  1. Huskies selling out on run. Wats in gonna keep pushing first down zone read for a loss, second down pass and third and long while praying.
  2. Any stat geeks in here? Husker run on every first down?
  3. Against the rules....yep. Worthy of a flag...yep. Should be called with just over a minute left and decide the game...absolute garbage. I can't stand K-State, but sometimes you look the other way. A one second salute had zero effect on the game.
  4. If it means him falling off the radar like McNeil, please leave him at tight end.
  5. An 8 team playoff would add 2 games to the season of the teams that played for the national championship if the bowl system was preserved. It would also mean another 2 games for the losers in the semis. That means that 4 other team would only have to play one more game in an eight team playoff system. I believe 16 or 12 is too many, but 4 is not enough. Here is a theoretical using the current BCS standings. It assumes that the higher rank team wins out. It also allow for the AQ schools to be represented in the BCS bowls. Keep in mind that it may not always work that way for the AQ schools. The BCS bowl game would be determined by the two teams that win out. The other BCS games could be picked just like they are now. I just filled them in. We can have a playoff and preserve the bowls!
  6. Was the coin toss ever discussed on this board? I had forgotten about it until I read this. My 8 year asked me why they kicked off twice. I thought that was classic. The Watson-Martinez thing is tiring. The thing that I have an even bigger issue with is that people think an offense relying solely on a big play is effective. You have to be able to grind out a drive once in a while. You have to be able to control field and time of possession. When your team needs 3-7 in 4 quarters to win a game, you have to able to produce. Is Martinez to blame for that....nope. Watson...maybe. Pelini...maybe. Obviously, someone is. It's cool to watch Martinez, Helu and Burkhead rip off huge runs over and over again untouched when it didn't matter. I would have rather had more modest production when it counted. I think Martinez is talented, but he has been exposed. I don't care about his perceived 'personality' issues. The simple fact of the matter is, he's got a lot of work to do.
  7. I couldn't care less how much he weighs. He covers more field than anyone I have ever seen. He also is able to blanket cover TE's and hangs with the slots. Urlacher played strong safety in college. There were a ton of questions about his size and ability to play LB when he came out. He's now a beast. David is going to be playing football for a while.
  8. They should have said there Dads did it. Worked for Newton.
  9. I can't watch the guy. To me he has always seemed like the guy that had a 'Dad or Uncle' hook him with a job at ESPN. He's like Erin Andrews, just not hot.
  10. Gomes has flown below everyone's radar. This guy is going to be severely missed next year.
  11. I always knew one person in America watched this. Until now, that person was a mystery.
  12. You don't have to prepare if you already interviewed.
  13. I hope like hell you are right. This is the only way he will be successful.
  14. That's not really my point. My question is does he have to go through the same crap every week if his offense works?
  15. I can only speak for myself, but I have never read anything that you have written on Huskerboard. It might be brilliant for all I know. I can't get past your Avatar picture. Too much of a distraction. I literally go to the next thread....after lurking a few moments. Maybe if you change it, I can learn more about your opinions.
  16. I can't help but think that all the major distractions this season where at least somewhat a result of offensive performance. Does some offensive output mask and/or minimize some of the things that have come up this season? 1. Big 12 Bias We allowed them to become a factor in several of our games. We couldn't score against aTm. Poor performance against Texas allowed us to take it to the last week to decide the North. 2. Bo's implosion at aTm. We've been through this over and over. Yes, the officials did a horrible job in this game, but we need to be honest with ourselves. The final score was 9-6. We scored 6! 3. Taylor Martinez Rumors. I don't really know what I think of Martinez yet. Looking back on the season, I think we still have the same lousy offense as 2009, but we thought Martinez was the Messiah. We (myself included) bought into the fact that we couldn't win without Taylor. The simple fact of the matter is that our clutch QB has been our second string running back. I think a healthy(wishful thinking) Zac Lee would have had a better record. 4. Miami Coaching Rumors. Bo just wants to coach. Unfortunately, there is more to it than that. I think he's worn out and ready for the year to be over. Watching the press conferences, you can't help but feel for the guy. Some of the questions he has to answer are absolutely pathetic. Not only that, it's over and over and over again. Score a few touchdowns when in counted during the season and he's talking BCS and not Casey Martinez. 5. Performance against bad Teams (SDSU, Texas, ISU & Kansas). All these games do is blow up the message boards and lead everyone to question every aspect of the team.
  17. This was all posted on the bulletin board and my grandma's nursing home. It was quite the talk at the soup supper yesterday.
  18. I know this is fun and what forum boards are all about, but how could anyone possibly have any confidence in what product is going to show up on the field week to week. Losses to a horrid Texas, average A&M, beatable OU and one point win over ISU. No Gomes, Price, Hagg or Henery? I think we will see a lot of the same next year.
  19. This situation should be Deja Vu for everyone. Not only us, but those in the program. Pelini was brought to Solich's staff replace a horribly ineffective coordinator and turned things around. This coordinator, whom I agree was probably kept with influence from T.O. and company. It's time to let Pelini run his program and go find someone that can build an offense. One that score a touchdown against a reasonable defense.
  20. No expectations of the guy going into the season. Had he had any hype going into the season, he would have been an all american.
