  1. Next week: Iowa Sucks (Purdue Edition)
  2. Iowa Sucks (Indiana Edition)
  3. The only thing I don't like about Beck is when we come out to start the game and throw three straight passes. We completed none and ate up a whole 15 seconds and had to punt the ball. Otherwise, Beck is the man.
  4. I think he picked up a couple of things from him too.
  5. This is why we can't have nice things!
  6. 1000 of those came his freshman year. He was used much, much differently after that. His senior year he averaged 2 ypc. That doesn't make him anymore of a statue. He still has the ability to run and elongate plays, but instead of just heading straight up the field they are asking you to take one more look down the field for a receiver. Yeah his role changed, but he is still not a pocket passer. It is like when the great Pinkel tried making Brad Smith into a pocket passer. His rushing yards fell, but it didn't stop him from still being a threat. The next year they let Smith go back to what he did best and his rushing yards escalated again. If it is in your arsenal, you have the ability to use it and that is what matters.
  7. Night game, Iowa State was not. Neither were many of those. The loss to NW last year was a 2:30 game. Didn't look up the times of any of them. But in his post, no less, he had a contradiction I did no work for...
  8. Interesting thing I learned a couple weeks ago with a friend is that Emily Kinney, plays Beth, is from Nebraska. She went to Nebraska Wesleyan and did theater with my friend. Plus, she is pretty good looking too!
  9. Bradford yes, Connor Shaw, no. He's a legitimate dual-threat, his running ability was a big reason why he ended up taking over the starting position. Jake Locker that runs a 4.4 40-yard dash Jake Locker? Jake Locker was predominately used as a pro-style pocket passer for his entire college career...until that bowl game. And a good 40 time doesn't necessarily make you a running QB He had 11 rushes for 59 yards and a touchdown in our first meeting against them, including a 33 yarder and a touchdown. Seems he was used as a runner at least a little. Jake Locker amassed 1939 rushing yards in his career. Statue I tell you.
  10. They each give up 1.5 sacks per game. Why don't you think EMart could get one against either? I don't see us getting to Nelson with his mobility and still being young and mobile and probably wanting to escape pressure. If Penn St. gives up 1.5 sacks a game and Martin gets 27% of our total sacks as a team there is more chances of him not having a sack then there is of him getting one.
  11. Maher-The group around me every time he hits a 50+ field goal.
  12. Line moved to Michigan St by 1.5 points a couple of days ago. Nebraska is now favored by 2.
