Washusker
Looks like Green will be moving to FS to make room for Asante at SS. Interesting move. I can't recall Green getting beat in coverage as often as Shanle, but we'll see how this works. I am pumped about our DBs next year, though. (Who would have thought that?) Quote Link to comment
tattooedhusker
i'm with ya wash, it is crazy to be excited about our db's next year. it's a breath of fresh air rather than biting our nails everytime a QB drops back. Quote Link to comment
AV Red
I'm excited about having a safety who will come up to the line of scrimmage and knock down a running back for a loss. A safety who will make a receiver pay for catching a ball in the middle of the field. Our safeties were not physical last year at all. Quote Link to comment
mahoney
With Green being able to play only one position next year (as opposed to always having to cover for Shanle) he should be very solid. Then with Culbert and Asante stepping up into ss we should be looking pretty good. Quote Link to comment
HSKRNOKC
Green tried to arm tackle and (Dance) with the opponent to much. You need a bruiser back there to punish the receiver. Quote Link to comment
BIGREDIOWAN
Asante should give us that if he does in fact play SS next year. Quote Link to comment
strigori
Asante sounds like he love to hit. It would be a nice change to see the safties lay some wood again. Quote Link to comment
Hunter94
at this point i would be happy with just some pass break ups......... Quote Link to comment
gamecocks
In our base defense, there is very little difference in assignments for the safeties. However, there is a big difference in their responsiblities in the other packages. It would only be fitting to move Green for the fourth time in four years. Quote Link to comment
Drowning_in_the_Sea_of_Red
It would only be fitting to move Green for the fourth time in four years. I'm sure he loves every bit of it! I'm excited to see Asante get out there and blast someone......be like a Roy Williams (Oklahoma) type of guy Quote Link to comment
xHuskersX
This will be the smallest position move for him, and he is much better at FS.....SS is for bigger guys and for run support Quote Link to comment
RedDenver
Bill Busch has stated before that the safety positions can switch depending on how the offense lines up. So the safeties probably know both positions. I think it mostly matters how we play out of the base defense against balanced formations. Quote Link to comment

Yea it seemed like Green and Shanle were both communicated a lot this season Quote Link to comment
