It's just an acknowledgement of his outstanding career at NU. Tommie Frazier had his jersey retired, but players can still wear #15. Only #60 (Tom Novak) and #64 (Bob Brown) are retired numbers. Actually I believe they re-retired #20 in memory of Johnny Rodgers last year. Not sure on that, but Burkhead was 20 in high school and switched to 22, and Kunalic switched to #1. Can a player named Frazier still wear #15, though? Just curious. I would assume so since the jersey retirement is a symbolic gesture. Somebody named Frazier might not want to wear it though.
