  1. Does anyone know if their student section is assigned seating or is first-come first-served like most places? I'm needing an odd number of tickets and thinking the best thing to do might be get a bunch of student tickets so we can all sit together
  2. Try these on: I understand the joke, but I wont go to a game without my wife. If she doesnt want to go, then I wont go. I hope I never turn out like this. A bunch of my college buddies get together every year for an away game and the only two rules are no wives/gfs and party like we're back in college. There are just some things that are better left as guy events. That being said, we took our trip to Northwestern this year but decided on a whim to hit the game Friday... unfortunately since it's not our official trip we're bringing the ladies. It will be fun, sure, but it's not going to be the same. You have to tame things down with them around.
  3. Rosenthal doesn't sit courside, he sits pretty high up. Is getting home 10 minutes quicker really worth missing the last 6 minutes of a one possession game? That makes zero sense to me. Every other point you made seems to back his rant... you paid for your tickets, you walked all the way from your parking spot, you paid for over-priced food, you've sat through crap games, why not reward yourself by watching the end of a close game - the best part of the game? I'm not attacking you personally, just throwing out hypotheticals, I understand the point you were trying to make. Anyway, if there are students on here, I urge you to contact the university and ask them to do some promotion for students. If you are not a student, I urge you to get a ticket lined up for this game, bring some friends, and contact the university and ask them to run a promotion. The place needs to be packed. I don't think the game atmosphere is what's going to sell Webster, but I'd hate to wake up the 4th and find out he didn't sign and then wonder if it's because the atmosphere was so bad. This is the "break" the last two coaches haven't gotten, and we know how those tenures ended. Get this kid here, pack the Bob.
  4. Maybe it's just the number, but as a huge Vikings fan that watches AP every week, I see a little bit of him in this kid. Obviously he's nowhere near the power-freak, but with his frame he could easily become very powerful as he matures in a division I program. His jump cuts and the way he slashes through holes just remind me a bit of the greatest RB to ever play the game...
  5. This team's success can't be based on wins. In years past, there was one noticable flaw with Doc's teams. I know people say it was talent - but I slightly disagree. Doc brought in some guys that could play basketball - not blue chippers, but could have become BCS Conference level players. The problem was, no one ever developed. Doc didn't leave the cupboards bare, he left a couple smashed granola bars. If Miles can take those smashed granola bars and turn them into oatmeal and bananas by the end of the year, it was a success. I think we're already seeing a little bit of this in Ubel, Gallegos, Talley and Rivers. What you hope is that by the end of the year you have a team still playing for their coach even tho it was a devastating year, and you have players coming back next year that you say: 'ok, with them and the new guys, next year has some promise.'
  6. F*** YES! There's a loop hole. The NCAA allows three weeks for the university to file the LOI. If Webster signs it on the 21st, he can bring it with him to his visit on the 3rd and if he decides this is his place, he can hand it to them and they'll get it filed in time. This is huge! And in terms of taking more guys - Miles will be taking a big or two. Perhaps a guy like Atewe. As I said earlier, you'd like to hope Webster signs, and these three have huge seasons so Miles can use that to sell a big recruit on the talent he has coming in and steal away a big guy this spring.
  7. Not liking this at all.... thrilled about Fuller and Hawkins, but this program needs a Tai Webster-like player and to get him in your first real recruiting class would be a HUGE leap forward in building a program. This could be the difference in a 3-4 year build v. a 6-7 year build.
  8. I'm gonna crack open a bottle of jack here pretty quick if we don't start hearing about faxes rolling in
  9. We got the new facilities. We got the new coach. We got the new staff. They got the commits. Tomorrow, they get the signatures. Tomorrow is a huge day if all 3 sign. They are all expected to, but I won't feel comfortable until all three have been faxed in. The hope would be these three (assuming Webster makes it over here to play prep ball) have huge seasons and Miles is able to sway a couple big men by showing them the talent he is bringing in. If Webster comes over and plays his way into a top 50 ranking as many have said he will, that would give Miles a huge boost in getting a TALENTED big. It all starts tomorrow.
  10. I'll only go to one of these if the morons putting ponies in their sigs are required to show up wearing pony attire, that way the real world can see their douchey-ness. Kill the ponies.
  11. Watch the video, that kid is speaking from the heart, not cause a coach told him to.
  12. It's funny, all along I've thought it was a touchdown. This has actually put a shred of doubt in my mind. Right before the frame freezes, you see some movement of the ball. It looks to me like right before the nose reaches the plane, Santos hits it with his hand and the ball's course is altered slightly. I had never seen it until watching this view. I still think it probably should have been a touchdown, but thought it was funny that this clip that would prove it once and for all is actually what has caused me to doubt it a little bit.
