Big Red Report: :star:star:star

Assessing the talent: TE prospect can also play DE. He is a star basketball player as well. From ESPN evaluation: Hageman is a promising tight end prospect. He possesses good size and the frame to add more good bulk. He will need added size, but should have little problem getting up to a more ideal weight. He is a productive player as both a receiver and a blocker. In the passing game he can be a weapon. He is a tall rangy kid who looks to have a good wing span and can make some tough grabs. He can be a quarterback's best friend in the sense that the ball can be thrown up and he will go up and get the ball at its highest point. His size and ability to jump make him a tough match-up and a target in the red-zone. More here: http://insider.espn.go.com/ncf/recruiting/...26season%3d2009

Odds of becoming a Cornhusker: 10%. Tough competition from in-state Minnesota. Wisconsin is known to be recruiting very hard. Ohio State will also be in the mix.

Loved his visit to wisconsin according to ESPN:

Tight end Ra'Shede Hageman (Minneapolis/Washburn) was one of those prospects and was among the 80,000 plus fans in attendance at the game.

"It was cool," Hageman said. "Even though they lost to Ohio State, they have a great tight end program. They pretty much convinced me their tight end program is the strongest of the schools I'm looking at."

In addition to Wisconsin, Hageman has three other schools on his list. He has official visits set to Ohio State Oct. 11 when the Buckeyes play Purdue and Minnesota Nov. 8 when the Gophers play Michigan. Hageman also plans to schedule an official visit to Florida.

Hageman liked more than just the way the tight end is incorporated in the Wisconsin offense.

"Their facilities and the academics are top level," Hageman said. "The fans were great. The environment was good to be in. I got a tour and everything was pretty cool."

The 6-foot-5, 252-pound Hageman said Minnesota continues to have one advantage: it is his home-state school.

"I'd say Minnesota has an edge," Hageman said. "They beat Indiana Saturday. That's a plus. They're doing well."

Obviously, NU is out of the running with him
