rkhufu7
More than enough talent in Texas for the Aggies to play Beamer ball and be great! They have the best home field advantage in the Big 12 and a top 5 in the nation with Kyle Field. Pelini can play defense and the Aggies would be happy with another RC Slocum type, which he would be, not an Osborne. Fran has put all his talent on offense. OU/UT can only get a max of 50 ships a year, Texas produces over 300 D1 players, so the Aggies can get better players than TCU, which is built on defense. Aggies get Pelini, because they won't trust a Fran assistant, which Patterson is. I'm from Texas and a UT grad, but that stadium sways in Aggie Land and it is a definite home field for a good team. Great weather, talent base, no legends, save for the Bear, he'll be in Maroon and White! Quote Link to comment
Tyger
I realize North teams beat the powerhouses in the South this year, but for the Big 12 Conference the North is still the weak sister. I wouldn't want have to play OU and Texass each and every year. Plus, A&M plays second fiddle to Texass and OU for recruiting as well. Personally, I'd take the NU job first. Either way, I think he'd be in a good situation. I could see that not being the case in say 2 or 3 years.... I think KSU, CU as a top 25 team every year from here on out. and I could see ku and mu being there every other year or so. I have no clue what to expect from us though...... I see MU being a top 25 team here on out. Quote Link to comment
rkhufu7
Missouri doesn't play great defense you won't be ranked if the only team you van stop is NU with Callahan's WC offense! 400 yards a game defenses don't keep you in the top 25! Quote Link to comment
eoltmer
He has seen how easy it is to win with talent, and Texas has loads of it. He will be able to recruit LA at ATM, which the Aggies already do and he will have a home field on level with LSU at Kyle Field. He doesn't have to replace any legend, all he has to do is beat Texas and Tech, make an ocassional Big 12 title game and restore the 12th man spirit to the Wreckin Crew! I think he'd take the Aggies first! If he does congrats to him, if he doesn't contrats to him. The season isn't over and no one is fired yet so we still got some football to play. dustinl15
That would just be our luck. He will go to ATM and in a couple years they will just be amazing and then we will sit here wishing that he would have come here. Kind of like we wished he would be our HC and then we got Cally, and Bo is still a great DC that would be a great HC. Quote Link to comment

I highly doubt the AD that fired him will want to bring someone in just like him. Quote Link to comment

AG IN DENVER
Nebraska has more winning tradition than A&M + 1 NEBRASKA But more pressure to win championships. -1 NEBRASKA Bo has history with Nebraska +2 NEBRASKA Would have to recruit outside of state at Nebraska than A&M -1 NEBRASKA A&M could probably pay more +1 A&M A&M probably has better facilities +1 A&M A&M closer to major recruiting areas +1 A&M The area aroud A&M (Hill Country, Brazos River, Corpus Christi ) is more appealing than Nebraska +1 A&M Where would his wife like best ? NEBRASKA + 1 A&M + 4 I THINK IT COMES DOWN TO HIS OWN PERSONAL PREFRENCE - THOUGH ON PAPER A&M HAS MORE ADVANTAGES Quote Link to comment

And both your "probably"s are wrong. UNL has deper pockets, and we dont have to pay as much to buy out BC as you do to buy out Fran (unless the Booster scandal gets you out of it, even if it does I still think we have deeper pockets) and as far as I know we have far superior facilities. We will not have to pay fran all of his contract - the word is they are talking one year. Please we have much more money to outbid you if we want to. We have a brand new indoor practice facility, A newer stadium with nicer vip areas, a brand new athletic complex with video rooms, lounges, weight complex, study rooms ( Not needed at NU), etc etc etc The recruiting was not double counted one was about the closeness the other was about out of state recruiting. Not to say they are going after BO - I think if they can get Tuberville without a buyout penalty they might go that way. Just friendly speculation. Quote Link to comment

First, if you're in a better position to recruit than us, that's either a plus for you or a minus for us, not both. That would be like saying UNL has more of a winning tradition +2, aTm has less of a winning tradition -2; Bo has history with UNL +2, Bo has no history with aTm -2, etc etc etc. Second, what makes you think you have more money? I won't disregard the statement out of hand, I'm willing to entertain the idea, but I'd like to hear your reason for thinking so. Third, we have a ton of brand new facilities too. And Memorial Stadium is older, but that may actually be an advantage in terms of tradition. Don't mean to put you down, I just feel like we'd be the ones with the slight edge. Quote Link to comment
