  1. Minnesota, but I was a big Bills fan when they were running with 4 straight. Though I guess that's not a good comparison since I was living in Utah at the time. But I've been Minnesota exclusively since they had their 15-1 year (also helps that pretty much all of my family lives in Minnesota).
  2. ask and you might like the answer don't ask and you will never know Oh it's not like I'm saying we don't pursue, just pointing out that we probably have a long uphill road if we're going to get him.
  3. Problems though is that he's from Alabama. Going to be hard to even get a sniff at him with him being in Alabama's backyard. But he does look like he'll be something special.
  4. One thing I noticed is that there were a lot of fumbles in the video, a number that are counted to him.
  5. You can't teach speed though. Sure you can run a perfect 40, but that'd only probably take half a tenth to a tenth off of your time. So if the recruiting sites put up that the kid runs a 4.4, I'm going to say that he's probably running anywhere between 4.4 and 4.6. But yes you shouldn't put too much into the 40, but it does give you an indication at just how fast a kid can be.
  6. I think the biggest argument (besides just saying something to sell their article) is that when you looked at Suh there were a lot of times where he got his sacks by bull rushing the O-lineman and just powering his way to the QB. Will that translate to the NFL? Who knows but seeing his production in college with that style (his most productive games were against the best teams) you'd think he'd at least be OK in the NFL. Really it's hard to believe some of the things coming out of people's mouths. What were Asante's and Dillard's numbers? I've looked, I just haven't found anything.
  7. Asante just ran a 4.69 40. Didn't look 4.69 but you don't know, I'm calling BS right now. Looked more like in the 4.5s or something but I'm going to guarantee it wasn't that high.
  8. I liked West back in '07 or '08, seemed like he was the best CB we had, only problem was that he had absolutely zero ball skills. He'd be in position to make the play, but then he'd do nothing, or lose track of the ball and give up the play. Might be the problems he now has with his confidence.
  9. I wouldn't mind him on the Vikings. He might not be the best cover guy, but I think he'd be really good as a center-field free safety, or in the Tampa 2 scheme. He definitely has the mind to play, but I think he's just right on the edge of being athletic enough to play.
  10. Hey moon what does your sig pic come from?
  11. Any news on if Green is coming? Knew he said he was going to try to make it to Junior Day, but said he was more likely going to go to the Game.
  12. It's on practically every game break when they play the NU basketball games on Fox Sports Net. I laughed when I first saw it in a holy sh#t way.
  13. I think it'd be great to grab anyone we want from the KC area, but it might be more realistic if we could go in there and just pluck the players we want from the area, and we have first picks of the players.
  14. If I was the Big XII I'd push hard to try to get a deal done with NBC. Right now the only college football games that NBC plays are Notre Dame games, which Notre Dame hasn't been able to produce for NBC. To be the only school with a deal with NBC is kind of ridiculous. Sure it was viable when they were averaging 9 or 10 wins a season throughout the 90s and then the early 00s, but they haven't done anything in a while. A Big XII NBC deal in 2012 will force Notre Dame to look more seriously about joining the Big 10, giving the Big 10 their conference championship. Add to that the 4 major networks would each have at least one BCS conference games exclusively. (CBS the SEC, ESPN/ABC the Big 10, Fox Sports the Pac 10 (though that's split between them and ESPN/ABC), then in the future NBC the Big XII) I think if we're going to see something really big with College Football (whether it goes to a playoff or not and what's going to happen with BCS conference expansion) will be decided during the 2012 season. Why? Because everyone's TV deals expire at that time.
  15. The writer expects us to lose one game next year, doesn't matter which one, just doesn't think we can run the table. All of our games are winnable but I think the realistic wins prediction should be at 10-2. I expect we'll have a game where we go wtf just happened (similar to Mizzou 2 years ago and TTech this past year, but the final score will be closer than the 21 and 35 or whatever it was for those games). Then we'll lose to either Okie State or A&M on the road, it won't be both, it'll only be one. I'm penciling Texas as a win because the game will feel similar to the Oklahoma game this year. The crowd will be absolutely jacked, and I don't think they'll let Nebraska lose.
