  1. I think the problem lies in the fact that some players are still wishing Riley was the coach. I think a few of these players are on the offensive line. Beating us horribly is way more fun for Michigan than beating smu, especially since ESPN was continually running the story about 20 years ago. Truth is, Michigan is light years ahead of us in talent and stability in coaching. Realistically this should have been our first loss, and it would have been ugly regardless what happened previously in the season. If we were 3-0 going into this game it would have been a horrible slap in the face. It is what it is. We need time. We need to bench some of the ineffective line and give someone else a shot. We need experience. This is a rebuild , like it or not, it is going to take a few years before we see a successful product. If we see no progress by years end, then there may be a problem. Until then we can just watch and hope for the best (I still think we see a completely different team next week and going forward) this is rock bottom
  2. And you think the talent issue and the horrible coaching these players have received over the last 3-4 years can be reversed in 9 months? Take a breath and look at the reality of the situation, this is going to take some time. This whole GIVE ME SUCCESS NOW! thing is ridiculous. Devaney wasn’t successful overnight, Osborne was criticized for years. Be an Alabama fan of you want immediate success. Otherwise you need to give him some time. Chase him out and you will se how s#!tty we can really become.
  3. And you are free to cheer for any other team, however don’t jump back on the bandwagon once it’s turned around. This is going to take time. If you don’t understand that, you don’t understand football. He inherited a s#!tshow, this will not be an overnight turn around. Be patient, bide your time and smile knowingly at the losses knowing that the future is bright. This is rock bottom. Ask any addict, need to hit rock bottom before recovery occurs. There are literally over 100 other teams to be a fan of, move on if necessary
  4. Hopefully we won’t turn it over...always a factor. If we don’t we can win.
  5. I still think 6-6 is possible. We can win most of our remaining games (not osu) this game was exactly the wrong team at the wrong time. This is the best team we play other than osu, that defense is perfectly matched to expose our weaknesses
  6. True, the oline was terrible all game. Still percentage wise not a good call.
  7. I am not losing faith, but there are some play calls that make no sense. Rolling a right handed qb to the left on a 3rd and 3 against a fast aggressive defense? It just doesn’t compute. It is difficult for a qb to throw against his body, everyone knows this, right?
  8. This is what used to happen when other teams played us, we need to get back there. It takes time to establish a new culture, it does not happen overnight, as much as we would like it to. We need to get back there, and I still believe we will. We cannot judge the turn around on three games, it will take time. A killer mentality does not happen overnight. ( I live in michigan) as I told a wolverine fan friend of mine, get your hits in now, it won’t last long
  9. Like I said, their d line is nasty our o line sucks. Story of the game. It was ugly. On to next week, we can win this one
  10. No. There was a stat in the game: 38 true freshman, 50 new players o. The roster total. This is a process. We are also a game behind.......it will get better. Keep the faith!
  11. I think this game was a wake up call. Now the ta knows who they are, no more hype. We can win every game left on our schedule, except for osu. It’s growing time. Michigan is superior to us right now, so is osu. Everyone else is on our plane. Play to our level and we can win
  12. We aren’t there yet. Next week, we are a different team. From there on out, we are I. Good shape. We lose at osu, every other game we can win
  13. I firgured today to be a humbling day. I think we win next week and go on a streak.
  14. As much as I would love this, have you seen Michigan’s d line? Have you seen our o line? Unless they have suddenly figured everything out, whoever our qb is will be running for their lives and pulling turf from their helmet all day long. I have a bad feeling this one will be ugly
  15. Yup, just a different level of athlete. I wonder how many of our best would even start on some of these teams. It’s gonna take time....
  16. Thanks, I’ll pay for it twice as hard tomorrow. Enjoying the hell out of osu vs tcu. These teams are on a different plane than we are
  17. I voted offense D defense C st F the offense was pretty bad. The only real positive I saw was Washington. The line was awful, bunch was extremely mediocre, the receivers were meh, the play calling was bad. Not a good day from the unit i expected to carry the team. the defense was pretty good, however, costly penalties and giving up big plays and penalties, nuff said. I do like the aggression and think there is a lot of positives from the d. st.....missed field goals, 10 yard punts, giving up a punt return td, no significant returns. Our special teams continue to be the suckiest bunch of sucks that ever sucked. Have we even attempted a punt return in the last 3 years? Seriously?
  18. Got another question to ponder: I have a friend that has season tickets to michigan and offered me his tickets to the game next week for free. It is about a 2 hour drive, I have to find a babysitter and it will probably be a add whipping. Right now I really don’t think I’m going to go, too much of a hassle to go get harassed and watch my team be embarrassing, plus I’ve been there before (the last time the huskers were embarrassed there). Am I crazy for not going?
  19. I learned that even at 44, I can still get drunk twice in one day.
  20. I’m not saying we are going to win the West this year, but I think the light will go on and we will win some of our remaining games. You misunderstood what I was saying I think. I bet next year we are in the race for the west and see a marked improvement. I see year 3 as the year we have a real shot at something special, although 4 or 5 is possible too. I just think if Martinez can stay healthy with the core of young talent he has around him, plus any incoming talent, it will happen sooner rather than later also, since our starting qb was out we still haven’t really seen this offense grow and move as it’s supposed to. It’s not like this was an established unit plugging in a new qb, everything is still new to these guys and losing Martinez pauses the learning curve
  21. We are not far away, you can almost see shades of a good team underneath all the deadly mistakes. At moments the team looks brilliant, just keeps shooting themselves in the foot. Eventually it will click, when it does this team will be dangerous. Not having our starting qb was obviously huge. Next week will be ugly unless the online gets their heads out of their rears. After that, I bet we see some success
  22. I think more of the blame goes to our “veteran” offensive line. They were getting used all day when they should have stepped up their game to help the 2nd string guy. They looked horrible. Michigan is going to have a field day against them, that will be ugly.
  23. Bunch aside, same s#!t as last week. Stupid penalties, turnovers, and piss poor play calling. Going to be a long year
