  1. Pretty sure none of the Whorn commits are going to jump ship. In fact I'd really be shocked if any of them did. Honestly they probably will be back to "normal" next year. They still suck ass though.
  2. Saw a homeless guy sporting a Longhorn hat today, must have benn a recent grad.

  3. Congrats on the huge honor. Sean Callahan let this out of the bag last week on Big Red Wrap-Up. Tyler and Nik Sade holding down the East.
  4. I'd rather he was the next Gomes. I just don't see us going through the Big10 in that peso D like we play so much out of this year. We need more 240lb Eric Martins, not that "adjuster". But there's plenty of threads discussing that This is one of my favorites because I think he's a "character" guy. He'd make a good addition to the unity council. Agreed, he is a great character guy. He dropped big time in the rivals ratings and I can only assume that it was because of his injury, right? Yeah it was because of the knee, I believe he missed 3 or 4 games. Still is a hell of a player with a great head on his shoulders. I was really hoping the injury actually would scare off some of the other schools.
  5. Just going off what's been listed in the Omaha paper since Sunday. And it is still 35 on your link.
  6. I still say take another DT especially a quality one. Good DT's are hard to come by as they are a rarer breed in the HS ranks and teams battle tooth and nail over the few guys that are out there. I wouldn't be overly concerned if we only got one DE. NU will have good returning talent coming back and they took what, like 5 DE's last year. Also the DE board this recruiting cycle just doesn't seem overly talented or deep. And to go further, next years DE prospects look like they could be one of the best in years. Ohio alone will have a monsterous DE market, at least six or seven BCS worthy players alone. Damn if we only had some kind of connection to that state............
  7. That's it!!!! I am calling shenanigans And Mr. Beebe
  8. Still think this was a huge miss. Today the news is that Heard didn't make grades again. I look at missing on Standard as similiar to missing out on Griffin the Baylor QB. We had so much focus on Gabbert and a 5-star QB recruit we didn't focus on Griffin much. As it turned out, we didn't even get Gabbert and Griffin has been a stud on an average Baylor team that has now added some other parts. Talk about being stacked at QB if we had him ... wow. On our end, we have been so focused on Aaron Green it seems to me we missed on a great player who wanted to be N. I'll look with interest who we look to add to add depth at RB in this class, if any. Who knows, maybe with Malcom Brown dropping in ranking he will decide to leave TX and come be with his buddy Aaron. :-) SheepdogMark IIRC we were never really in the Robert Griffin picture. The main reason he chose Baylor was because of their track program. He was one of the top 400m guys in the nation as a senior and has a couple of Big XII titles under his belt as well. If I also remember that was Callahan. He would definitely have wanted a pro type QB before RG3. However, if it was Bo, I bet we would have put a full court press on. I mean, his future is in football. If he wanted to be the best football player he could be, he def would have chosen NU over baylor. I would say it had more to do with Callahan, and probably Watson too, more than anything. Bo would have finished up that recruiting class when he took over in January. Yes Clownahan would never have given RGIII a whiff at QB, and Gabbert was solidly committed for a while so all QB talks were severed at that point. Bo had to scramble like hell to open up the communication lines with QB's and we ended up with Spano. Still don't know if he would have picked NU though, because at that time his future was definitely more promissing on the track. For that reason he made the right choice at the time. And if RGIII still was running track and didn't hurt his knee, he'd probably be beating down the Team USA door.
  9. Boy Vegas made this one so easy a caveman could hit it. Kansas+35 Money in the bank. Income in college was never easier than to take the Huskers opponent and the points back in the day. Those spreads were rediculous. I hate betting against the Huskers but sometimes Vegas just makes it too easy to.
  10. Not as good as album as Fall of Ideals, not a lot could top that, but beats the crap out of Overcome. And Tom Morello is a guitar GOD
  11. I disagree with that, Alabama runs the ball ALOT and they can pull Julio Jones and Marquis Maze type recievers. Then Oregon can pull kids like tacoi Sumler. It all depends on the relationship the coach has with said kid. Bingo, hit it on the head aspeedlin. Ohio State is another one you could throw in this list.
  12. read some of big bro's posts - you'll understand. This is so true. Haven't heard from big bro since the truth of the matter was presented to him in SJB's thread. But again
  13. If it is true, and he still wants to get here in January, he has one more chance in December.
  14. cause his stats alone say "What's Up?"

