OG/DT Charles Deas

Recommended Posts

Player: Charles Deas

Hometown: Lauderdale Lakes, FL

Position: OG/DT

Height: 6’4”

Weight: 315

40 time: 5.34

Visit Date: Jan. 6, 2006

Scholarships offered: Over 10 including: Georgia, Nebraska, Auburn, LSU, Tennessee

Favorites: Georgia and Nebraska

Rankings/Stars:

Rivals: #10/ :star:star:star:star

Bid Red Report: #30/ :star:star:star:star

Assessing the talent: Deas has a real mean streak to him. A big attitude, just filthy nasty on defense. In the backfield every play. As a Junior, Deas posted 68 tackles and 10 sacks. Both services think quite highly of him. He plays both guard and defensive tackle in high school.

Odds of becoming a Cornhusker: 30% Deas has stated over and over that he would like to leave the state. John Blake is recruiting him so the Huskers have the best man luring him. The Huskers have a visit and someone who really wants to give the Huskers a chance.

Nebrska is so far ahead of the other teams on him, it's actually quite interesting. Unless we do not WOW him on his visit, he will end up at Nebraska. You can quote me on that (assuming he doesn't commit to someone else before he visits us)

I know charles deas has us listed high, and i was wondering if we should be thrilled if he commits to us. I have heard that hes had grade problems and may be like a jerrell poe. anybody know the chances that if he does commit he will make it hear or is it almost a guarantee that hes juco bound.

Coach Blake paid Deas a visit tonight. I am not sure why, but Blake is still after him pretty hard. I have my doubt about this guy ever qualifying. NU could very well end up with him but for a reason. NU knows he most likely won't make the grades and it's better to keep him away from the other teams then have him go elsewhere. Even if he ends up at a JUCO college, the coaches will make sure he stays close to them when it's time for him to be re-recruited again when he's eligible. If NU gets him, i am telling you right now not to be excited about it because he won't make the grades in my opinion

hello, deas has set 4 visits, & his 1st will be to NU on jan 9, & then aub on 1/13, lsu on 1/21, & ga (his other fav) on 1/27

he likes blake a lot, wants out of fl, has transferred 3 times during his hs time, bench presses 360, squats 340, & at the nike combine at mia ran a 4.88 (40)

p.s. at the manhattan nike combine 2 NU kids lead at their positions w/ young for the rb's w/ a 4.39 (40x), - & that was his time after his 1st knee surgery - & bullock for wr's w/ a 34 in vert leap (sorry, old info, but I was reading my rivals mag, today)
