  1. Gossip says the Big12 wil take us as a nonfootball member if the BigEast collapses. So in either scenario, we'll be seeing TCU cheerleaders in our basketball stadium.
  2. Question: Is Martinez running the option or were those outside runs to Burkhead designed solely as pitches?
  3. Okay but no spoilers until they come back from Columbus.
  4. Big East is in real trouble now.
  5. "It looks like a Big10 suckhole out there to me." - Knute Rockne
  6. Conspiracy theory; NFL wants to keep Univerisities happy as colleges provide the minor leagues at no cost to the pros. Not mine, you probably heard it a long time ago.
  7. Indeed now that games are replayed ad nauseum upper channels like ESPNU and BTN, you can can pick them out all the time.
  8. Why is it so hard to hire a coach who's not retarded about teaching the basics? We'd be 2-0 if we knew how to catch a wide open pass, snap the ball, and/or play a prevent defense.
  9. I remember being trapped in foot traffic after the game. At least 100 fans that I saw must have left after regulation. 2nd most aggravating moment of the weekend.
  10. Thanks a lot. First was forum locked but I assume it was maizeandbrew.
  11. Hello all. I'm looking for the link to the Big12 parody where there all the schools are high school cheerleaders or something. I know I read it here but can't seem to google it.
  12. BK was only summarizing what I yelled from my couch. Didn't see the twice storm-delayed game? We had 500 total yards and commited 5 turnovers. The first was a fumble inside the SFla 1, scooped and returned 99 yards for a 14 point difference. SFL 23 ND 20
  13. IIRC Bo was not happy during that game. At least both teams can recall that they beat themselves while the opponent only had to sleepwalk through the motions.
  14. Obviously I love all the segments. But more subtely no one ever stops talking about him meaning ESPN loves the extra attention.
  15. I read on another board (so take if FWIW), IF Notre Dame joined the Big 12-2(3), they would be allowed to keep their TV deal. Not sure that would bode well with the Uterus's but... I think I even posted above that if they did join a conference, it might be the B12 because of all the self-interest perks (paraphrased). However, I didn't actually think they ever would. It would probably take the super-conference formation to get the fire under ND. For the moment, they gain nothing by associating themselves with a different conference. Small possibility of joining for all non-football sports. I don't see why we would though.
  16. I did predict that Texas can grab an ex-SWC team any time they wanted; like when they get excluded from the BCSCG for not having played a conference champsionship game. However it appears that TCU would not join them even if invited.
  17. Maybe they should, did you hear this stuff? Two Hurricanes coaches took recruits to Shapiro's home: Source The source, who asked to remain anonymous, says former assistant coaches Clint Hurtt and Joe Pannunzio used Shapiro as a recruiting tool. He says they took prospective players to Shapiro's home on several occasions. However, he says he was not aware of players accepting cash or lavish gifts. . . Hurtt, now a defensive line coordinator at Louisville, wouldn't be commenting, school officials said. Pannunzio, now director of football operations at the University of Alabama, was also unavailable for comment Friday Florida International should takeover Miami's schedule
  18. I agree. If you're not going to use it for extreme cases...say, a school that has been on probation every decade since the 1980s *and* was already on probation for serious violations, then why even have it on the books? And again, any arguments about using the death penalty and how it impacts those around the program are not valid arguments, especially if you propose in your next breath to punish Miami heavily. The ACC already knows they're going to lose TV ratings and bowl revenue--the group Miami associates with is already being impacted in the same manner as if Miami were to receive the death penalty. The problem is that the death penaly won't impact anyone who was reponsible. Shapiro isn't staying in jail longer. It might have some effect on the current UM athletic department but I bet most responsible are getting canned anyway. EDIT: Or that will be the perception anyway. I think the institution was endemically corrupt for a long time. I'm not quite sure if the DP would change that once they came back.
  19. USC was on probation at the time of the two violations that were discovered. It was so consistent with Trojan history that no one else really believes it was confined to Bush and Jarret.
  20. Who's your first? Mom is from rural Pennsylvannia. I can't quite decide whether to laugh or cheer at seeing the same coach her family always cheered for wandering around the sideline. hmm. Might was well rank in order of likeability which means least annoying. 1. Joe Pa animated. 2. Huskers for ending ThugU's reign. 3. The MAC school in W Lafayette for our needed rest after Michigan. 4. Wildcats for having having cool unis in 1996. 5. Wisc for bringin the fat white guy offense back to prominence. 6 LOLSparty. No school has caused me more pain in the last decade but their innovative ways of losing bring enough laughs to cancel it out. 7. Minnseota's invisibility opens up valuable recruiting territory for the Irish to get players like Michael Floyd 8. Iowa for fielding the best 7-6 team you'll ever see. 9. Ill. just for taking up space. 10. IU for taking up space with occassional basketaball. TIED FOR LAST. scUM for cheating on the field, OSUeast for off of it.
  21. Nothing in that article wasn't going on during the 80s. They got a moderate penalty for cheating then and they'll get another one now. It also took 6 years after it became obvious and only after they had stopped winning a ton.
  22. We've got a series with them and will have to endure the excuses about how it doesn't count because they aren't cheating anymore.
  23. I think it is just cover so the Big12 can't sue the SEC. They have to be able to show that A&M wanted to leave and were not poached.
  24. This wording is off. If UT wants to go independent then ND will partner with her. And we're thinking of trying to get an alliance of independents that should have been formed a few decades ago. But no, no one wants to dodge the Big B0llet just to be in a different conference there for someone else's interest.
