Da Man
I have a very hard time believing that T.O. isn't looking at his good friend Turner Gill over at Buffalo...I know he's not a fan of Bo's style but I can see why he's looking at him just because fans like Bo. However, to think that Turner, who Tom still talks to once a week, is not in the running is ludicrous. Actually, TO really like's Bo, which is why Bo is on the list IBR provided. I have another source close to the athletic dept who has confirmed TO's fondness of Pelini. Take it for what it's worth. My source could be wrong but hasn't been as of yet. Quote Link to comment
HuskerKing130
Lets get Jim Leavitt, that would be awesome Quote Link to comment
Huskers4ever
I've heard from a few people that T.O. doesn't like Bo's hot dog attitude, especially as a head coach. A DC can have that intensity but it's over the top as a HC Quote Link to comment
NUpolo8
For the record, if Pelini accepts or interviews for a job that doesn't yet exist, then that should tell all that he should not be given a head cocahing job. His lack of loyalty is well documented. Ok, lets see, he was fired from Nebraska and OU hired him to be Co-DC, then LSU hired him to be the only DC. He couldn't help the situation at Nebraskas, and the LSU thing was a promotion. Is there somethign I am missing on his lack of loyalty? Also, yes, I think it is a concern he would bolt for the NFL. But that is a realistic concern with any and all coaches we hire these days. PS - I'm not a Bogazm person. In fact I don't care who we get as coach as long as it is the best person for the job at the time. No homer hires, no "name" hires. Just the best coach based on the resume. One issue I have with Bo - no HC experience. Getting fired certainly wasn't his fault, but that's still 4 jobs in 4 years. Also, if one is to believe that Les Miles is in fact earmarked for the Michigan job, Pelini might just be the LSU coach. Quote Link to comment
gobigred911
IBR what is the status of Callahan? Is it still after the texas game? And is there a current leader among the 3 coaches? Quote Link to comment
gobo12806
Thanks for the update IBR! The info is appreciated! Quote Link to comment
treeeman
Also, yes, I think it is a concern he would bolt for the NFL. But that is a realistic concern with any and all coaches we hire these days. Why does everyone think coaches want to go to the NFL??? Would you want to manage 53 overpaid crybabies? If your team doesn't make the playoffs, you get fired. A coaches life span in the NFL is about 3 seasons. Coaches prefer the stability and control they get in college football. Quote Link to comment

huskerfan500
I like that list, maybe Paul Johnson added in there would really be a good list! agreed Quote Link to comment
alairguard
Having just moved from the wiregrass of Alabama, I have to say we need to steal Tommy Tuberville from Auburn, bring Muschamp with him! Wishfull thinking, i know. Quote Link to comment
Pasadena Husker
Bo Pelini (already talked to) (Can understand since he has coached here before.) Jim Leavitt USFl (Won't leave a program that he buildt up himself and has florida to recruit in.) Gary Patterson TCU (Bad offense and his defense this year isn't that great either) good comments about the last two. right on the mark. Quote Link to comment
Stu
Why a new coach? After A&M killed nebraska on saturday, Bill said he was going to try to make the team better next week! I think we should just have total faith in that, and let him do his job. Quote Link to comment
Pasadena Husker
Is Tedford from Cal a realistic candidate? I know he loves our facilities and is having problems getting his built. Tedford is a great coach and would good for Nebraska. He is fed up with Berkley's tree huggers and other assorted fruits and nuts. he might be fed up with berkeley, but he would never leave there to come to lincoln. there is not a real upside for him, his family, or career to leave a big name university like cal that he has built back up and coming out to the firestorm in lincoln. doesn't make sense right now.
