Captain K
I do live deep in enemy territory , but I have always worn the red with pride. After the OSU game my big red gear has been put up. I also took my Husker static cling decal off my car and reattached it upside down. I just cant wear the stuff with pride anymore. The OSU game was the first time in 34 years that I left a game early. Hell , I was out of there at halftime at Mistys drinking heavily with other disgruntled fans. Never thought i'd see the day that things actually got this bad. Hopefully I can take it back out of storage by next fall with our new coaching staff at the helm whoever they may be. You are not a husker fan, you are a fan of winning. Go get your Bosox 2007 World Series Champs t-shirt now. Also, never post here again! Quote Link to comment

HUSKER 37
Window Cling I came across one of these last week (Forgot I'd bought it a few seasons ago)..Just put it on my Car window AFTER the ATM game..Figured my Team needs me more than ever now. Saw another Husker fan during Rush Hour traffic yesterday and we gave each other the Herbie Gang sign ("O-Tay"). I guess it depends on your reason for showing your Husker-ness. For me, it's a form of solidarity, an Ice breaker, and Just because I'm proud of where I came from. Sure I see ASU fans all the time out here, who are more than willing to tell me the the "N"s on our helmets stand for "Nineteen ta Nuthin", but I just compliment their (biggest win ever) and ask how their team looks this year and how soon they expect Erickson to have them on probation... I would imagine "Fair Weather fans" just display their Husker-ness to rub other people's noses in it. At least a little... Quote Link to comment
Texan in Nebraska
you gotta have faith and pride in your team no matter what! I'm a huge die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan and I dealt with the 5-11 seasons in 00',01' and 02' and the 6-10 season in 04' you just have to deal with it and when your team starts doin better (like My Cowboys are doin now currently at 6-1) it feels that much better!! True Fans stand by their team no matter what whether it be a winless season or a perfect season!! I wore my Huskers shirt and hat the week after the Okie State game with pride and the only reason i aint wore my Husker stuff this week is because I'm a slightly bigger Longhorns fan than Husker fan so i've been wearin my burnt orange stuff but as soon as this saturdays game is over I'll be wearin Husker Red hopin we beat the crap out of Kansas!! Dan_F_30
I'm sure the rest of us will accept you back once we start winning again. I didnt say I am through with Husker football. I'm through with this season of Husker football. Do you really think we are going to start winning this season? I dont think we will win another game. I hope i'm wrong but I doubt I am. I just have better things to do like ski and fish. I never get upset or disgusted with those activities. This quote is pretty much the DEFINITION of a fair-weather fan. Try to say you aren't and make excuses but you have already stated that you will only follow when they are winning and now you are doing it so it can't be denied. You and all of us know you are a fairweather fan... No more excuses. Quote Link to comment

You can still have Nebraska pride and support the players, f#*k the coaches, support your players. Quote Link to comment

huskerintexas
Whatever, my walls in my basement are still red and I f'ing love it. No trips to Home Depot for paint replacement are in the future for me. I'm sorry this is painful, it's not exactly easy to be a fan right now, but a fan sticks by their team regardless. My buddy is a Dolphins fan and he never misses a game and they haven't been sh#t for YEARS. Do what you want, but be prepared for those that stick with the team to call you a "bandwagoner" or something of the like. I'm sticking by the team. It's not like i'm going to switch sides or anything. I'm just not going to display it as much as I usually do. I'm taking enough flak from my Buff fan friends and I dont need to hear it from strangers. I'll end up getting arrested...again. I'm just not going to let myself get worked up is all. Sad...jeez - rooting for a team only when its winning.....I glad that this guy is the exception and not the rule! I can't wait to see my Husker brothers and sisters at Saturdays game here in Austin! GBR! Quote Link to comment

This is probly not my busness, but it"s no good just to be a best fan when you"re team wins. Anyone can go to a store an buy team stuuf and say they are fans of a top team Like your GBR has been for along time. True tuff fans stay with they"re team all the time, and then when you"re team wins, It"s extra nice! Then it"S good to pump out youy"re chest an say; See, I"m an all the time fan! I knwo somethings abouth this, I"m a Tiger fan. I say pull you"re head out of you"re butt an be a GBR. Stay tough on you"re team, but stay with them. The cornhuskers will ride the pikle <means football fgames> again soon: Tuff Tiger Quote Link to comment
tennessee husker
I live in S.E.C country and I still fly my red. I've got a red N on my car and it'll never come off. I still wear my husker shirts and red hat all the time. Actually, the last couple of times I wore my husker game day hat, it's been inside out (rally cap!). Go Big Red. Fly them colors. hskrmama
I live 30 min from WI, 3 hours from Iowa City and Ames. I wear my red and white, everytime I go out. And everyday I get someone saying don't you know where you live or we are going to have to convert you, this is Husker country. Well too bad, won't happen, I will wear my Husker stuff till the day I die Quote Link to comment
