Too many hypotheticals for me to say that the kick cost us the game; moreso than clock management or Reed's penalty.

I should have probably added this in the OP: I fully realize that it's going to get better from this point on. There's a ton of things to build upon going forward, even if Martinez misses an extended period of time. I was just taken aback by the coincidences that lined up between this game, and some of the more common games of the Pelini era.

...it's because we've seen it before. Think of it this way: watch the game without sound, and ignore the shots to the sideline. What are you reminded of? Occasionally explosive offense? Aggressive defense? Silly mistakes by both players and staff that ultimately cost the team a game it should have won? An electric quarterback named Martinez who can't finish a game without getting hurt? It was almost the perfect encapsulation of a Bo Pelini game.

Depends on how long Martinez is out.
