NUance
...California Redwood, that is! Cory recently signed with the California Redwoods of the UFL. I’m a big Cory Ross fan. But he just doesn’t seem like a Redwood for some reason. Can't put my finger on it… Quote Link to comment

MoStateHusker
Good for Ross! Anybody else wondering where the Florida team got its nickname from? Tuskers? Quote Link to comment
In the Deed the Glory
Good for Ross! Anybody else wondering where the Florida team got its nickname from? Tuskers? I believe it was for a wild boar or something.... Yep..... So, just what is a Tusker? Glad you asked. A Tusker is a wild boar, many of which roam wild throughout the everglades and the state of Florida. Apparently the United Football League did extensive historical research to come up with the names. The new United Football League unveiled its Orlando Franchise on Wednesday, naming it the Florida Tuskers. It will play two of its three home games at the Citrus Bowl and a third home game at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg. The six-game UFL schedule begins in October. Quote Link to comment
