  1. While Prince has been one of our best corners ever, and Roy Helu has been a great running back for us for 4 years, no one in the history of Nebraska football can compare to what Alex Henery has done for our special teams play. I dont care what anyone says, Alex has been the best kicker in the country for the past 2 years and one of the top 3-4 punters for the past 2 years as well. My favorite Henery moments are in order 1) The kick 2) His run against Okie State this year and 3) Last years Big 12 title game. He basically was our offense last year, and has been automatic this year and would be perfect if not for a blocked kick that wasn't his fault. The kid is an absolute stud and I will miss him more then any other senior- by far.
  2. Herbstreit and Musberger will be doing the game for ABC. Good drinking game for this one- drink every time they mention Bo and Stoops growing up in Youngstown together- youll be drunk before half time.
  3. Good. Taylor has been by far our best quarterback all year. If he is healthy enough to play, he should start.
  4. No. This is Nebraska. We're one of the top 10 college football programs in the country. We expect to make a bowl game each year, and we expect to be in a good one. With our talent this season, we should expect to win the Big 12 and make a BCS Bowl. Anything short of that this season, and I will not be grateful. We won 9 games in Pelini's 1st year, 10 last year, and have 10 this year. Getting to 11 would be great, but I want 12.
  5. It depends really. We know Oklahoma is going to throw the ball a lot. As long as they don't have too many huge plays in the air, like what happened in the 1st half @OSU, we will be fine defensively, and could shut them down. As long as we don't have a ton of turnovers on offense, we will be fine.
  6. Black 41 Flash Reverse Pass is to this date, my best memory as a Husker fan. Was too young to really remember any of our titles in the mid 90s. That Oklahoma game in 2001 was the first big Husker game I really remember watching. Along with that, the game last year was great too. Neither team played that great but it felt really good to beat Oklahoma for the first time in a while.
  7. 5 players on the All Big 12 Defensive 1st team. Wow. I know all of them deserve it, and Dennard might deserve to be on it as well, but its such a good feeling knowing every time you step out on the field, your defense is going to keep you in the game no matter what. 3 of the 5 are seniors, and we might lose Crick, but I still think we'll be loaded on defense again next year.
  8. OK, with A&M headed to the Cotton Bowl, we better win on Saturday. A trip back to the Holiday Bowl or the Insight Bowl would be a horrible way to end the year.
  9. Oregon, Auburn, Virginia Tech, South Florida beats UConn- WVU wins Big East and of course, Nebraska.
  10. Even with everything that happened last weekend at A&M, we were still 30 yards away or so from tying the game. This week, were playing at home against a Colorado team that, while they are playing better, are no Texas A&M. I expect the offense to come alive and please, Watson, try a couple trick plays. Zone read after zone read is fine when it is working, but when it is not, try something to keep the defense honest. The defense will be their usual selves and hopefully will get a TD or two.
  11. loss to the refs? really?? you guys really are into the crop circles aren't you?? it had nothing to do with the team you played?? The way you won the game had everything to do with the refs. Without that horrible late hit call, the game is going to OT, or Nebraska is winning it. Could you have won the game in OT? Sure, but we should have had a chance to play the game and not have the outcome be determined by the refs.
  12. This loss is not that hard to take- we still can win the Big 12 championship and win a BCS game. However, the way the game was officiated and especially that last play pisses me off, a lot. Is there a conspiracy theory? I really hope not, but there was something seriously wrong with the way this game was officiated. If you're going to call a tight game, fine, but do it both ways. Holding takes place on the offensive line every game, and its one of the hardest calls a ref has to make. So, if a ref decides to call holding every time he sees anything close to it, fine, but call it both ways. Theres no way a college football game should have a penalty difference of over 130 yards. Even if Pelini was pissing the refs off, thats no excuse for them to call the game poorly. You're supposed to be professionals, you're going to get criticism by the coaches- deal with it. I have no problem with them flagging Pelini for the unsportsman like conduct. If Pelini is yelling at you too much, flag him. Do not flag our players based on how you feel about our coach. Anyway, lets go beat the living crap out of CU and then whoever we face in the CCG. Take the CCG trophy, smash it, and walk off the field.
  13. Seriously, who cares about this game at this point. Win next week, get Taylor healthy for the CCG, and then peace out to the Big 10.
  14. WOW. OK, SOMEONE NEEDS TO PUNCH A REF IN THE FACE. IF WERE GOING TO GET F*CKED LIKE THIS, AT LEAST GO DOWN SWINGING.
  15. Time for a turnover here, lets go blackshirts.
  16. If we win the Big 12 this year. I hope Pelini holds up the trophy, drops it in front of everyone, says F*ck you to Beebe and then everyone just walks off the field.
  17. We need a Longest Yard play here. First play on offense, have Taylor drop back and drill the ref right in the face, lets see them call a penalty on that,
  18. These Refs are horrible. Watch the f%&k*ing play, the receiver made more contact that Dennard.
  19. Wow. I dont know, as long as we're winning Id keep him out.
  20. I think we can beat A&M without Taylor, and beat Colorado without him as well. If there is any chance that he can still play tonight, do not bring him in the game unless we absolutely need it. The CCG is in 2 weeks, and we will need a healthy Taylor if we are lucky enough to get their.
  21. We might have the most out of any school in the Army All-American game. Im not positive on that, but 6 players at this point is a lot. Ive checked, and we have more then Florida and Ohio State. Not sure who else could have more. Actually, now that I think of it, Texas probably has more.
  22. BCS Game Win> Any non-BCS win. We win out, win a BCS game, we'll finish top 3-4 in the country and start next season in the top 5. We lose the Big 12 Championship game, win a bowl game against an Arkansas or Alabama, we'll finish in the top 10.
  23. We shut down Jake Locker and Blaine Gabbert, Tannehill will be no different. Yes, it will be a very hostile environment, but running the football and playing good defense are what we do, and Saturday night will be no different. We will win comfortably.
  24. Really though, this doesn't matter. We're not going to the National Championship game unless some crazy stuff happens. If we win out, go to a BCS game and win it, we'll be in the top 3 at the end of the season.
