  1. I'll take him.... talent in the trenches is out problem.
  2. I am worried about our dline and our oline. Beyond that if we get a te or two ill be ok with filling the class with under the radar guys like usual but to be elite we need some studs in the trenches.
  3. Is this like the silent commit we had during the summer? That totally materialized into a couple decommitments. So hopefully if its not all total huey then atleast we keep who we have. Last time someone said big news coming I think a non rated guy from a small north Dakota town committed. Lets hope its bigger than that!
  4. Ross els is the recruiting coordinator and the special teams coordinator...
  5. With injuries and transfers etc you must be three deep at qb with guys who can come in and win. Best guy gets the start but i think a two qb system can worj as long as one is the true starters and the other is an athelete you cant keep off the field. Xi see stanton as the qb and armstrong as the athelete but we wont know til they play. Both may play both may transfer...never can know for sure but we need solid qbs.
  6. Maybe a stupid question but was jp on the field?... i never saw him. Maybe because i got up for a few beers but i suspect pelini called the d and jp was in the box. Maybe im wrong.....anyone?
  7. I agree fisher is a good hire. Ross els coaches linebackers and special teams and those units both have the most breakdowns of any unit at nebraska. Next is barney cotton, his line is up and down more than a sea saw. Neither one of those coaches has much of my support. Jp is not cutting as a d coordinator either. Im sorry cause i like jp but he is not ready to be a major college coordinator yet. We get out coached schematically every game. I think we need a splash hire, big name coordinator and demote jp to linebackers and special teams coach. Get a solid recruiter, best available. Time to hire guys with major experience and accomplishments and open the check book a bit or i fear we will slide into middle of the big ten pack if we havent already.
  8. Logic says nebraska will have 3-4 turnovers and 5-6 penalties at worst possible time. Id say michigan 48-17. However something tells me that nebraska will not turn the ball over and michigan will so im going against logic and saying neb 38-31
  9. Omg....we r arguing about giving up 63 or 49......really?! Either case is pathetic. Coordinators get fired at major universities for such abominations.
  10. I think our defense is so bad that northwestern could score 60+. If that happens I doubt the offense scores 60+. I hope we make some serious changes on d. Like try attacking with the line or maybe even tackling once in a while. I'm skeptical until i see results on the field. Hope our players step up more than I expect.
  11. And who might these playmakers be? Cupboards are pretty bare on defense.
  12. I don't give two craps what a guys says or what a coach does at a breakfast. Put a defense on the field that can make a tackle or get out of town. Its that simple. This staff is out of excuses. By the way.....go recruit some studs....you need them.
  13. I think we should try to relax a bit...myself included. 2008 recruiting was abyssmal. Those r the seniors we have now. We just need to allow for youth to develop and recruit better. I've seen an upswing in recruiting
  14. Dont know if its true but it doesnt really matter. How many plays has he made? How many disruptions on plays? I think we need to weed out the poeple who are not prepared to sacrifice their body and devote there soul to husker football while here. I am not singling out ROME. I am saying in general...I dont see too many blackshirts out there right now. Maybe martin and ankrah and stafford and evans. I would award enuwa an honorary one! After that is pretty freakin weak. Just a gut feeling but I think its time to play hungry youth and let them develop. How much worse off will we be? If you give up 700 yards vs 750 who really cares. IF freshman play and get experience and we build depth that way im all for it. Id rather see mistakes by hungry, fast, attacking, excitable, and big hitting youth than pathetic tackling and bad mistakes by seniors while they look like deer in headlights out there.
  15. I am laid off as of Sept 29th so ill have plenty of time to devote to said device.
  16. Or we could just hire someone to pour muscle relaxers into the opposing teams gatorade jugs. But then football would be lame. I say turn the blackshirts loose and let's win the big ones for a change.
  17. Huskerfowler...pm about the device. I have an idea and it involves a combination of alcohol, laxatives, box cutters, ruffies, a scapegoat and superglue.
  18. Student section 9 row 38ish......tickets are in sect 38 row 96 but I've never sat there. Always stand in the student section.
  19. Our 2008 class absolutely sucked. We r seeing now that many upper classman are being out performed by the new recruits. I expected something like this to happen. We will be fine starting a few freshman. What worries me is on the oline there could potentially be four guys starting who were all walkons......scary stuff.
  20. He left because of the high he was getting off of the c o t t o n around Lincoln.
  21. I love hearing stories like this. I just wish we had a oline coach that induced stories like this.
  22. I may just be nuts but right now i would take bill callahan back as our oline coach in a heart beat. That guy can coach oline and he can recruit. He also knows how to score points. Just cant manage a team and be a leader. Oline coach...sign him up.