  13. I like the B1G and think the move needed to be made. However, I miss Big 12 football. I grew up making fun of Big 10 football and, unfortunately, this is one of those years that the conference is living up to it's reputation. And no, I'm not just talking about wanting to see offense, I like good defensive play, but the lack of athletes makes for some boring games. Absolutely love BTN.
  14. Had a HC change while I was playing. First two years under a coach that screamed at us but also let us know he'd do anything for us we went to playoffs consecutive years. Last two years under a coach that showed no emotion what-so-ever we won 3 games. I understand winning does something to shape the opinion of a coach, but in the locker room it's not all about wins and losses. My first coach had a relationship with us where we respected him because he respected us and when he got in your face and made you want to do better, didn't change how we felt about him. I never put a finger in his face cause that's not how I was raised, but we had a couple guys who got pretty darn close to that point and he handled correctly - which is the same way Bo did. He knew it was a heat of the moment thing, and in those moments the rules change. In the course of a game, the line can change and no longer be at drawn at listening and answering respectively, instead it may be drawn at walking off the field and quitting, anything less than that is acceptable. It may look bad to fans, but it worked extremely well for our team and it obviously worked Saturday as Bo changed his calls and Stafford went from playing sub-par to having a pretty darn good second half.
  15. I'd love to see a Rivers or Gallegos get going early, starting tonight. We pretty well know what we're going to get from the main 3, but if one of the other guys with a little experience could flip a switch it would help dramatically going forward. That being said: Ubel 17, Talley 15, Gallegos 12, Rivers 10, AA 9 (he could put up 50 tonight if he would play 3/4 of the game but with wanting to get Vucetic experience and saving AA knees, I think he'll see somewhat limited action)
  16. The pessimist in me (which is quite strong after 25+ years of Nebrasketball) says Miles finally made it official because he found out Webster isn't signing early and he's going to need a reliable guard for a couple more years
  17. I would like to be able to have a beer while at the game, but if it would lead to a Creighton crowd I say no way. Yeah, yeah, they are usually among the tops in the nation for attendance and it does get loud there, but don't let anyone fool you: that is not a "great" crowd. The arena is less than half full until tipoff and doesn't completely fill in until many minutes into the game. It is a social even for nearly half the people there, I do not want that. I'd take 7,000 sober diehards over 14,000 tipsy casuals any day of the week... but that's just me.
  18. 1-Sit and talk with Dan in a sale barn someday, he doesn't have some huge joke with the rest of the world about how dumb Nebraskans are... he truely is a rural Nebraskan and he just hams it up a bit for his act. 2-If you are going to let a non-Nebraskan get your panties in a bunch by saying "Larry the Cable Guy says you guys are hicks" then you are beyond help.
  19. So I just watched the replay on BTN2Go and beginning at 5:15 left in the 3rd you can see the ref moving back the media and then it appears he kicks someone behind him but it is very difficult to see and it happens a split second before the camera angle changes. If you subscribe to a cable/dish provider that has access to BTN2Go you can view the game replay at http://www.btn2go.co...school/nebraska and then fast forward to 1:40:00 and watch the left side of the screen where the media sits. I had to rewind it several times to see it. Just watched this. That's crazy, he definitely put some "umph" into that kick. What a prick
  20. It was not straight up two gap the whole game as they had been playing previously. The last two games they've started showing some more one gap look. In the two gap the d-linemen are getting the offensive lines shoulders turned trying to force movement to the outsides, letting linebackers fit in the creases that are created. In the one gap we've started to see, the dlinemen are hitting a specific gap and getting more vertical and the linebackers are fitting to a specific gap. The one gap showing would be the biggest reason you're starting to hear some people say "they're finally turning the dline loose" or "the dline is finally getting a push". It's because they've started filling one specific gap and are trying to get vertical as opposed to turning shoulders and letting LBs make plays.
  21. Will there be any basketball conversations taking place? If so, I'm there
  22. Two weeks away from early signing, I suggest everyone start praying every night that all the guys sign. I'm getting more and more nervous about Webster, he's been getting some serious pressure to not sign just yet and it's only going to ramp up even more these next couple weeks.
  23. After hearing about the ISU scrimmage and finding out that Gallegos is a main perimeter shooter, I'm dropping my prediction by a win or two. I was probably the highest person on Gallegos when he committed and he's done nothing but make me look stupid, so for now I'm going to remain skeptical and say if they're depending on him, it's going to be even rougher than I originally thought.
