we ran poorly in 4 of our losses, in a 5th we had to pass to catch up. Football is more complex than just run/pass ratio and those numbers are more than likely an artifact of the context of the game.
Our run game in the losses to Illinois and Wisconsin were okay, but predictable. A little more flare to keep them confused could have been game changers.
Against NW and Purdue, the effort and the type of plays we called on the ground was miserable. We depended too much on big gains through the air.