  16. I think we should wait until we see how Lee recovers from his surgery. Perfectly healthy he is the front runner. While he wasn't exceptionally good last year, he did show he can make good decisions and make plays, he just needs to do it consistently every game.
  17. My brother played Elementary School B-Ball against Ty Steinkuhler, pretty sure he played a couple years against him in middle school football before the Steinkuhler's moved to Lincoln. Lived up in Minnesota for my 3rd grade year and my brother's the same age as Swift. From what I understand is that my brothers class was the next class down from Swift's. I think they ended up going out to recess together a lot, but I don't know haven't talked to my brother about that for a while. Biggest celebrity connection for my family would be my cousin playing for the Bruins in the NHL.
  18. We haven't written off Compton yet, just think his skill set fits more with a 4-3 than the Dime we ran pretty much the whole Big 12 season last year.
  19. I don't see why Trev can't be UNL's next AD. Everything I've heard about the job he's been doing at UNO has been positive (though I haven't heard a whole bunch). He's very passionate about the job and very active with the boosters. Would he be able to translate what success he's gotten into success at a major University it's hard to tell.
  20. WR's your optimal size will be the 6'3"-6'5", but you're mostly looking at speed, route running, and overall quickness. Look at what Jackson did for the Eagles this year, and if you got what he has no matter your size, you could succeed pretty much anywhere. CB's probably in the 6'0"-6'2" range. Any taller and I guess the general consensus is that your body gets stiffer and you can't make the cuts the CBs need to stay with receivers. A lot of the CB position is the CB turning their hips and being able to react and run with WRs. Any shorter and the CB will have trouble guarding the taller WRs. RBs any taller than 6'2 or 6'3 and they might as well be either WRs or TEs. QBs can practically be any size, but with the sizes of today's O-linemen any shorter that what Brees is and they'll start having trouble seeing over them and to the receivers.
  21. Just who are they going to get to cover the Big XII though? Exactly where is the guy going to come from? Which paper did they grab from? I really wouldn't be surprised if the new guy ended up being from the Dallas/Fort Worth area seeing as there's ESPN Dallas. But I guess we'll just wait and see.
  22. I think the Lions have the tools to become competitive soon, probably just one more productive. Stafford seems poised to become a good QB, they have a top 5 receiver in Johnson, a good TE in Pettigrew, then they have an LB, D-lineman, and DB that were very productive last year. They just need to improve in areas to become a playoff contending team. But their probably 1 year off of becoming a team that wins 6-8 games witht he personel they have now.
  23. If Texas leaves I don't see them bringing Oklahoma with them anywhere and the Big XII might start looking like the Big 8 with Nebraska and Oklahoma in the North and South. If the MWC keeps growing the way they've been (add at least Fresno and Boise from the WAC) then I don't think the Big XII would be able to get any teams from that conference and might have to look East to Conference USA. Houston would be a good team to bring in for football (also gives us a foothold in the Houston market we'd lose if Texas), Memphis would be good for Basketball (though might not be good for football). If Texas does leave the conference it won't be the death of it, but I do think there might be a couple years to get things settled (especially if more than just Texas leaves).
  24. I think that ESPN should move to division coverage as opposed to full conference coverage. So you have one guy covering the Big XII North, and then one guy covering the South. Do the same for the ACC and SEC, or maybe get a neutral guy to cover the Big XII because Griffin's has a bias for Texas that's far and above all the other writers on ESPN can say. Siefert's bad with his bias of the Vikings in the NFC North blog, but he still provides good stories about the other 3 teams in the division. That and he openly admits to being a Vikings fan and makes a joke about it, so I have no problem if the writer has a bias just as long as they can get good stories about the rest of the teams they are supposed to be covering.
  25. I think our future QBs are going to be very similar to Carnes and Turner. 6'-6'2" guys that are shifty runners and fast. After watching his tape I think he's got a very real shot at maybe starting or at least seeing time in the second half of the season (when he gets the offense down, or they're going to redshirt him). Then unless Green makes great strides this year I see him being the front runner heading into 2011. 4:45 of his tape is definitely the most athletic play.
