I agree, the only real shocker would be Ohio state, I think we have a fair shot in the rest of them. I really don’t think michigan is going to be all that great, I would put Wisconsin ahead of them and probably MSU too

I don't think he has connections with all the recruits, but he probably has a lot of connections within different teams and is able to get a little more insight that way. He can probably talk to members of staff and get some info on what the recruit said to them and things like that.

I just get so sick of this idea that if a kid isn't 100% all "N" that we should cut them loose or move on as if we have the luxury of too many athletes banging down our door. We have no idea what is going through their heads, and it is their choice.

so, don't ever fight for any recruits? Only accept the ones that see Nebraska as the only program in the world? Seems like a poor way to recruit. This is what recruiting is all about, like it or not, showing the recruits that they are important and winning them over. If you think top athletes are going to just take a look at our history, tradition, and "the Nebraska Way" and all of the sudden become 100% never look at another school. "Commitment" is not a binding agreement in the world of recruiting, despite what some people want, its like a promise ring.

Exactly, these are kids. It’s cool and fun to dress up in any teams gear. I would put on as many of them as I could, and get as many visits as I could. Get an inside view of all the great stadium and facilities. Geez, people need to remember this is a once in a lifetime experience for these kids, they should take every advantage they can, it will never happen to them again and most people never get to experience even one school like this.

I really don’t think frost is staying. If he was he would have signed the extension and made it public. Stringing the whole thing out would not only hurt his hometown team, but also his own recruiting efforts at ucf. He gains nothing by letting speculation run rampant and then staying at ucf. Instability is a momentum killer.

Because we have been burned so many times before, it’s natural to be a little timid around the stove.

Any idea who that may be? I think frost is the best answer for us right now, not the only one, but he best. He can reunite the fan base, bring some stability back to the program (think he would be given plenty of time to prove himself since he is a native son) and return some Nebraska values to the program. Hopefully he pans out to be a genius and gets us back to a national power. But if not, at least it will get us out of this negative coaching cycle

I really wanted him to be successful too, I think everyone did. Imagine the fairy tale if he would have been the one to resurrect the program. Nice, total class, greatly respected, comes in and makes a blue blood back into a national power and rides off into the sunset. It would have been awesome. I wish him nothing but the best, now it’s time to move on.

I had a good idea what wa going to happen in the nebraska game, so I invested my afternoon watching the UCF game instead. Call it curiosity. I learned that it can still be fun to watch a football game and that I haven’t enjoyed watching a game all year. That is sad, the joy of watching husker football was actually taken this season. On a side note, I did find ucf’s defense to be a little concerning (if we end up with frost)

He’s not my first choice, but we could definitely do worse. Probably falls between 5-15 of realistic choices, so still an upgrade
