84-90 - Pistons, Celtics or Lakers won every title

91-98 - Bulls won 6 of 8 titles, Rockets the other 2

99-14 - Spurs, Lakers, and Heat won 13 of 15 titles

15-17 - Warriors and Cavs have won all the titles

But Cavs-Warriors is different, somehow.

All professional sports know the key to success is having one or two dominant franchises every year. . Interest is created when fans outside the home team see a dominant team loaded with "evil" players. They show up in the seats to see if maybe the home team can overcome the odds and beat the bullies.
