  1. If you're real ambitious, you could try to break this unofficial record.
  2. I'm in your camp. I actually see them beating Wisconsin in this over hyped game. That Braxton kid then comes to town, completes two passes and Buckeyes win the let down game. This one game season mentally concerns me.
  3. Are we really going to make any progress in these discussions if we keep throwing out strawmen arguments? He's not a great passer by any means, but is just saying he can't throw period anywhere close to accurate? No, no it's not. It's not...I agree. He is however, below average in my opinion.
  4. If you think Crouch would be as good with this offensive line, you're on harder drugs than the people who would take Martinez over Crouch. That's why it's impossible to say. It's definitely not "crazy," but maybe a little weird, to prefer Martinez. It's not weird at all to think he has the potential to be better. The simple fact of the matter is neither one of them should be considered a QB anymore. Crouch is probably the most gifted athletic talent that has ever played QB at Nebraska. The unfortunate part, much like Taylor, is that their skill sets don't match that of a successful QB anymore. Crouch would have been successful at any DB or offensive skill position. Taylor.....maybe. The problem I have with that argument is that it's the same thing people said when Crouch was QB. And when Frost was QB. And when Frazier was QB. It's been proven wrong over and over again, which you'd think would make it invalid, yet people keep arguing it. Your logic is flawed. You are assuming that the game doesn't change or evolve. Given your example, I really don't see why anyone isn't arguing that we start to look for a Jerry Tagge clone. Where has it been proven wrong? Since Crouch won the Heisman, where has a purely running QB been successful. I would actually rather take step back because Miami absolutely destroyed the Huskers. Since Frost won the NC in 1997, where has a pure running (Run First - Sub par passing) QB been successful? There may be an example, I just don't recall it. That's almost 15 years ago. So again, where has it been proven wrong? So in your mind, a player has to win a national championship in order to be successful? So, I guess Sam Bradford wasn't successful. Neither was Colt McCoy. Kellen Moore blows. Andrew Luck hasn't been successful either. Kirk Cousins is no good. Derek Carr, Keith Price, and Brett Smith must REALLY suck, because they're not getting anywhere close to a national championship this year. Bad play on my part because I knew you would take it there. Let me change it up for you. Give me a QB that can run well and can't throw that has been successful in the last 5 years. I would say successful would be top 10, maybe top 15. Since this appears to be an acceptable recipe for success, you shouldnt have any trouble naming several. I don't even know why I argue with you. Last year you called me out after three games when I said "Who cares when Will Compton comes back, LaVonte David should never leave the field".

  7. I only somewhat agree with this. That offense controlled game after game after game. The were consistent and predictable. The time of possession against nearly every opponent that year was unbelievably one sided. The offense basically held the ball the entire game and the defense was barely out there. Three and outs were extremely rare. We do not have an offense with that kind of control.
  8. I agree with both of these. The thing that is now different is there are legitimate playmakers on offense (a lot of them). This team needs a player that can 'Consistently' distribute the ball to those weapons. You don't have to be a defensive genius to say 'I'm going to make this kid throw to beat us'. It works against pedestrian teams.
  9. How old are you? It's like you never watched - or understood what you were watching Good response. How old are you...classic. Comparing him to previous players in an entirely option offense makes no sense to me. This offense need 'Ganz' or 'Zac Taylor', not Mickey Joseph. He's not good.
  10. Here's a little, and I emphasize the little, bit of video of him against Kearney this year. He has a little bit of a side arm release, but it is quick. I really like how well he moves in the pocket. I want us to pick up a quarterback that can make the throws and runs only when he has to (Ganz or Zac Taylor). Ganz would be putting up monster numbers with the offensive weapons on this team. I think this kid fits that mold.

  12. I hope this kid get a look. This is the kind of player I would like to see taking snaps at Nebraska.
  13. Beebe is definitely a tool, but I see this as a temporary band aid that doesn't address the real problem. Hook em Whorns
  14. Polls are meaningless early in the season. That being said, some are going to be overrated while others are below the radar. Everything will play itself out. I know everyone wants to talk Notre Dame, but the one that baffles me every year is Georgia. They are always ranked fairly high starting the season
  15. you've convinced me a little that wiscy may have not have proved much because of their opponents, but they still look amazing. they appear to be in mid-season form. I'm really not trying to prove anything other than Bo has proved his teams can win or lose to anyone of any level on any given day. So many have turned this into a one game season.
  16. My opinion...... Attending 'The' event is the most overrated thing out there. You pay to stand in line, sit next to a fatty, hold it when you really need to go, wait for commercials and pay $17.50 to eat/drink. I've been to Husker, Bowl Games, NFL, MLB and Nascar events and it's all the same. I think more people attend events to tell people 'I was there' then will actually admit it. My point.....People get bored! My favorite example is the Spring Game. Down right painful. My oldest has been to 15+ games and I haven't had to take him to one. There is always a grandpa that wants to do it. I get to sit under the bridge or in the basement where I would rather be. I'm sure I'll get bashed because that is some right of passage.....bad parenting.
  17. Everyone was asking what was wrong with Prince last year when Weeden-Blackmon had a century to throw.
  18. I get so tired of comparing scores. It isn't the same thing. We could sit back and let the X-Box play game if you guys want. IT DOESN'T MEAN ANYTHING.
  19. Three guys went to the NFL. Hagg, Gomes and Prince. When is the last time Nebraska had three DB's go to the NFL in one year? Pass rush is suspect in my opinion. Our corners look a slow in their back peddle and turns, but I don't think they are doing that bad. Our corners need a pass rush and some safety help on the long ball. I'm not putting it all on Raymond.
  20. That's what I thought too... still waiting for some video or a .gif I'm with you two. I think the ball hit Washington player before Marlowe which would make this entire conversation irrelevant. What I don't understand is how if you really want to break it down, Rex getting destroyed on that punt wasn't a penalty. How in the hell could that be legal?
