  1. Had to figure he would be one of the guys lost due to scheme. Wish the best for him in the future.
  2. Nice. Your partner can flat out play. From the same hometown as I am. Pretty sweet that you guys won it and can call yourself champs.
  3. Made the mistake last weekend of going to Pacific Springs in Omaha. Nephew wanted to go golfing so since the sister isn't much of a golfer I figured I would go. Only good thing about the day was the fact it was nice. Took 3 hours to play 9 holes and now I remember why I never go to that course. With the weather being nicer hoping to get out and play more here soon. Anyone been out around the Omaha area? Which courses are in good shape?
  4. This is basically the exact opposite of the course I grew up playing. It was 9 hole small town course with tiny greens, not much contouring and only 3 bunkers and 1 water hazard on the entire course. Come to think of it that is most likely why my sand game sucks so bad. But I would much rather play a course like Benson or Johnny Goodman in Omaha as opposed to a Stone Creek or Tiburon.
  5. Agreed. Some of my favorite courses that I have played have been on the shorter side but require more thinking to get around them and you can't just hit driver and not care where it ends up.
  6. I didn't intend for my post to come off as being directed solely at you. But yes i do agree that Miles needs to start finding a way to get the gets out of the Metro that are BIG level players. I don't think any of the kids in Omaha think too highly of Nebraska. And it just seems like McDermott has a better relationship with coaches in the area. This would be a large part of it yes. And if you look at where Chang excels it's at shooting the ball. He's a stretch 4 at the next level and Creighton has had some pretty good luck with that position in the past.
  7. Ed's recruitment has nothing to do with Arop. And say all you want about Mile and his recruiting but he ended up being right that the Arop kid needed a year of prep school. And in all honesty Ed would be a better fit for what Creighton does offensively.
  8. If you don't like the sand don't hit it there....but seriously I think it is a very fair layout and the course is always in really good shape.
  9. 1 Seed: Nova 2 Seed: UNC 3 Seed: Michigan St. 6 Seed: Florida 6 Seed: Houston 11 Seed: Loyola-Chicago 12 Seed: South Dakota St. 14 Seed: Stephen F. Austin 14 Seed: Wright State
  10. Say for arguments sake that Nebraska finishes 4-2 over their last six. That puts them at 21-10 and 12-6 heading into the conference tournament. When was the last time a power 5 team that won 12 conference games was left out of the big dance? Assuming they finished 12-6 you would have to think they get a pretty favorable matchup in the conference tournament to win at least 1 game. Now obviously anything is possible but I can't see them getting left out if they get to 12 wins, especially the way they have looked as of late.
  11. I get what you are trying to say here but I don't think it applies to this situation. Jordy has been a starter this entire year and has played and would continue to play a key role in the success of this team. This team looks to be better/more cohesive than any team in the past few years.
  12. Obviously the base principles would be successful. Those should be used in any program regardless of sport. What I'm saying is if you took Boyds program and didn't change a thing about it I don't think it could work today. You can run and jump as much as you want but if there's no time spent with flexibility, mobility and joint stabilization it's all pointless.
  13. Totally agree with this. Boyd's program that was used in the 90's wouldn't succeed in today's environment. To me the root of this issue isn't the strength staff at NU. These kids specialize in one sport at a very early age. They train for one sport, lift for one sport etc. This creates weaknesses and imbalances that if not properly addressed will eventually catch up with any athlete. There has to be time spent focusing on stabilization and strengthening not only muscles but tendons and connective tissue. These things seem boring but can make a big difference.
  14. But in all seriousness you're probably right. I just couldn't miss out on the chance to post that.
  15. Not arguing in favor of them not making it. But when it's included on a list of accomplishments of a coach I feel it should be pointed out. Never in my life will I root for Nebraska to lose. Even that night when I was 12 I rooted like hell for Nebraska even though i understood we had no business being in that game.
  16. Never mind it was a NC that we had no business being in.
  17. Guess I'll apologize for starting the chaos. Wasn't the intended outcome.
  18. 1. Alabama- I know this is unpopular but i love watching the way they play football. 2. Clemson- Same as above 3. Wiscy- Would love to get to see what they can do on a national stage. 4. Washington State- A full month of Mike Leach interviews? Yes please.
  19. I love the tradition that the blue hairs started and passed down through the generations but these type of things drive me insane. I've been told a couple of times through the years to sit at games. There has to be some sort of solution for this. Also the crowd sounded real loud on TV and my speakers in my vehicle damn near broke when A. Williams had his pick 6. Was driving from one party to the other. Should've just stayed in the car. Game got out of hand once we got there.
  20. Those Florida uniforms are far worse than anything we have seen at Nebraska. Just proof that even Nike can create something that looks awful.
  21. Will be interesting to see if this happens. For whatever reason lately I've been having a hunch that Riley gets another year. If he's canned I think Bookie ends up at Clemson assuming the new coach can't keep the class together.
  22. Agreed with the bolded part. And for as well as Jaimes has been playing the fact that he is playing tells you all you need to know about some of the "talent" Riley inherited across the O-line. Once could make the argument that our 2 worst lineman right now are the 2 most veteran lineman. Now I'm still not sold that Cav is a good coach along the line but once he made the switch to Decker and Jaimes, which was forced upon him due to injuries, our line has looked better. Hopefully that can continue this week and into the rest of the season.
