BIGREDFAN_in_OMAHA
Bryan Munson of Big Red Report said on 1620 yesterday 5 key guys that will be in: QB Ryan Mossakowski QB Clayton Moore LB/FB Shawn Bodtmann QB/WR/LB/S Nathan Scheelhaase OG Nick Ash He also said the staff is puching hard to get QB Cody Green here but the situation with the airlines may hamper that. sea o' red
Id like them to lure QB Kevin Newsome in. Quote Link to comment
BigWillie
How could Munson not include Gabe Lynn on his list? Yes, we are on the outside looking in right now, but we still have an ace in the hole with his brother on our team. Dillard has not pushed Lynn towards us, yes. If/When he does, that could change the game. In any case, there are about 10-13 visitors scheduled right now that we should expect. That can/will change about daily though. Quote Link to comment

BigWillie
The vast majority of the 100 are local kids just like every year. Quote Link to comment
huskerfan500
that is what I figured also Quote Link to comment
Spartness
Fine. We will get our five or six home-state scholarship kids and a number of walk-ons. Quote Link to comment
Blackshirtsguru
I just watched video on LB/FB Shawn Bodtmann and he is a friggen stud! This one is going to be hard getting from JoPa! Quote Link to comment

BigWillie
Fine. We will get our five or six home-state scholarship kids and a number of walk-ons. Being honest, I would be surprised to get more than 2-3 in-state kids on scholly this year. Heck, I would not even be surprised if Pensick was it from this class. Talent level just isn't that high this year, especially compared to past years. And before someone goes off saying Lechner and Sellers have offers from other schools, remember that to get on a different level, we need to recruit a different type of athlete. Being from Nebraska and being a D1 talent should not entitle you to an offer. If the coaches have a kid rated ahead of a Nebraska kid, go ahead and get the higher rated player regardless of what anyone else thinks of some of the kids within our borders. Quote Link to comment
bbhusker
Well said. Just because a kid is from the state of Nebraska and is getting offers from other schools does not necessarily mean that we need to offer them a scholly. We just need to find the kids that fit our system and if they are not from here fine and if they are great. Quote Link to comment

Yes, rather than offer scholly's, convince them to walk on! That was common place during TO's regime... Quote Link to comment
