Best craft beers you've had (yeah, come at me). Go.

@teachercd Mums is on 22nd and O Street, so that wasn't the name of the one we usually went to. I am blanking on the name, and I couldn't find it on Google maps. It's a shame that a liquor store can't stay open in a college town anymore.
Mums was known as the place to get kegs of beer in Lincoln. Other than that, they weren't all that great.

@JJ Husker I think Herms was still around in the mid-90s. I remember the name. We would usually go to a liquor store near 27th and Vine, because we lived at 30th & T our last 2 years at UNL. They would have an advertisement every Thursday in the Daily Nebraskan on their weekly specials. Then we had our roommate who turned 21 months before we did go stock up on beer and booze on Thursday nights, because he had a bad habit of going back to Omaha to see his girlfriend on Friday or Saturday nights.

@JJ Husker I will go to large liquor stores by my house like Total Beverage and Daveco and spend so much time just staring at the Colorado beer section. There are just so many different options. I will also grab some Boulevard out of KC and Shiner from Texas (lived there for a couple years). There are also some good Hawaiian beers.

@teachercd college was great with the "Red" beers like Red Wolf, Red Dog, and Killians Red, along with all of the "Ice" beers. We definitely thought we were getting fancy when those were on sale at the liquor store on 27th.

@JJ Husker I have a friend who was another dad on my son's old baseball team. If our sons' team was playing anywhere near Greeley, he would make a trip to Weldworks so he could get a growler of Juicy Bits. He loved that stuff.

My wife and I have volunteered as beer pourers at the Great American Beer Festival twice. That's a lot of fun, as we are allowed to sample the beers we are pouring, and we are given a 45 minute break in our shift to go check out the festival. The pourers can have as much beer as we want, as long as we don't get sloppy drunk and become a problem. My wife and I also go to a beer festival each summer put on by a nearby Denver suburb which has grown to about 50-60 brewers.
I don't have a specific craft beers that I like better than others, as I typically like types of beers more than others. I like wheat/weiss beers, sours, and lagers, and am not a fan of IPA's and other pale ales (too bitter). The fruity or different flavored craft brews can be hits or misses. Some are really good, while some are too over-powering or taste too weird.

Seeing speculation that the only Fall college sport will be Football, and it's a revenue issue. Apparently lots of programs operate in the red, and if football doesn't make money, they won't be able to field teams in other sports.
-
@dubsker I do realize that most college football programs don't turn a profit at the non-FBS level. All P5 make football programs make a lot of money, and I would say most (if not all) Group of 5 schools do, as well, due to the TV contracts.

Seeing articles about packed beaches over the 4th. My question: why on Earth do people enjoy this? Pandemic or not...
This is like trying to manage getting in and out of North Stadium without the enjoyment of attending an actual football game...

Tonight I learned that smoked pork chops do not require as much rub as a pork butt. Wow! I'm drinking a beer per bite!

Just went to Walmart, they closed at 4:30 and had barricaded up the doors. Hy Vee closing at 6:30. I think Target was closed all day. These were all west O locations.

Aksarben on fire and being shut down. Village Pointe reportedly the next target. Everyone be safe out there.

@knapplc nobody is saying we aren't expected to give sources, but when the first response to my comment is "Source?" it caught me off-guard. I was giving what I initially thought as a tidbit of info, but when Cdog explained why he was looking for my source, it made sense to me. IMO, there are situations where sources should be expected, and situations where general commentary (without sources) is fine.

@krc1995 thanks for the response, you said what I've been thinking very well.
I get that it's important to share a source for a news story, or starting a thread. But, these status updates seem pretty informal, so asking for a source, on something that was texted to me, seems a bit overboard. Luckily, I was able to get the pic of the tweet my brother sent me, and link it here.

@Cdog923 I was curious why you were needing a "source". I get annoyed with the constant reaction of people "needing a source". Completely understandable in your situation. Stay safe everyone.

All this Ameer chatter about "what ifs/if" he played for TO made me wonder if TO had still been coaching would TO have offered Danny Woodhead a schollie and if so, how he'd now be perceived in husker lore.
