  1. Rivers have Parker have no business trying to create their own offense.... Not their roles on the team
  2. I don't think they'll waste a position coach on TE.... Surely the WR Coach can handle that.... Or the Oline coach
  3. A thread was locked in the Woodshed...Nice.

It's always been locked IIRC. Mods take offending posts out of regular topics and put them there. Don't believe it's ever been an open topic but I could be wrong.

Oregon just lost their best CB and Oregon's defense doesn't compare to TCU in coaching or skill. Oregon might win it all, but if Oregon and TCU played, TCU would win, IMO.

  5. "Basically" Harbaugh attended Michigan.... You don't need big balls, or a search firm to have seen this hire coming....
  6. We probably won't be able to consistently recruit with the likes of Urban, or Harbaugh.... This was known, and acknowledged by the hiring of Riley.... He has always done more with less, and that is exactly what Nebraska had in the glory days, and exactly what we need now to compete. We can recruit well enough that with elite player development, there is no reason we can't compete with anybody in the country on the field. Elite player development is a MUST for Nebraska, always has been..
  7. Samuel McKewon ‏@swmckewonOWH 1m1 minute ago Big get for Nebraska with @Mattsnyder42 commitment. Best true TE commit in some time. Size, good speed, hands. #huskers
  8. You exhaust almost literally every conversation you get into on the board. Never shutting up is part of what gets you in trouble with the Admin's....
  9. Still has to pay the 70M. I'm thinking they didn't want to penalize the team nor the fans by keeping him out of a playoff game. I think your M should be a K. M is the Roman numeral for 1000. M is pretty common in the banking world and MM for millions or thousand-thousands
  10. Easy.... Neither has proven anything to this point.

  12. And there it is..... Now we know the new "Boom" #NebraskaJustGotBetter matt snyder ‏@Mattsnyder42 5m5 minutes ago I am de-committing from Oregon State and I am officially committing to the University of Nebraska #GBR
  13. Ryan Gunderson‏@TheGundy Love getting the call from @Coach_Riley that the #HuskersJustGotBetter !!! #GBR And this from former Oregon St. QB Mannion Rich Kaipust ‏@RKaipustOWH 23s 23 seconds ago Mannion said Langsdorf was organized, methodical through the week. And: "I think he does a very good job connecting w/ his players" #Huskers
  14. Mike Riley ‏@Coach_Riley 10m10 minutes ago Great news for the Huskers today! #GBR #HuskersJustGotBetter ---- In reference to Coach Langsdorf, or something else?
  15. haha this is funny. based on what exactly? He not serious
  16. Was this a "serious" inquiry or sarcastic? Just asking…. According to a majority of HB, Nebraska is still a 'Top Notch' job. This has been up for discussion for years. Only the people 'inside" the State or strong ties or love for the program are convinced that Nebraska is an upper echelon destination. The rest of the country , including almost every national media outlet, says Nebraska has dropped and was a distant 3rd when they compared Florida, Michigan, and Nebraska as coaching destinations. So, if you are being serious ( you think that there is a long list ), then you must agree that MR is passing some great guys up……. if you are being sarcastic, then you obviously are admitting that this ISN'T your old Nebraska anymore. Not trying to start a riff, just honestly trying to get your stance… or opinion. When has Nebraska ever attracted top notch assistants? Even in the glory days they were just Devaney/Osborne guys, were they not?
  17. This is perfect, well said. I don't mind a few hires like this, but so far the entire staff is mostly old OSU guys without a great track record, particularly on defense. Resources can only do so much. This guy from Cincinnati hasn't been hired, but he exemplifies the type of coaches we're looking at... unimpressive. He's been at Cincinnati 1 year. He was the D-line Coach at Memphis in 2000 when they had the #1 run defense in the country. He was also the DC at UCONN from 2006 to 2012. They finished in the top 10 of Total Defense 3 times, top 10 in rush defense all but one season. His 2012 defense was 7th in rush defense, 9th in total defense, and 19th in scoring defense.
  18. Well, how is it?!! For violence, the Old Testament makes Medal of Honor video game look like a Disney movie. Much like the Middle East today, in fact. Ha! The violence is abundant in the good book, for sure.... Yeah. I guess the violence stands out because I didn't remember how much killing the Jews did back in the Old Testament days. Life was pretty brutal back then. I guess it goes without saying that there's a lot more in the bible than violence. I'm looking forward to reading the prophets following psalms/proverbs and then getting into the new testament. Slaughtering villages in the name of the Lord. Seems a little hypocritical of them, but as you said, there is much more to the bible than that (Revelation is terrifying!)
  19. Admittedly, I'm a little unimpressed with the hires, but I'm also going to assume that Riley knows more than the rest of us about hiring football coaches. And after the last coaching staff we had, having a truly veteran group doesn't sound like the worst thing in the world....
  20. Not a member, don't recognize the guy, mind filling us in? Hank Hughes. Co-defensive coordinator at Cincinnati. Hank Hughes on his defense: " Our philosophy is prevent them from scoring and minimize the number of points they put on the board. "
