no_name_needed_2001
We lost 1 to USC... That means we get to start one freshman Throw in the BLUE! Quote Link to comment
Redman
Phil Elmassian: coaching resume 1974-75 William & Mary 1976-78, Richmond 1979-82, Ferrum College 1983, East Carolina 1984, Minnesota 1985-86, Virginia Tech 1987-90, Virginia 1991-92, Syracuse 1993-94, Virginia Tech 1995, Washington 1996, Boston College 1997-99, Wisconsin 2000, LSU 2001, West Virginia 2002, Marshall 2003, Purdue 2004-present, Nebraska 17 schools in 33 years. That means that he was at a school an average of 1.94 years. Eight of the schools, he was at only a year. Maybe he is simply nomadic, or some of these other schools and coaching staffs knew something the Nebraska does not. Any way you look at it, his track record seems a little sketchy. huskernumerouno
elmo needs to go and his comments are just another reason why. He is an idiot and I did not think he was the right one for the job to start with. Quote Link to comment
Lonestar_Husker
Who brings up Woody Hayes anymore? Jeez Louise, this does not make sense on any level. Personally, I'm a "bottom line" kind of guy. If this guy plays better than that guy, play him! Bottom line. This antiquated type of ?reasoning? does not fly anymore. I wonder what he thought of USC's TRUE FRESHMAN center blowing Suh off the line 90% of the time. They better get to liking playing underclassmen, or they will be looking for yet another job. I think Callahan is smart enough to recognize where the problems lie. I hope he is smart enough to do something about it. Quote Link to comment
I am I
a couple weeks ago, i had a post about Coz that interviewed one of his old players. in the article the former linebacker said maybe the game has passed him by. i think this confirms it. now his assistants are spewing his rhetoric from a guy who coached 20 years ago. huskered17
I'm surprised he didn't say "3 and out" was over rated. I have never heard a Nebraska coach former or present say any thing along the lines he seems to believe in. Might just be a reason why he moves around a lot. GBR!!! Quote Link to comment
BIGREDIOWAN
That was probably one of the worst comments I have ever heard a coach make. I hope to god him and Coz are gone next season! No wonder our defensive backs suck so bad! They have a guy trying to teach them that has his head up his arse! Quote Link to comment