  16. No definite insight here, but I'm sorry if Zac truely had a "hand injury" wouldn't you have thought that it would have been wrapped on Saturday? It wasn't. In fact the only kind of wrap he was sporting was an elbow sleeve, which would support the elbow idea. Was at the game, saw him somewhat stretch, hand off balls, DIDN'T see him throw in warmups, and I never saw him even ATTEMPT to raise or really move his right arm during the game. Thought it was odd but never really thought much of it, until the USC guys were talking about it and pretty much saying the exact same thing. Who knows? Just what I saw and my .02
  17. Most every school will tell any recruit they are dying to sign this. In reality most discover very quickly that this isn't high school anymore and come to the realization themselves that sitting out a year is probably in their best interest. That being said is great hearing recruit after recruit say Bo tells them how it is. They'll have a chance if they earn it, and it won't be given to them.
  18. Hmm......sounds like you also could be talking about Jamal Turner. Except I am taking Jamal in a footrace against Brion every day of the week. Now the biggest difference at this point is Brion is in the colors and Jamal isn't(which I have no doubt he will be a Husker by midterm). The QB position is being stockpiled with wealth and I don't know if a lot of us have realized how crazy lucky NU possibly will be having these four kids at the QB position in the near future.
  19. Love the fact that Nu is sounding like it will get Peat in during a game. Nothing can compare. And I am sure with it being Senior Day, the last time we play the Puffs, and the last Big Xii conference home game ever, the place will be a little more hopping and the party will be large. I would love to get Todd, and would take him over M Johnson. Also it wouldn't hurt one bit getting a foot in the door with "little" bro Andrus who supposedly will be a beast and one of the best OL prospects out there next year.
  20. We were in the NW hill and had a great time. There were the few "bad seeds" from both teams mixed in there. The best was the guy that kept throwing the Hook em Horn sign at all the Nebraska fans. That is until my wife says KSU says what's up and reminded him he needed to hold up three more fingers to match the titles. Shut him up the rest of the game and made me glow with a little pride.
  21. I agree 100%. Can't wait for next season. Sure refs have some bad judgment calls sometime, but multiple times every game? It gets out of hand. We were in the NW corner, and the best example of something stinky going on yesterday with officiating happened during Niles fumble. After awarding ISU the ball their guy #7 took off his helmet while celebrating. This is an automatic 15 yarder for removing a helmet while on the field. It got better when the Line Judge came running in from the ISU side yelling and pointing at him. The ref then grabbed #7 and pointed at his helmet and then pointed at his head. Nothing done after that as the Clown ran off the field to his team with the other Clown trailing him. This just made me laugh my ass off. Not only from this no call situation but the delerium of Niles' piss poor decision. The holding is still rediculous(both ways, we got away with a bunch as well), spots were iffy, the reviews were like two monkeys doing you know what to a football, and the icer was Rex getting his neck readjusted in front of the back judge and the Umpire. None of these are excuses for play in my mind but just further highlighting actions for those beefing up the conspiracy theories. NU just has to play its own game and not leave games into these clowns hands.
  22. For the record that's exactly what his teammates call him! Maybe he'll pickup a different handle while playing for the blackshirts!! I knew an Action Jackson once. It was in college, and it wasn't a dude. Use the imagination on why the name stuck.
  23. I'm not judging too much - it's just people think Martinez was this running QB and didn't pass...when in HS he was FAR more of a passer than any QB we've recruited lately. I don't usually see quick out's generating 16+ yards a catch...maybe closer to 10 (which is what Jamal's yards per completion is). I just can't find much to prove that he is so much more of a "polished passer" is all. Stats don't back it up, the tape doesn't really support it. We only see highlights so each QB looks good. Bubba definately has a stronger arm, his motion might just be affected by baseball and a lack of coaching but there isn't this massive gap between the passing ability of Turner vs. Bubba/Martinez. Don't see it, don't see Jamal playing QB here either though. Cody Green says what's up. He threw for over 3200 yards including over a 1000 in the playoffs alone(AJ Dugat would halp anyones stats of course). The main reason(besides his motion) a lot of schools didn't want Taylor as a QB is that they knew nothing about his arm because his passes at Corona were primarily all hitches, stops, ins, and outs, as noted by SkerChicago. It has also been noted by Crabtree and other recruiting "geniouses" that Turner is a more polished thrower than Taylor at this point. Another thing to bear in mind is that Taylor was surrounded by way better receiving talent than Jamal has. One of his receivers was Ricky Marvray who is now at UCLA. And I still stand by the fact that if I had to go one on one in the open field against either of these two it would be Taylor. And this is coming from a huy who is a Taylor fan.
