skersRmyteam
How come we never lined up with Lucky in the slot and both helu and q in the back field next to ganz? i just think of the endless list of plays we could have run with all 3 of our rbs on the field. thoughts? Quote Link to comment
HUSKER FREAK
I would think that having Mendoza in the slot next year with those two in the backfield would still be a good formation, Hell even better really. The power and the speed in there would be awesome to see. Quote Link to comment
skersRmyteam
I'm still suprised we didn't throw out a package like this against Missiouri (when we played them) or Oklahoma, in attempt to match their speed. Quote Link to comment
Enhance
It'd be a fantastic formation with Helu and Q in the backfield and Mendoza in the Slot. All the backs would have to improve their pass blocking, however, if Nebraska wanted to use it to open up the pass. But man you could have reverses with Mendoza, power running with Q, and some slash and dash with Helu. It would be very powerful. Quote Link to comment

DaveH
Sounds great in theory. Most things do. I can only say that the guy's who know more about offense might have had packages that included this but never got the opportunity to use them Quote Link to comment

Well we all know Nebraska simplified it's offense shortly after the Missouri loss, and since then we haven't seen formations with two halfbacks with the quarterback in shotgun. This formation might have been left out to make the offense less complicated as it was pre-Missouri. Just my guess though. Quote Link to comment
SkullandBones
yeh, kinda what I thought too. I found it pretty tought to believe that I came up with a formation the coaches hadn't. Quote Link to comment
skersRmyteam
sure would've been a beaut to see. maybe we'll get a taste of it a little next year... Quote Link to comment
BIGREDIOWAN
Great idea and you have me wondering the same thing now? Quote Link to comment
cmb23
Because it opens up vulnerability. See...some A-Hole defensive coordinator would have sent in his benchwarmers to go in and take all 3 of them out leaving us screwed for the rest of the game and season. He probably would have had them go in and sweep the leg... Quote Link to comment
NUpolo8
Damn, I never knew Governor Blagogevich ran the Cobra Kai dojo. I wonder if there's any fear in Illinois either? Quote Link to comment
