  1. I learned that if we keep shooting ourselves in the foot with turnovers, penalties , bad special teams play etc we’re going to have a hard time winning any games this year . We have some talent and much better team attitude /mentality if we can clean up the errors we’ll be fine .
  2. I think Bunch will do a serviceable job but he’s a big step down from Martinez . We have enough playmakers on the field to beat Troy etc, but we’re going to need a healthy AM to compete with the big boys .
  3. In every football game there are pivotal moments that decide the game . Whether it be converting a fourth down, converting on 3 and long, a defensive stand ,or a clutch TD catch/run when you need it etc. In this game most of those plays went The Buffs way, and they won the game. This Husker team is much stronger , faster, more aggressive, talented, better coached, and mentally tough than they were last year, and that will eventually lead to wins on the field. They stumbled early but kept playing hard the entire game, and even though they lost to a team they should have beaten, i was proud of this teams resiliency, and toughness. No comparison to last year IMO
  4. If Martinez is out for any length of time the season is pretty much over . Stupid mistakes turnovers and dropped passes allowed the the lesser team to win . Over all the team still looks much better than last year . I hope they can clean up the stupid stuff and win some games .
  5. 51 years young, and my son has hooked me up with student tickets for a few recent games. I've sat in seats almost everywhere in the stadium, and the student section is my favorite. Always lots of people, and lots of fun.
  6. Not True. Guys who are used to carrying the ball in game situations are going to learn better ball protection, blocking, making positive yards on broken plays etc.the intangibles you just cant teach. We've had some great backs here but they were almost always better in their junior and senior years due to experience. Bell already has 2 years experience and productivity at a high level that's a big part of why hes #1 to start the season.
  7. In JUCO Bell has done some very impressive things. "Bell. As mentioned, he's a two-time JUCO All-American that rushed for 1,187 yards and seven touchdowns in his freshman season and followed that up by rushing for 1,217 yards and 11 scores this past season. He also helped Arizona Western reach the JUCO National Championship game this past season". I don't think the competition at this level will be that big of an adjustment for him, the guy can play.
  8. Poor, and lower income people are at a huge disadvantage when the pitfalls of life occur. When Medical/dental bills, Vehicle repairs , Appliance failure, etc happen they are stuck with high interest loans/credit cards, paycheck advances, rent to own, and all manner of predatory lenders as their only options. Those "bad choices" are often merely a result of picking the least bad option available, making it very easy to fall into a cycle of revolving debt that you have little chance of escaping. Its easy to say "just do without" but with many of the things i listed that's not an option, and some, if ignored, will cost much more down the road, making your situation even worse. I've lived on both sides of the scenario and its much easier to make good decisions, now that i have a good credit score, good income, and even a small amount in savings. For years i had none of that and my options were much worse.
  9. I didnt agree with McCains politics most times, be you have to admire the person he was . He was a much better man than Trump IMO . Is it true Obama is going to do the eulogy at the funeral , and Trump isn’t invited ?
  10. So is psychobabble BS and preconceived ideas of how everyone else should live their lives .
  11. I thought I was reading somewhere (Vox?), that Rosenstein is pretty pivotal in the whole thing too. When Mueller is done with his investigation, he turns the results over to Rosenstein who gets to chose what to release, prosecute etc. We may never know the truth if he decides to bury it ?
  12. So whats the chances Sessions gets fired? What happens then?
  13. Finished watching the rest recently. I watched the Jason seasons first for some reason. I think Buddy was the better coach of the two, i think his downfall was not being able to explain what he was doing and why very well , and inability to set rules and stick to them. I didn't think he needed to rethink the "big fight" and back off. Explain to them It doesn't matter why you were out there fighting, you just cant do it. All our hard work was needlessly flushed away in an instant and that really sucks for all of us. Isaiah, and Kam , could have been handle much better too. I thought Jason, and his teams were more entertaining . Deandre was the best player on any of the teams i thought , I couldn't believe he didn't get better offers. Miss Brittany was a drama queen, and kinda annoying, but she looked mighty nice in them jeans . lol
  14. Everyone knows how the system/economics works, no need to keep explaining. Everything in life revolves around work, and money, and the only worth a person has is is their productivity, marketability, blah blah blah. If heard it a million times and its still crap to me. I don't know how old some of you are, but you will eventually realize that the important things in life really happen after work, not during, and the measure of a person has nothing to do with how much money they have. Hundreds of millions of people in this country are not going to become business owners, corporate big shots, investors, trust fund babies, or any of the other cookie cutter things society deems "worthy" of riches. We know were going to have to work for someone else, who's going to take the lions share of everything, and give us the least they can. That sucks but we put up with it because there's little, or no, choice in most cases. The problem comes when the top skims too much, and dribbles down too little, and i think were going that direction , if not already there, in this country. I think most people would be happy in a system where the rich can get "theirs" as long as we get "ours" too. It was that way for a long time in this country, but not so much any more.
  15. @BRB Nope i think he will do his job well and make himself very irreplaceable. I think Frost loves this place enough he'd probably work for less than 7 million a year, but he would be dumb to take any less, when our system has decided that's what hes worth.
  16. As far as Income inequality, college football is a really good example. The players, who work their butts off get paid zero dollars , and the coaches get millions. Even worse the coach can fail in spectacular fashion, as Riley did and still collect more buyout money than most people will make their entire working life .I think frost will do great things here, but even if he fails Nebraska football will go on. If 150,000 was all a top football coach made, then yes someone would do it and do it well.
  17. Its not about envy or whining. i honestly do care if they have "theirs", i'm just sick of them telling me my hard days work isn't worth crap while they make billions. I had an agreement with my company to do x amount of work for x amount of pay/benefits, and i resent them constantly try to whittle my piece of the pie down so they can have more in their pockets. Lots and lots of places are economically oppressed and there is nowhere "better" to go either. Its not that easy.
  18. Riley was right on one thing it was better for Bookie to go to OU than to play for HIM. Once Frost took over though , i think Bookie would have had a good career here.
  19. I know people from Prague Ne and they pronounce it preg. So idk .
  20. I agree . That’s the reason you have parents is to help you get through that messed up stage in life without effing yourself up too bad . 18 is considered a legal adult in most cases so that’s a good line to draw on a life altering decision like that .
  21. Just Finished S1 &S2 gonna check out season 3 . I liked the first two . Where I work we take smart assiness , slams, and creative cursing to a new level, so a torrent of obscenities that would burn most people’s ear hairs out , doesn’t bother me a bit. I actually thought the cussing was a bit much though, in this one so far .
  22. Holy cow I’ve agreed with you quite a few times the last few days . Wth is goin on in here ? Lol
  23. I think it’s odd that many people who are against the death penalty for humane reasons would applaud years of rapes and beatings by other inmates as “what he deserves “. If one thinks being executed (the equivalent of going to sleep and not waking up ) is horrible, how can they justify the other as just punishment ? I left my personal views out of, it on purpose, lol just a thought I had .
