  1. Let me get this straight, your saying Prince is not top 10 material because of one game where he got beat for a TD(I think Blackmon made everyone look stupid this year) and because he had no ints. To me, the only thing Peterson has over Prince is the fact that he did return punts and everyone is enamored over that. If Prince were given the chance, he might have done just as good or better. But strictly corner to corner, I will put my money on Prince. no bias
  2. Didn't Boyd Eppley say that Dobsen is a very good S&C coach and knows what he is doing? I think this was printed out a couple of years ago. (paging Nexus)
  3. On Shaggybevo, some of the posters were saying ole Jerry has his eye on Prince and is trying to manipulate the teams in front of him so he can get Prince. The one thing that made Peterson standout above Prince this last year was the punt returns he had. I think Prince could have done just as good or better if he were given the opportunity to return punts. If that was the case, then Prince would come across as alot better prospect then Peterson in this years draft
  4. I went with A.A. He comes across as a tough little dude and has a very workman like attitude, just like Burkhead.
  5. Let them keep doing this and burning bridges as they go. It will get a point where every kid in highschool will know that the SEC is dirty. I for one think oversigning is a BS way to recruit and is unfair to the kids that go through it.
  6. Damn, my eyeballs hurt after that one.
  7. We'll continue to recruit Texas for the type of kids that we want. It might be 3 kids one year and 6 the next, just depends on what our needs will be going forward.
  8. I'm thinking Garrison will be one of our better recruiters just for the fact that he is young like JP and can relate to the kids alittle better. I know I would like it if my position coach or lead recruiter was young and full of energy and could relate to alot of what I have going on.
  9. Who needs hands when you can clap like that!!!
  10. Or what...You will go make me sit in the corner.
  11. This state IS full of monkeys. We do go ape over husker football.
  12. The more I read about the new hires, the more I wish the season was starting this next week. It is going to be exciting to see what they can do and how the players react to them.
  13. Santos starts at least two years and leads the team in tackles those years. Jackson becomes a freshman all american after beating out Dennard Klachko and Moore becaome all americans
  14. I kind of witnessing a no win situation for Bo. He is getting rediculed for not telling a recruit about Sanders leaving, but if had told him and the recruit had left, then Bo would be getting it for not being able to keep the recruit.
  15. OK, sorry, I was trying to say it nicely. Marvin Sanders was fired. Had he not resigned he would have been let go by the University. I'm not going to get into why, but that's the situation. I agree 100% that if he wouldn't have resigned, that he would have been fired. He is a good coach that possibly messed up and it's good for the university to give him the option to leave on his own. I was just pointing to the fact that people were saying that he got fired instead of resigning.
  16. Marvin did not wake up Thursday AM and decide he no longer wanted to coach at Nebraska. He wanted to retire here. His separation, while listed as a "resignation," is not voluntary. I'm sure he submitted resignation papers, but had he not he would have been "fired" (or, his contract would not have been renewed, or however they would have phrased it). Allowing him to resign allows him to save some face. Expect more coaches to resign before Spring practice. It's the nature of the beast. And to quote a famous American from earlier in this thread, I am "less than proud of this" situation with Jackson. You gotta feel for the kid. Hack had a great point that you should NEVER go to a school based on assistants because they come and go, but we knew there was change in the wind weeks ago. I am 100% in Bo's camp. I like the guy, I want him to stay here. But sometimes I think we need to organize an Intervention and save him from himself. He puts himself in these situations by continually doing the wrong thing. Where did I say he just woke up and wanted to resign? I'm just saying that Bo doesn't and probably wouldn't tell a recruit the reasons for said resigination. Yes, he probably could have said that Sanders is going to resign for personnal reason, but Sanders could have also told Jackson also that he was going too.
  17. Didn't Sanders resign and not get fired? Everyone is saying that he got fired but I thought he resigned. Where is it Bo's place to spill the beans to a recruit about what Sanders might have done. You don't tell a recruit that his position coach has been up to no good and he is leaving for it.
  18. Ekler and JP were both grad assistants at LSU for Bo. Bo had seen something in them to give them their shot at coaching nd it has turned out pretty good I would say. Didn't we have this arguement in another thread about the hiring of a lb coach.
  19. Do you mean closing the deal on the field? I would agree with that pertaining to Cotton, although it appears Bo doesn't share our sentiment. When it comes to recruiting, I think Cotton is an asset - or at least, this class lends credence to that belief. Cotton was the lead or co-lead recruiter on: Daniel Davie, Ryan Klachko, Tyler Moore, Ryne Reeves, Zach Sterup and David Sutton. Cotton accounted for a lot of "stars" in this year's recruiting class, so maybe he really is an asset there. Someone who pays more attention to recruiting would have to chime in here to correct me if I'm wrong... Someone in another thread mentioned that one more coach may be reassigned. I wonder if that wouldn't be Cotton, moving to an Admin role, but still involved in recruiting. Pure speculation on my part, of course. Getting them to sign on the line which is dotted is lovely; but if he can't close on the field, then what good is he to us as a "teacher" of the game. If he can't close, then he needs to hit the bricks. Example: I bought some prime ribeyes from Sams, and put them in the fridge. If ya don't cook the meat, it gets moldy. Doesn't matter that it's prime - mold doesn't care. Point is, if you are going to get the good stuff when shopping for groceries, ya better have someone who is prepared to cook up a good meal, and not ruin dinner! The problem I have with people bashing Cotton is the fact that he is teaching kids a blocking scheme that he really doesn't know much about and people don't take that into consideration. It would be like me taeching you spanish and I have no idea on how to speak it myself.
  20. ESPN just showed that they have 31 commits also. What will happen when the ncaa rules against their appeal and the sanctions take affect? Will they have to take schollies away then.
  21. I don't think we will fall of the map with recruiting in Texas. Our coaches have built great relationships with coaches down there and that will continue to benefit us. Oregon recruits very well in Texas and they do not play games there.
  22. Can we consider this a win for next year also. Come on down little brother
  23. That would be a hell of a lb crew if you got all three.
  24. On something like this, it makes you think that the lawmakers barely graduted middle school. It is just plain stupid to take away insintives from people that are trying to better the future of young adults.
