Landlord
Have we ever had a 1,000 yard receiver? Also what's the receiving touchdowns in one year record? I would love nothing more than to see Swift break Rodger's record, break 1k yards, and a decent amount of touchdowns too. The kid is a Husker through and through. Quote Link to comment
Army Husker
Dennis Richnafsky, SE, at Kansas St., Oct. 7, 1967 (145) 14 Yards Gained, Season: 942; Johnny Rodgers, 1972 (55 rec.) Quote Link to comment
Army Husker
Sorry on my last, the 14 by Richnafsky was for receptions in a game, the touchdown record for a season was by Johnny Rodgers in 1971- 11 touchdowns that year. Quote Link to comment
Army Husker
And I got those from here Offensive Records Sorry for the numerous posts... Quote Link to comment
huskered17
He has been my fav player for the last two years. He makes all the tough catches. I said at the beginning of the year he was going to have a big year. Whether he breaks any records, will have to wait and see. No one plays harder, down after down, than Swift. Reminds me of an Oakland Raider WR, Fred Belitnikof. I said it before, Swift will be playing on Sundays. GBR!!! Quote Link to comment
Cy the Cyclone
I like Swift and I'm glad he's finally getting the recognition he deserves. That being said...I hope he does NOT break The Jet's record. Rogers is a Husker icon...part of the legend that IS Nebraska. I just don't think seeing Swift, no matter how good, projecting the same sort of legendary image as Rogers does...especially considering how the game and the team itself has changed over the decades. SwiftFan87
Records were made to be broken and who better to do it than Swift? Quote Link to comment
holvy83
records are made to be broken, and Swift should feel proud to break them. Way to go Nate Quote Link to comment

BATTED DOWN... by..? johnny rogers: nice try, el blanco niño! FACE! announcer #2: johnny rogers? announcer #1: folks, you won't believe this: johnny 'the jet' rogers just came outta NO-WHERE and kept swift from breaking his reception record. announcer #2: i've never seen anything like that before in my life. the jet is being escorted off the field by the nebraska state patrol. it looks like officials are going to repeat the down and put time back on the clock. announcer #1: that was just... bizarre. okay, nebraska lines-up again... ganz drops back... out to swift again... cy the cyclone: THIS ONE'S FOR YOOOOOOOOOOU, JET! announcer #2: ohmygod, swift was just leveled by a member of the chain gang! announcer #1: there's pandemonium on the field folks! announcer #2: hey, isn't that the same guy who tried to impale lil' red with the sticks last week? BIGREDIOWAN
I think Swift deserves this record and he has been a very reliable receiver for us over the years. We are going to miss him next season along with Todd Peterson. Quote Link to comment
