  1. I love his highlight tapes. He has a good throwing motion, especially on the quick throws. He knows how to make a drop from under center. I think he has the tools to play early.
  2. Oh no, the OWH press is angry. Those guys are so important.
  3. Everyone wants to bash on the secondary, and with reason. There are problems there. The D gets into trouble because they get into 2nd and 5 way to often and that is on the front 7. I would like to see more of Josh Williams, Chase Rome, and Alonzo Whaley these guys were making plays in the 2nd half. Thad Randle hasn't impressed me, and I haven't seen much of him lately. I haven't seen Jay Guy at all, and he looks like a run-stuffer from the sideline. I think we will get better in this area.
  4. I think we have the talent to run Bo's 2 gap scheme, but we need to get bigger. I noticed more of Chase Rome and Alonzo Whaley in the second half last night. Steinkhuler should be a DE in my opinion, he is too light at DT. We need that run stuffer, and I think there are candidates on the roster.
  5. In the first half we played a strange 5 man front with Meridith, Steinkhuler, Moore, Crick, and Martin. This may have looked like Crick was at DE, but I wouldn't say he was as someone else was always outside of him. I don't think I saw that front at all in second half, but I think Crick was lined up a DE about 4 or 5 times in second half.
  6. Want to know what it would be like, go check BuckNuts or whatever that board is. Match in the gas tank, boom boom
  7. I heard a comment from ESPNU regarding transitioning to a new conference. It seems as NU has had some struggles and related that to Utah being picked high in the PAC12 and also struggling. It amounted to playing in a new conference is not so easy. In the Big12 NU had an identity. NU had a defense that would play soft, frustrating offenses used to scoring quickly. NU had a offense that was terrible, and would attempt to limit mistakes. As NU transitions to the B1G the defenses is facing poor offenses that are quite willing to pick up 5 yards patiently. I noticed a defense last night that seemed to be better at the point of attack with a larger Chase Rome at DT and Alonzo Whaley at LB. It also seems NU has an offense that is in the top half of the conference. This is sort of vague, but I guess my point is NU in the B1G is changing it's identity. I find it exciting to see this develop.
  8. Dirk is a good writer. This is less about Martinez and more about Pelini's job. To lose at home versus OSU with a struggling Martinez would lead to difficult decisions during a difficult stretch of the schedule. Add to that a defensive genius with a struggling defense. This game Saturday is huge.
  9. I had heard BYU was the obivious choice.
  10. You say stark raving lunatic, I say intense. An Iowa fan thinks Bo is over the top, I could care less what any non-NU fan thinks of Bo Pelini.
  11. Top 5 consistently, no. Top 10 consistently and on top of B1G with 2 others, yes. If Tom Osborne can't select the right coach to get us there we just have an AD who is rolling the dice.
  12. Watching Martinez's throwing motion gives me gas.
  13. Colorado and Nebraska are gone. I thought this idea could have gotten A&M to reconsider, but I think that is also gone. I don't quite understand why everyone else in the Big12 lets 3rd tier rights go to individual schools. Tear up the charter and write a new one that shares 3rd tier rights. If Texas wants to go, let them enjoy the ACC. Also, I believe the main opposition to adding TCU comes from Texas.
  14. The Huskers come into Camp Randall wearing green and yellow. Wisconsin fans thinks they are the Packers, and cheer against Wisconsin.
  15. Beebe is gone, a new charter is written that equalizes revenue sharing and everyone's happy. Missouri just left.
  16. I saw PJ Smith come in for a series or 2 in the Washington game. I thought Smith was backing up Cassidy, but apparently Osborne has fallen to 3rd string FS. I am not sure if Osborne has the cover skills, but I love the thought of him blitzing from the nickel.
  17. I am going to write Bo a letter letting him know I forgive coach Sanders for his wrong doings. This act would clear to way for the re-hiring of Sanders immediately.
  18. What is interesting is that one could argue that TCU, SMU, and Houston are all ahead of Baylor today without all of the Big12 money Baylor has collected. No other Big12 school is more deserving of demotion to a non BCS league.
  19. I feel if ND were to join a conference it would be the Big East. They would have a better negotiating position to get a honey deal money wise and keeping their coast to coast scheduling. It is interesting that NBC has a new owner that is investing a lot into NBC Sports. The money these TV deals continues to get bigger and bigger for every deal.
  20. I love the walk-on program at NU. 3 walk-ons starting on the OL really makes me feel like our OL recruits continue to miss for some reason. Makes me nervous.
  21. These stories are like crack. It is not a good thing, and I just wish I could stop. Still I keep checking each of these threads. I am still not sure super conferences are coming. I am sure every writer is putting every story out there hoping it sticks and they are breaking the story. They don't care if they are right or wrong, actually at this point no one can be wrong. Everything is happening behind closed doors and every story is from an unnamed source. It is crack and I wish I could just pay attention to the games.
  22. I do like Stafford a lot, he's a hell of a player. I also like Osborne a lot, and would like to see both of them on the field together.
  23. I feel the coaching staff on both sides of the ball made good adjustments at the half and the offense played clean mostly, few penalties and fumbles. I am concerned about the run D, and feel Blatchford is a mess at nickel. I would like to see some misdirection run plays, counters and a reverse out of the run game. Not a great game, but not terrible. Just gotta keep getting better.
