimes gets swallowed up by the blocks. Once he gets up to the NFL it gets that much harder. As a cover corner, he's definitely a top 5 CB, but I think he's in the same position that Suh was. He's probably good enough to go after this year, but he'd probably benefit from another year in college.
  4. Haven't seen Corey play, but he does look like he has all the tools to be a great Safety. It really all depends on how he's taken to the playbook. But right now the only thing holding Smith back from starting is his lack of tackling starting with the Texas game. Before that he looked like an absolute stud, with Hagg leaving we're probably looking at Cassidy taking over his spot (if we don't just move David over and start a combination of Compton, Martin, Whaley, and Fisher at LBs). In fact that's probably a better formation to use than using a DB in that position.
  5. I'd like to either see a double pass to the QB side, a screen to Martinez, or just a go route by Martinez and for Rex to just throw it up to him and hope for the best.
  6. Smith was doing alright until he started missing tackles along with the rest of the secondary, except he didn't improve his tackling like the rest of the other starters. He's still playing, and I do think once he gets rid of whatever's wrong with his tackling he'll get back into the lineup.
  7. If Watson leaves and takes on of our O coordinators with him, I think we make a move to bring Scott Frost into the program. Not as OC, still a little young and in need of a couple more years of coaching experience, but bringing him in and having him bring some of Oregon's blur offense with him.
  8. Think SJB is learning the mental part of the offense and just isn't there yet. He did come in later than the rest of the 2010 recruits (at least I think so).
  9. Enunwa and SJB look like they might be our #2 and 3 receivers next year, Enunwa definitely.
  10. This was a very frustrating day, heck I don't think anyone watching the game as a husker fan couldn't feel it. So if you were actually apart of the team it would be even more frustrating. Pelini wanted his team to play better and they just weren't, had to be killing him. I say as long as he doesn't pull a Bob Knight or Woody Hayes on one of our players or a ref I don't have any problems.
  11. Just win baby, as long as we keep winning things will work out.
  12. He had that really good drive that lead to our 3rd touchdown to bring the game to 24-10. Something like 3 3rd and longs that he converted. He didn't throw the ball perfectly right on the numbers, but outside of a couple of his passes I thought they were all catchable balls. He was 7-12 throwing with at least 1 drop and only 1 really bad throw that got away from him. It really sounded like the wind was brutal (broadcast showed a Henery practice kick that was crazy). I really don't know what you expect from the kid but I thought he put together an admirable start. I do want to see him hold onto the ball better though.
  13. Just win baby, that's all I have to say. It wasn't pretty but at least we are walking out of Ames with a W in our back pocket. Very disappointed with how the game played out, but we still only have 1 loss and I'm happy for that. We still control whether we go to the Big XII championship game. That's what we want, we want to win the Big XII. All the NC talk was just frosting on the cake, but the cake is still looking pretty good. Having said that we cannot come out and play like this in any of our other games, especially against A&M. We might be able to get away with it against Kansas and Colorado, but I'd rather not see it. Also while Green played alright (not great, but not bad like some people might say) it's VERY easy to see just what Martinez does for our offense. Just his explosiveness opens up the whole offense.
  14. No Rodriguez played earlier in the year during the preseason.
  15. Missouri isn't conductive to really use our Peso formation with the 2 LBs, what with spreading the field like they did. I see Compton getting more playing time this week and Gomes rotating back to a Safety spot.
  16. Couple nuggets from Bill Simmons' weekly NFL column
  17. If he stays for the experience instead of transferring to play somewhere else (unless he wins the QB job), I'm going to wait for the game that he has to come off the bench to drive the team to a win. It's going to be in his Senior year and we're going to sit in awe and applaud him that much harder. And Husker Nation will remember him forever.
  18. He was brought in and then there was a penalty or we called a time out or something and Roy took it on himself to go back in and get a first down (it was a 3rd and 3 I think). Yeah there was nothing wrong with Rex, it's just Roy was the very hot hand. Probably going to see more of Rex this week though, Roy has had problems stringing together multiple great games in a row with a lot of carries.
  19. Saw the fumble return and found it funny, he's going in and Moss hits him as hard as he can, Suh just turns around and looks at him like a bug and trots into the end zone.
  20. The Texas USC game was a great played game, but it was made even more epic by Keith Jackson announcing it.
  21. Is there a reason why Moore is now a 78 rated 3 star on the ESPN ratings? I mean has he not been performing as well as previous years or something?
  22. I think the initial reaction goes back to it being similar to the Asante hit during the Oklahoma game last year. He's jacked about the hit but didn't know just how bad the kid had been hurt. You could probably find a number of more suspendable hits than this one.
  23. Again if they kid had gotten up right away (or at least not been carted off the field) then nothing would've came from it, maybe just a note to say to try not to do it. Add to it all the talk in the NFL and it makes it look worse than it actually was. The play doesn't warrant a suspension by following the letter of the Big 12 law (heck even the spirit). He led with his shoulder and they banged helmets, it's not like he speared the guy.
  24. However you look at it there was more shoulder then helmet, but since there's been a greater emphasis of those types of hits (hitting a defenseless player) then it's going to happen. It's crap yeah, and if the kid hadn't been hurt and had just popped right up, then nothing further would've been done.
