Im not mad about MU. I never really thought a NC was a possibility, my hope was for a BCS bowl. They have just an outside chance at that now. Thats still cool. MU has sucked almost my entire life, I am enjoying winning some games. But anyway...

 

I am not really mad, just dissapointed about some of the posts like this that have been picking up steam over the last month or so. Posts like this used to be rare if ever. And the best part is they were quickly ignored and in most cases the poster took a beating and was black balled if they continued.

 

Like I said, I am just missing some of the things that brought me here in the first place

Its cool man. I take crap because i'm a Mu fan on the board. Thats to be expected. I give it back just as much. I really like this board, just dont want it to become what others are. So i guess since he is just focused on his next opponent and trying to win for his team and his school that means he is awsome and MU will stay good forever. Better than those little b*tch husker players who are going to focus on there next opponent and are not concerned with winning the north or NC's, they "just want to improve week by week"

You my friend are absolutely correct. What you are reading here in many (but likely not all) cases is pure, unadulterated jealousy from Husker fans that have a certain entitlement that they think that their team (the Huskers) by right should be at or near the top at all times. And, when their team, as is the case now, is anything but top tier, they "hate" anyone wlse whose program is prospering. As you say, that is well... rather pathetic.

 

As to the Tigers --- I wish them the best. I wish all the more for the Huskers and hope that the 'Skers do win the north. But I hold nothing against MU --- in fact, I appreciate that your coach held back and did not run the score up on us. I am glad that MU is prospering now.

 

My hope, as a hardcore Husker fan is that within a short period NU, MU, Texas, Oklahoma, TTech and Oklahoma State (and Kansas) are ALL national powers --- ALL top tier --- all continually ranked and that the rivalry in all of these teams games against each other are awesome --- and, of course that NU rules ultimately over them all. That is, lets have a year-in year out B12 where we are like (or better still above) the SEC.

 

To you and all other Tiger (or other B12) fans who are guests on our board I hope you stay with us, invite your friends to join in and over time that we have heated but friendly competition. And, I apologioze to you for the Big Red fans who are still trying to cope with our rebuilding process and thereby wish ill upon our neighbors.

Without good strong competition we are nothing. The better the conference is the better we become as a team if we are able to beat them.

 

I have said many times there are very few differences between real fans than they wear a different shade of red. The core of good fans are the same everywhere, and as you grow older you really begin to appreciate those fans of other programs. Looking forward to tailgates and get togethers to BS about who is going to win and know that it will be a good game. We have lost that presently, and I miss those days more than anything about where our program has gone.
