  1. FOIA was filed at Michigan St today, and the same lawyer is drafting the same for all of the other public institutions.
  2. I mean, they've been to a national championship game these kids were alive for, so.
  3. You left out Tyreek Hill speed. Definitely faster than Tyreek Hill
  4. Stupid. Even Fidone - does Fidone start day 1 over Stoll and Volkolek still here? No, it'd help if at least one had graduated out.
  5. Clarifying b/c the PAC12 DOES include this in their update yesterday - B1G says basketball is still good to start in November?

Wouldn't that be a Winter sport? I think it's just Fall sports being cancelled for now. So I would think basketball is technically still on, but really just because they can wait on that decision.

Cool, thanks. The PAC12 cancelled non-con basketball through the 1st of January, so I was worried

  6. You can have your opinions about Perlman being the source of our athletic woes (and you'd be right, he is). But as a lawyer, Perlman was a genius in navigating the Big 12 contract. Still teaches at the law college too. Cuts both ways, I guess
  7. But the roster limits aren't the point. Say you're a HS DB right now. Nebraska should look pretty attractive with 3 senior starters set to graduate from the DB room. But now they'll all be here next year. One more year you're almost guaranteed to redshirt. Why come here?
  8. We have amazing lawyers working at UNL (specifically, teaching law at the law college). Hearing the story of the contract loophole we found to exit the Big 12 without penalty (mostly) is pretty cool. They'll find an out to the B1G contract if we're serious and there are other options outside.
  9. My first, gut reaction was - Why TF do high school kids care if we don't play this year? Then, it all clicked - the NCAA has said absolutely squat about what happens to eligibility for kids who don't play this year. If they save eligibility, high schools kids are running into a 105-man scholarship log jam at any B1G school.... screw you, B1G.
  10. I just think there's a difference between cancelling a season before it starts and cancelling halfway through. I voted we "cancel" sometime in October/November
  11. I don't think playing games and then stopping mid-season constitutes a cancellation, IMO
  12. Frost is really turning the program around, especially off the field. We've evolved from aquarium guy to portable toilet guy. I like it.
  13. Damn, I didn't know coaches ever got that specific... but I guess it is is good to be as absolutely honest as possible? "Look kid, if all 4 of these other guys don't want in, I guess we can offer you a scholarship"
  14. From someone who is still in graduate school... you sound like a bunch of old dudes arguing about technology without an understanding of the technology. But maybe that is just message boards in summary. There are plenty of proctoring programs and resources that make proctoring on the student's schedule very easy (read: someone in the Phillipines watches you take your test). Online classes are very easy to set up and schedule - you do realize 100% online degree programs exist, even at schools like UNL? Professors typically hold a weekly lecture at a time that is convenient for them. It is recorded and posted later. If you feel the need to be present and ask questions live in-person, you move your schedule to accommodate or you can post in the all class discussion board to ask later. I've been in online group assignments with a UNL football player and a baseball player during their respective seasons. They did great. Online school is very common and very simple, especially at the college level.
  15. A gamble that seemed to work a UCF - loads of those guys playing in the NFL and it wasn’t like they were recruiting with the Bamas and Clemsons of the world. At least at Nebraska (and the roster flipping that had to be done), I’d say the pass applies to year 1&2. Need to see development of players this year, and I think we will.
  16. Maybe he doesn’t know - Snowbird, we made a thread for profile updates if you’re really passionate about keeping track of where people are going. It should be pinned on the main Recruiting page. Maybe better to consolidate updates there
  17. Article doesn't really explain a lot of detail... had offers that didn't sound very committable. He had some academic issues, which should just now be getting resolved in the next week so he can be here by end of month (meaning, they definitely weren't great). Regardless, impressive highlights and I'm glad we got him!
  18. Hasn't been cross-posted - we got another 3* kid with SEC offers to walk-on yesterday. I'll take that over random kids from C2 in Nebraska (sorry in advance for triggering the board)
  19. No, undo this. Don't speak ill into the world.
  20. I think it is highly likely we see a class that isn't allowed to take a single official visit. Damn.
  21. They played football in 1918. That is all.

Is heat stroke the same thing as a novel virus that can infect you by breathing the same sweaty air as the person in you face?

Both are “deaths that didn’t have to happen” if football wasn’t played, no?

You're trying to equate an inherent risk with a new risk that is entirely preventable. They are not the same thing.

Look, I wish football would come back, I really do, but we as a country may have screwed that up. All people had to do was follow the rules; wear a mask, distance, and practice good hygiene. That's not happening.
